Of course he gets hate. Early on in his career people talked about him like "that cute kid that is good at dancing but cannot sing", then he was called "the idol who is prettier than any girl" so just before his solo debut he tried to "fix" that and went all TaeMAN, but he still keeps having the "Korean MJ" monicker. Then after he embraced his duality and took a stand against gender stereotypes with Move, he became that...the gender defiant idol. With the releases of Criminal and Idea we see how a toxic relationship (not necessarily romantic, but his relationship with fame) in which he agrees to be manipulated almost destroyed him, but then he gets free of that and of the role he has to play as an idol. He has his own idea about himself. In this one he's basically saying "fuck off, you can't keep trying to put me in a box in which I'll never fit in" and he's also dissing those who have said that he's getting old, that he's just a MJ knock-off that doesn't sell many albums because he tries too hard to be edgy (I remember explicitly armies saying that during Criminal comeback) and people advicing him to make music more mainstream or to follow the traditional kpop idol style instead. In the video, both at the beggining and end, with all that ink and pain on his hands and torso he's saying "I'm not that pure unstained Maknae anymore" and with his shirtless stained torso hes telling to the antis " Come and get me" He's playing the piano, rapping and using falsetto because most of the time he's described as a sultry vocalist that sings in a breathy comfortable but unadventurous range (that analysis is even in that k-pop vocal analysis site). His choreo in this video has nothing of his usual small homages to MJ. He's also embracing his androgynous side but on his own terms. He's wearing long hair, fishnets and a sport bra, but he's also doing a very energetic sharp choreo, that couldn't be described as feminine. He's also wearing makeup but is all run down, like saying I don't care about looking all pretty. In the part when he says "floppy" i think he's talking about him knowing or hearing the stuff it's been said about him and that he close his eyes a little to it, but he keeps listening because what they're saying is what is flopping. Each time they put him in a box he destroys it and keeps coming back with something more unique and never before seen. Lastly the "One Advice" is about him being more mainstream, but he's saying, put the imagination you have been using to write shit about me, to better use. Follow my own advice and do something original for once (🎤 drop!)
Whew. This is a great explanation. His interviews and lives give you a peak into his heart. He’s always been an odd duck, but sayonara hitori was a turning point for him. His androgynous image started after that hit. I think this video is him responding to everyone. The white side is the support and the black is the fall. They made him cover up who he is and he felt cramped. Now he’s like f-it, let everything crash and burn, I just do what I want from now on. The small bean has become the beanstalk that reaches past the sky. Also... the Sweatpants gods never let us down! Ya boy out here killing us softly.
Wonderful analysis. That is why he is very famous, but not so watchable. People need to understand him, but to understand what he says in his songs, they need to think and feel. His messages are so sincere, but veiled, you have to read between the lines. It's not so easy for the main target group of fans around 15. To become very famous like some other groups you have to give accessible messages, the lyrics are focused on what the fans want to hear. Simple impact tricks. Taemin is different. I am so glad that he tries to tell us and show his own inner feelings and thoughts, without taking into account other people's opinions. That is why Taemin is so unique. I hope to preserve this uniqueness and when he returns from the army, to show us his full strength and brilliance. And we, his fans, will wait for him patiently, although we will miss him for the next two years.
This entire thread is 💯💯 but to add one thing it’s funny that all these antis haters whatever you wanna call them the same idols that they love and cherish and are so wonderful they look up to him they respect him they want to aspire to be like him.Haters are just fans
Welcome to the Taemin rabbit hole! People talk about him and try to "unlock" him and his secrets. He feels trapped and asphyxiated, like in a small room where he cannot stand up or move much, where he is put in a box where he does not fit. He rebels, acts out, and ends up killing himself, something about himself or the image people have of him, and he is liberated. The image of the cross is common in Taemin's choreographies, typically representing liberation or a resolution of an internal conflict. You also note that he is wearing fishnet lace stockings with the Bermuda pants, and women's activewear with a sports bra. Probably not a coincidence that this is the moment where he touches his "pants" quite prominently. This gesture is common among other idols but not for Taemin. I would recommend the Criminal video with lyrics before the 2020 Mama video. I think it is better to know what is the song about before the live performance, as you have seen in this video there are surprises . SHINee setting the bar so high... has a lot of spoilers. Unless you want to have an overview of their live performances before going deeper, I recommend that you start with actual performances.
@@Yetti. This! Taemin has actually been a rebel for basically his entire solo career. I know people went into explanations of the gender fluidity of his performances with move, and with this too with the bra and everything it seems he's really trying to push those boundaries. The thing to remember is that Korea is super conservative. Being LGBT may not be a legal crime, but it is a social crime. Both Taemin and Jonghyun are/were really outspoken, so I'm sure there is a lot of hate we don't see
@@boxgrux Yeah. I think Internet war is kind of the starting point / a huge influence for Taemin on this journey. And lately, I always felt that Jonghyun lived on him in some way. Advice also gives me pretty boy vibe. He was/is his soulmate, he know him better than anyone.
People criticized him for being cute and feminine. And many of them call him tone deaf. He proved himself and broke gender stereotype too. He came as a dancer and then become a lead vocalist. Now he even rap. He shows the world that he is unstoppable. In the song ' pretty boy' also he and kai says it. I like if you watch that too.
Yes, he gets a lot of hate. Since he became an icon and standard of soloist and dancer/performer in Kpop for years now there’s so many people (fans of other idols) hating on him without any sane reason, just out of pure jealousy, it’s ridiculous… But yeah, they can spit their lies, but it doesn’t change the fact that he is ART! :)
When he first started people gave him so much hate for being "tone deaf" like yes he struggled a bit back then but he was so young and still improving. Haters just will pick at anything it's crazy
@@Mari-sc4mg he wasn't tone deaf, he was a 14 year old kid, if you have brothers you know that between 12 and 15 they sound normal and then the chicken voice comes out and mom tells you don't laugh and you go behind her back and do. You can't fix tonedeafness since you yourself can't figure out what you are doing wrong. Even Shinee fans hated him or disliked him? on that show weekend idol or something, a fan qsked them if they weren't jealous of tge extra atrention he had with his solos and Jonghyun said Taemin is our maknae and we adore him qnd support him and key was like, no,no, no!
@@Lupita311 Exactly, Taemin obviously was never tone deaf. He was going through puberty and didn’t have proper singing lessons, but once he started training his vocals rapidly improved. I never understood the hate he was getting since the very young age. It must have been very hard for him growing up in this industry and shielding himself from all this toxicity. He is much stronger now, but I just know he is a very sensitive person and surely suffers a lot at times. I believe he deserves nothing but highest praise, love and support!
The fact that he prepared this album on a short time between hectic schedule as shinee and lil bit superM and he prepared for his military service too. This baby is so hardworking. Now imagine the era after he complete his duty. As soloist and with shinee. So shawol, dont you dare cheat on them
Taeminie did it yet again. Despite already having listened to this song during beyond live, he still managed to surprise me and the rest of the world. Taemin never showed the same side, personality and concept to us. In his Vlive, he explained that Advice is like the end to the first chapter in his life, and also the beginning of his second chapter after his comeback from the military (meaning we need to patiently wait for awhile😅). It seems like a continuation from his past Trilogy where he finally found his true self in IDEA, this song is like saying goodbye to everyone who judged, spread rumours and misinformation about him. He is free and confident to be himself, breaking all the stereotypes and now only listening to himself. Just when we thought we got his best in Criminal and IDEA, he served us with this. This is Taemin's art at his finest. Point 1: That diamond (SHINee's logo) on his right hand in the beginning when he was playing the piano. Point 2: The pearl aqua (SHINee's colour) background when he was dancing. Point 3: Those vocals, especially them high notes! Point 4:That sing-rap part reminding so much of Minho's rap part in DCM. Point 5: Those subtle yet impactful moves in the choreography. Point 6: Those no-barrier outfits (love that crop top with Supreme sports bra and thongs). Point 7: The hip and mid chest tattoos saying hi and making a debut to the world. Point 8: The poignant message from the lyrics which everyone needs to listen! Point 9: Taemin's signature pose at the end (yes, the martyr pose lol) Point 10: Taemin not letting anyone forget him during his hiatus.
Love everything you said but I don't think it's a bra or a thong, it's more probably long sleeves and a boxer hahaha (how could he dance like that in thongs ? And we would see his armpits if it was a bra)
@@Yetti. he doesn't. He always covered it. In Idea he's wearing a nude patch over it. He's had it since SuperM though. Someone saw a small peak of it in one of his outfits. We knew he had a tattoo, but we've never been able to see it clearly before!
@@Yetti. we see it the first time last year in superm promotion and later in criminal stage but he never showed until now, the only one he allways is the heart in his left hand, so we are crazy about this crop top and his hip tattoo, we suspect that is a peony flower
@@cashmeredelicate1373 some shawols show the tattoo to profesionals and they say that looks like a peony flower, i have seen in Google some drawings in black and white and is very familiar, but is just a teory
I just love that he found a way to push the barrier even further...he didn’t just give you a crop top moment...he was like “no that’s been done, I’ve also done it before” ... let me give you a matching athletic set moment I just feels like he pulls off androgyny so well... don’t know how many other men could pull off a sports bra, long hair and a choker so effortlessly... like Taemin does it in a way that makes it so it’s not a thing.... it didn’t feel like he was making a huge statement (I mean he obviously was when you put the outfit within the context of the video, with the lyrics and all the other imagery)...it just felt that was just the outfit he decided to wear... He seems so comfortable playing with masculine and feminine motifs.... to the point where it’s kinda hard to think of him as either...he’s neither particularly masculine or particularly feminine.... he’s just Taemin Also if you are watching Born to Shine during solos week please watch the Crazy live performance for Jonghyun... I just feel like you should be stressed the whole week...we should find you something stressful for all the members...just make it a thing😂
lol Here's me thinking you are my friend and you come out with 'you should be stressed all week' 😂 maybe i'll do a stressful one and a calm one for each.
@@Yetti. I mean on the scale of Jjong performances crazy is not that bad...I could have picked worse Yetti 😂 I was still giving you a chance... but yes doing one of each is a good idea... Although I don’t think there’s a super stressful one for Onew (people can correct me if I’m wrong) he’s such a sweetheart 🥺
Before, he was against being seen as a girl. In Sherlock era, he had extentions and some guys thought he was a girl. Even before that, many was already amazed how feminine he could look. Being born a guy and still young at that time, he didn't hide the fact that he sometimes get uncomfortable. It's an automatic reaction. Now, seeing him pursuing a feminine concept in MOVE era and slowly aiming a genderless concept, amazes me because of how far he has come when it comes to his passion. He didn't limit himself to a certain style and concept. Just like his root SHINee, he still continued even as a soloist to go over the boundaries of what is commonly accepted and known in society. Typing this makes me realize why I stan him and SHINee. Taemin is actually my first bias until I became a OT5 bias. Since I grew up adoring MJ's passion, I was automatically drawn to Taemin who is heavily inspired by MJ.
I see "Advice" as a continuation of the themes within Taemin's Never Gonna Dance Again trilogy -- "2 Kids," "Criminal" and "Idea." With "Criminal" and "Idea," Taemin talks about being involved in a toxic relationship -- not necessarily a romantic relationship, but a metaphor for his relationship with fame -- in which he agrees to be manipulated almost to the point of being destroyed in order to become the artist we see today. But in the end of "Idea" we see him become free from the box everyone wants to put him in and he comes to terms with his role as an idol. He has now formed his own "Idea" about himself and what it means to be an idol, etc. As Taemin explained during his VLive event for "Advice", "Advice" is like the end to the first chapter in his life, and the beginning of his second chapter, which will be after he completes his military service. The song seems to be his way of saying I am done caring to everyone who judged him and all those haters who spread rumours and misinformation about him. "Advice" is showing that he is now free and confident to be himself, breaking stereotypes and now only listening to himself. In "Advice" he's basically saying, "Stop trying to put me in a box, in which I'll never fit in." He is also speaking to everyone that says he's getting old, that he's just a Michael Jackson wanna be that doesn't sell a lot of albums because he tries too hard to be edgy, etc. He's rebelling against all those people who are constantly advising him to make more mainstream music or to follow the traditional Kpop idol style in order to boost his sales and his popularity. However, as Taemin is making clear in "Advice," that is not who he is and he will never be "normal" or "mainstream" and he is OK with that. In the scene where you see him covered in ink, I think that is supposed to be him showing everyone how he is no longer the "unstained," cute maknae everyone wants to think of him as. This song was specifically designed to not be like anything he has ever done before. He plays the piano, he raps, he shows off his falsetto notes, etc. which is different than what we often hear and see from him. He intentionally used this song to prove that he isn't one type of singer. People often think of Taemin's as a sultry vocalist that sings in a breathy comfortable less dynamic style. So, with this song he wants to prove to everyone that he can be unpredictable and try new things. Yet again, you can't put him in a box or tell him who to be. Everything that Taemin's hatters like to point out about him and say are reasons why he shouldn't be held to such high esteem, I find completely ridiculous. I don't think that anyone who actually knows him would ever say he has played it safe at anytime in his career. If you think he is only one dimensional, and that he is trying to be anything other than himself, then you really don't know Taemin. Everything he does is different, out there and definitely not safe. It's always uniquely Taemin, and he couldn't do it any other way. Also, because Taemin is a member of SHINee, none of his songs are ever like anything you have every heard or seen before from him. It will always have a new beat, style and sound. As SM's experimental boy group, SHINee is meant to be the first and they are expected to set the trend and that includes the members solo work. With every new song Taemin produces it's expected to be different than the last, so you will never hear the same style or sound from him in any of his songs, even on the same album, and yet, it still will be uniquely Taemin-like. Which is another example of how you can never put him in a box or expect anything from him. :D Another theme in "Advice" is about how Taemin is embracing his androgynous side -- but on his own terms -- which I think is a continuation of the message in his "Move" MV. Early in his career when Taemin was growing up in SHINee he was known for his feminine look. The industry thought it was novel and cute to dress Taemin up as a girl and play up his feminine features. It took him a long time to accept that he was known for his looks and to come to terms with the fact that everyone thought of him as a "pretty boy," etc. So, at this point in his career he is making a statement about how he has decided to be himself and no longer care what people think. Music is art and art it has no gender. So, that is why in "Advice" you see him wearing hair extensions, fishnets and women's Supreme sports wear (It's a long sleeve crop top, not a sports bra), etc. But if you notice, his choreography is very fast paced and sharp which is hyper masculine -- a complete contrast to the "feminine" image people want to give him. You also see him wearing makeup, but it's smeared on his face, as if to say, "people may think of me as a 'Pretty Boy,' but I don't care about looking pretty." In the lyrics where he says "floppy" I think he's talking about knowing about or hearing firsthand the things people are saying about him, but he is choosing not to pay attention to them because what they're saying is flopping or doesn't hold any weight or have any substance, etc. "Advice" just proves that everytime people try to put Taemin in a box he destroys it and keeps coming back with something more unique and never seen before. I interpret the "One (piece of ) Advice" he is talking about in the lyrics as a reference to the advice he keeps being given about being more mainstream, but he's saying, "stop trying to make me conform to the image you have in your head of who I should be and what I should do" -- in other words, take all that time and effort you have been using to come up with ways to talk about how I don't fit in, etc. and put it to better use. "Follow my own advice" and do something original for once. As a devout Catholic, Taemin often uses Biblical references and metaphors in his songs and MVs. And the crucifixion pose at the end of "Advice" is sort of a signature pose for him. I interpret it to be like he is saying, "And that is the end, this is my final word, take it or leave it, but don't doubt me. I have gave it my all and laid everything I had out there for you," etc.
Love your reaction! love to see people analyzing his songs and mvs! I honestly feel like Taemin's definitely calling out haters and netizens in general. When Taemin debuted he was dismissed as a "pretty boy" and people didn't take him seriously. He often had people often make degrading comments about him due to his androgynous appearance. People often said things like "he looks like a girl", "he's not a man", "he's not masculine enough" and it went as far as people making assumptions about his sexuality. At the beginning of his career Taemin definitely struggled with that and didn't like his androgynous appearance. His whole career pretty much to this point has been a big middle finger to all of them from MOVE onwards. He's totally embraced his femininity. He said in an interview that he knows now that it's what makes him unique and that he wants to embrace it and help break gender barriers. This comeback is definitely him being very direct about it and I think it's the perfect time seeing he has such a successful solo career and is looked up to by so many people in the industry and considered "the standard" for male idols. Now he can really rub it in their faces and I LOVE IT!!!! One thing we all know about Taemin and that he made clear in this song, is you can't put him in a box, he's a free man, he does not have boundaries and he can be whoever he wants to be as an artist.
Adding to what everyone is saying about the m/v meaning: just a theory but maybe the black side represents the people's negative opinions about him (which is why his hands turn black while playing the piano) and the white side represents his fans' extremely positive opinions about him and how both side constantly try to "unlock" his identity. The two sides fight (like white and black chess pieces) to define him according to their views and because of that he needs to try to appease and appeal to both sides constantly, constricting him and his actions. At the climax, he looks like he is going to sit and play the piano again but instead he waves his fingers in front of the camera, as if he is playing the viewers like a piano, which could mean that he intends to control us from now on. At the end he is still smeared in black but has white paint dripped over him but he is not completely covered all over, which I interpret as a Taemin whose identity is changed by everyone but still retains enough of himself. Also what really kind of made me feel like the white side of the chess board might be his fans' love is the second track Light, cause some of the lyrics there indicate him losing parts of himself to a bright white force but loving it nonetheless.
Taemin obviously spoke on behalf of all celebrities and idols and everyone who gets trolled for unnecessary reasons. But I somehow felt that he described jonghyun's story. Like he wants us to give no shit about unnecessary trolls and gossips.
The first thing I thought about when I saw the tattoos and the black paint was Jonghyun in Internet War. Jonghyun wanted to make a point about cyberbullying with that performance. Now it's Taemin's turn to re-emphasize.
He definitely gets his fare share of hate. I remember when he done the dance performance with Jimin from BTS. The army went in hard. Saying he tried to outstage Jimin etc. (Most Army’s are too young to really appreciate how massive Shinnee were/are. Also, whenever he goes on variety shows the questions are always about how ‘cute’ or how ‘pretty’ he is. They don’t respect his creativity or value as a real artist. Teamin is heavily involved in the production of his work. Of course he doesn’t write his songs, but he decides the concept, the choreography and is involved in styling etc. I feel like this song is him saying ‘yes I’m the cute maknae of Shinee, but I’m also a real genuine artist. Respect that’
I think what makes Taemin different, is that no matter what he is doing, what he is wearing, what stereotipes he is breaking, (even with a crop top and a bra undernith), he is always so elegant. He has a classy sexyness that never feels rude or dirty. Maybe because his MVs always have a lot of symbolism and everything has a purpose and a meaning. He hadn't shown himself shirtless in a long while, and also this time I don't think he is "showing off" for free. Being "naked" and showing his tatoo I have the feeling it's a statment saying he is not gonna hide anymore. And I'm really glad he can finally be confident enough to be himself not caring about others opinions.
@@Yetti. yes. Devout Roman catholic. Catholic name is Francesco 😂 he initially wore rosary bracelets... but changed them for rosary rings. He once lost one at an event, and fans searched for it and gave it back to him. I think he does not wear these anymore, but I'm not catholic so I don't actively search out for it aka I could be wrong. I just know he had them because he kept wearing the same rings for a very long period of time, and it is something that has come up a few times throughout the years.
Hey, Yetti. Nice to have you back & I love how Taem greeted you back ;) As you said, there's nothing to hate on him for. He's just busy creating art. But, unfortunately, haters don't need a reason to hate :( As you probably already know...when he debuted at 15 years of age, boy could he dance...but he couldn't sing yet and an instructor had even said he was tone deaf. While going through puberty back then, his voice changed and he worked so so damn hard to become the vocalist he is now, with full support of his SHINee hyungs of course. He literally worked equally hard on both his singing and his dancing and his growth arc was such that he was the first SM artist to have a solo debut while simultaneously actively promoting with a group. And you already know the heights he's reached now. So, he has always faced a lot of hate from people who didn't believe in him & probably tried to influence his artistry, those who criticised his solo discography simply because it didn't fit their taste & didn't have a pop-y sound like most mainstream K-Pop artists, by gossiping tabloids who still twist his words from interviews he gave during his debut days to fit their narrative (one of the lyrics on Advice) and by fans of other artists who unnecessarily compare him to their faves & drag him down. In an interview yesterday, he brought up the critical comments he faced during his newbie days and said how those words motivated him to do better and better. Also, I'm sure you'll slowly discover this as you look through more of SHINee and Taemin stuff, you'll realise that they have often included symbolism (Eg: SHINee & Taem respectively being trapped inside glass box-like rooms with cameras trained on them in SHINee's 'Good Evening' MV and Taemin's Idea MV teaser images and the small room in this MV that he seems to be trapped inside & that has a camera he looks into once or twice) that seems to suggest that every move of theirs is being watched. And they are sadly one of the groups that have faced an unhealthy amount of scrutiny, particularly following the heartbreaking events of Dec, 2018 & the desire of many to atribute disgusting motives to their decision to stay together and move forward as a group. As a deeply emotional person, I'm sure these comments have left deep scars on Taemin's mind and I believe this MV is his way of telling all these people that he's had enough of their drama and he'll do exactly as he likes & wishes. That this is a diss track and basically a big Middle finger to all these toxic elements makes this song even more special, in my opinion. PS: I'm sorry I wrote an essay...I got carried away ;p
This album ends his last era ( his past) and bridge to the present... The meaning of the song is his take down of people who gossip about him under the guise of saying things about him out of “ love” when in fact, it’s often self serving: The colors mimics a chess board, his stance is that of the king, while the dancers represent the other pieces. The clothing represents the various parts of his past... for many years he was referred to as a beautiful man who looks like a woman, but... his stance, he can wear what he wants as a full grown man. The ending pose is the final pose from idea, Advice serves to close out the first chapter of his life. The duet song on the album is the one that bridge the past and the future as he prepares fir his second act.
Taemin is my SHINee bias and I love his vocals but this song is just so different (in a good way) what I mean by this is that the song sounds so sad and he sounds so heartbroken that it makes me feel the emotions he is going thru and almost makes me cry. also I love the piano sound in the song as it really brings out the emotions Taemin is showing us. I'm gonna miss him so much but I'm gonna be waiting for him to come back.
I agree that the song is manifesting a lot of emotions but I didn't get just sadness from it. I mainly got a feeling of empowerment, which I love! Taemin never disappoints and I will be patiently waiting for him to see what he will get up to when he's back. Bet it's gonna be great! :)
You had the best statement so far “I never thought I’d see a guy wearing a bra and think he’s so hot”. So true LOL! Taemin has gone to another level of artistry and performance. He finally showed his large tattoo and I see he has a third one on left side upper rib cage. He’s always had to cover them up (not any more) because of tv stations rules, fans dislike, etc.
You’d be surprised, he does get a lot of hate. He’s such a good artist, but it makes people hate on him harder because unfortunately, in the kpop world you have to tear down others to make your own favorites look better.
Exactly he even gets hated on vlives just for trying to communicate with international fans in english. They’ll be like stop speaking in English, speak Korean 😢
and comment of the year goes to "I never thought i'd find a man in a bra HOT" by Yetti!!! LOL out of tons of Advice reactions i've been binge watching since yesterday lol, yours about 'the keys to my lock' definitely my most favourite Yetti. i think its really accurate or the most realistic if we relate it to the whole concept.
I was waiting for your reaction and I wasn't disappointed! I'm glad to see you back for this great occasion! Taemin is definitely one of a kind and he outdid himself this time. I think he did what he really wanted for this mini-album, to keep us as fans for when he comes back from the military. It's a promise to us that he will be back and give us more of him than what we used to hear. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
@@Yetti. I must say I love the vibe of Advice, the piano and the more aggressive tone of it, but 'Light' is definitely a hit for me, it's 100% sensual Taemin!
I’m sure he is already preparing for his mega comeback after his enlistment and will blow us away... so he keeps us hooked on him until he comes back! Even there are other soloist who is doing same thing as Taemin... they just can’t compare to him. Sorry I’m just a bit bias with my baby Taeminnie 😍
I feel like you understand this mv more than half of the people who watched it (Especially a lot of reactors) being a celebrity/kpop idol, and growing up in the spotlight in general, wouldn't be easy. It's bad enough in my life with random strangers telling me what I should and shouldn't be doing with my life, but for people like taemin, it's magnified. And now ironically, he's going to have to follow orders in the military. Taemin has always wanted to break free from stereotypes, and try to be himself. He was bullied at school when he first became an idol (shinee used to walk him to school because of it) he was called tone death so many times when he was younger, he's many songs/performances that are not kpop "norm" sm entertainment is known being a pretty controlling and bad company. maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it almost feels like a big f u to all the people who have tried to shut him down, over the years. For shawols, and those who have supported him, it's like him telling us that he can get through it, that he can handle whatever they throw at him. (And now I think I'm going on a tangent ^^; ) regardless, I am so proud of him, and how far he has come.
You should have seem me sweating while watching this MV yesterday 😅 Taemin always does something new every single time he comes back, because he wants to show different colors of his 😊 This time around, he tries to describe idols life generally, i guess. How hard it actually is! how captured they feel themselves sometimes, by all that pressure they get from fans/untifans or industry. Thank you for your honest reactions always ❤ i feel so happy, seeing people enjoying and appreciating his hardwork!
"I never thought I would find a man in a bra hot" got me lol But he is actually getting a bit criticize now jut for this dress, some Korean says it's awkward, too feminine, with the long hair, blablabla... I thought we are living in 21th century?
I am struck by how how often he uses masks in his videos. So many masks. So many Taemins. And this video and lyrics tell us that we still haven't figured him out. (And he may never let us do so.)

Your comments are actually spot on dear. Taemin’s duality has been a big part of his career and now he’s showing everyone that he cannot be tamed or categorized in one box. He has been receiving too many comments not only about his image and performances as an idol but also about his personal life that I think has affected his point of view in a lot of things. So he now decided to just tell his story and tell the people giving him those comments that they don’t know him at all. They can give comments all they want but at the end of the day he is not someone they can control
And for the car crash, it just like him saying, crush me down Everytime you want but I still keep coming back majestically And you see the tiny room he his in around the beginning of the Mv, that just like the space he his expected to live in and manage but this man says No, I need to expand my Horizon, and he his doing that perfectly well Like someone said to me, he his at the PEAK OF PERFECTION
Taemin is a very talented and unique artist. He's the idol of idols. He even created his own genre. His songs and MVs are very meaningful (It's his way of expressing himself). And I think he's doing a great job. Well, what do I expect. He's a member of Shinee who has been setting the trend in K-Pop for more than a decade now.
TAEMIN represents what cannot be precisely defined in the approach to gender and role play in the MV music video, and the choreography is so multidimensional and unpredictable that it is difficult to classify it into a specific genre. I am impressed that it pushes the boundaries once again and cannot be pigeonholed TAEMIN=TPOP 💎💎💎💎💎
Based on what we've heard and what he's said in interviews, I believe Taemin went through a lot to figure out himself as an artist and a person. THe pandemic derailed a lot of his career plans, and the whole trajectory of his tours and releases. Like he was supposed to do a Tokyo Dome solo concert which is a HUGE deal cause the Dome is 55k seats. But even before that around the time he did Why Not? The Dancer, he said that he was struggling with his career and dancing. He seems to have overcome that in the last two years and came out of it like a phoenix. His work lately just feels so HIM. Taemin didn't really have control of his image or career trajectory years ago, but it seems he has more control now as a successful senior artist. So my personal theory is that this video and song were kinda (its obviously dramatized for the performance lol) about him throwing off the weight of criticism and people talking and trying to define him without his input, both from the public and from his management. Also his journey to self define. Theres imagery about him being pulled and controlled by people, being confined and being an uncomfortable fit in his space, and then there's a lot of destruction and rebirth imagery in this video, what with the car crash, and finally him stepping out bare chested and "bleeding" but triumphant.
I think that even the most beloved and respected celebrities get hate and feel the pressure of fame and being in the public eye. Also Taemin knows and is friends with lots of people in the industry so he is probably talking for many of them. Especially kpop idols are constantly criticized for the smallest things both by Korean and international fans. Everytime I go on stan Twitter I get sick of the constant drama, hate, calling each other's faves "flops" and accusing them of everything, taking their words and actions out of context etc. So imagine how the idols, even the strongest and most confident of them, like Taemin, must feel. I feel that this song is a kind of continuation of his Japanese song "Famous", where he was talking about the way the fame can destroy you. There is even similar imagery of speeding and crashing the car in the MV. Also I appreciate that you really read the lyrics and tried to understand the message, because so many people are only like: "Wow, Taemin in a crop top!" and then go and continue stupid Twitter wars. Read the lyrics, people, he is talking to you!
In one word? Payback. Taemin is all about duality and balance, but this time, he fully embraces the Dark Side. Because even the kindest, sweetest person can be pushed to the limit, and there would be hell to pay. Beware the pawn that reaches the edge of enemy territory as it will turn into the most powerful chess piece. There are a ton of details in this MV - the "spiderwebs," the tattoos both real (yes! he showed them!) and drawn (and highly reminiscent of Jonghyun's in Internet War) the cramped room he's stuck in... but the one that jumped out at me is the drawing of the five-point diamond on his hand. His hands are painted black, but the black paint stops where the diamond begins. That last scene, for me, is a revelation of Taemin's complexity - not only is he capable of a Dark Side, but the "webstrings" that surround him actually come from him and he's fully in control.
Welcome back Yeti! Hope you’re feeling well. You have to look at translation of lyrics from @SHINeeTalks on Twitter. They are professional translators that are Shawols. They capture the force and subtlety of lyrics best, including a language of consent and violation. I read the final image of as rebirth/survival despite destruction. It’s also a variation on the T(aemin)-pose that is a leitmotif in his choreo. Thanks for your reaction!
The theories in the comments are very interesting, some really make sense. I know Taemin talked a bit about the song in his lives but it's cool to see the fans' extended interpretations. When I tell you I'm obsessed with this MV and the new album, I really mean it! Been on repeat the whole week. Taemin isn't letting us breathe for even a minute this comeback, so RUDE! lol. Let's not even get me started on the white fit - gaaahh! But I'm quite sure it's not a sports bra though but a cropped longsleeve top, but seems like he doesn't mind that people think it's a bra, and I love him for it :) Love watching other people react to this piece of art because it deserves all the hype and love and more. And always love your reactions to SHINee :D You sould listen to the whole album, there aren't any skips and "Strings" is just gorgeous! Also loving SHINee's new Japanese song "Superstar", it's a bop!
Ooooh~ Whatchu wearin? 😆 same reaction.. Some fans actually got mad when they found out he got a tattoo (flaming heart on his forearm). They have a weird obsession abt keeping a clean image. He also kept his hip tattoo hidden for about a year for unknown reasons. I do think it's also saying you can't box me in however you wanna think of me. This might not be related but he has a long history of people being judging him. He used to have a gripe about ppl calling him pretty when he was younger but now, he learned to embrace the softer side of him. Jonghyun even wrote Pretty Boy (ft Kai) for him for his debut album which tackles this issue. It's wonderfully written. Ppl also used to call him tone deaf and that he should only stick to dancing so that really motivated him to train vocally, and join Immortal Songs to prove himself to the general public. I think what he said was he always practices overtime to the point that he became infamous for being hardworking and until his vocal teacher noticed and asked him to record a pop song, which eventually led to his first solo album offer.
"I never thought I'd find a man in a bra hot".. both you and me. I agree with you, there's definitely many ways to interpret it. You're not getting deep for no reason haha. You asked for it... so here is me geeking like crazy. I think there's a theme in all of Taemin's discography about duality where he plays two characters constantly. Some examples are his white and black haired selves in Danger, his impossible vs possible self in Press Your Number, criminal/victim in Criminal, old self/rebirthed self in Idea, even in his Japanese discography with Under My Skin and Famous he talks about the two sides of things. He always puts visual contrast to show this as well... to me the two major opposing Taemin's in this were the masked one and the one wearing the plaid porcupine beret outfit, where the middle ground is the black and white Taemin. And there's the Taemin that's pushing the boundaries in a feminine but sexy way... but his make up shows him crying. I feel like the masked Taemin is the Taemin that puts up with everything and shows his artistic side... but he looks run over almost. The tattoos almost seem like small tire marks, and he looks like he's rotting (blackened stiff hands). Then we have this Taemin covered in spikes, trapped in a corner as he says and he's trying to defend himself as he can, but it's tight. This Taemin is also the one standing in front of the crashed car in many scenes and the one that crashes the car. Remarkable that his hands are dirty (not black) in all shots. Since his hands do the mouth movement I thought they were sort of representative of people saying shit, but I'm not sure since they're dirty in all scenes. To me the ending scene is a clear sign of rebirth, which is something we've seen before in Idea as well. It's both the Taemin-pose and the crucifixion pose. He's now covered in white. Some people are saying it's metaphorical for his own blood... some others are saying it's him surviving even if covered in shit people throw at him... and I personally think this is him painting over himself as he pleases. It's very open to interpretation but overall it seems to be saying that he'll do his own thing, but to stop pestering him with their creepy gossip, because he'll go off the deep end. But even after all that, he will come back and he will do as he pleases. He is both warning people to take his advice, but also saying he has to take his own advice (and do whatever he wants, ignore people etc).
I asked you delivered yay. I have seen elements of him pushing gender barriers before but this seemed to be the most prominent. ohhh the end pose interpretations are really interesting
@@Yetti. Yeah. I just found it intriguing how he looks like he's making a statement about pushing gender barriers... but the make up shows him crying. I think he feels partially trapped by those comments. He's been called feminine and "easy to confuse for a girl" a lot in the past. I've been following Taemin since 2008, and when all of SHINee came out in a show as girls, he was actually praised constantly for being pretty like a girl... in 2010 amd 2012 with his Lucifer and Sherlock hair he said he would cough manly so he could go in the bathroom. In 2014 he released his song pretty boy... he's come to terms with it imo, which is what Move was in a way. I just think this is a topic that has caused him grief by how people talk to him... which is congruent with the theme of people gossiping about his looks and assuming who he is just from that.
@@lori4021 aww thank you! Just can't help myself with Taemin. I've seen you many times around SHINee and Taemin videos so happy geeking to you too! Loads of shawol love your way 💕
Tbh... i dont even realized he is wearing a bra until i scroll my twitter. It looks good on him, ITS STILL SEXY AND MANLY BCS ITS HIM, LOL. Taemin can wear everything in this world and it will always look amazing on him.... Huftt🤧🤧🤧
TAEMIN WEARS A TOP BECAUSE HE WANTS IT,AS HE WILL DO WHATEVER HE WANTS,HE IS IN A POSITION THAT HE DOESN'T CARE WHAT PEOPLE THINK.....YOU CAN INVENT LOT OF STORIES ABOUT THE MEANING AND NOT BE RIGHT,HE LEAVES IT TO YOU,ONLY HIM KNOWS WHO THIS IS FOR,AND NO,NO ONE CAN STOP HIM!!! THE ONLY ONE IS HIMSELF!,JUST ENJOY IT AND DON'T TRY TO GET IT,THERE CAN BE 1000 VERSIONS,HAVE ONLY YOURS,MUCH LOVE♥
Honestly due to the whole different scenarios, trying to understand the meaning of each one, the outfits and choreography, I had to watch the MV first and then check the lyrics and match everything. So for me this a Taemin's recipe 😄 And I love to watch your reactions to Taemin and Shinee as well, since you're very sincere ^^
Thank you very much for reacting to Taemin♥️♥️♥️ you described and interpreted the video exactly what Taemin wanted to express. He is telling us that people will try to give you advice on how you should live your life but in the end they just want to make fun of you and Taemin defies what he hears and follows his own advice, practically this song is to reveal himself against everything that is. people say about you and that you do not need to receive advice from anyone because only you know yourself better than anyone
I love how you really take your time to analyse the message he wanted to convey. I am still in awe with the supreme outfit! This is such a bold move to wear this particular outfit, such a statement! And he looks just amazing with that sport bra and crop hoodie (and the supreme underwear with the sweatpants, the make up and the collar) and he is so unapologetically wearing it. I loved it so much, it should really be a thing with more men but it's probably something only Taemin will do.
I havent checked out his explanation or any other analysis but im captivated by the lyrics "best take my *own* advice". It's like practice what you preach. And i wonder if this is part of the message since his previous 2 title tracks were about internal conflict.
Ending pose can be related to the next MV too. It's taemin's signature pose T. He end the criminal MV with that pose and started IDEA MV with it to show the connection
I think personally he has not so much hate, his personality very humble and shy. But because he looks very pretty like girl and sometimes long hair,so many people want to put him in like female image and give some judges he don't like that before. Now he just creat his own art and his unique no matter male and female.Just show us the beauty. In this song I can see he wants to break the stereotype from popular. He maybe looks like very thin ,little?and not too much muscle, pretty like girl?but he can dance very powerful and sing very powerful and many energy inside.
I was waiting for you're reaction so bad I think the last scene is just portraying that even if you try to hurt him and pulling him in every direction and at a certain point he got to hurt himself due to the hate, he will get up despite the injuries and stay as pur to himself as ever (i taught that from the White paint, i might be totally wrong though😹😹) As for the crop top, it's just taemin trying to break stéréotypes, he can be manly asf but always having that feminin touch to him
Thats a great interpretation! I feel like the crop top was also for fans because we requested for him to do some video, a dance practice, performance, or something in a crop top so I feel like this was that last 'treat' for the fans before he leaves 😂
One word to describe this MV/song?
Mine is Stressful 😂😂

Taemin made sure that we are not gonna cheat on him during the hiatus😅
That true 😭😂
absolute FACTS
In the past weeks he is been making sure he leaves his "fingerprints on our hearts" so we can't forget him easily ;)
TOTALLY GURL 🤣
@@shineeng_kriss7520 that's such a cute way to word it:)
In the video, both at the beggining and end, with all that ink and pain on his hands and torso he's saying "I'm not that pure unstained Maknae anymore" and with his shirtless stained torso hes telling to the antis " Come and get me"
He's playing the piano, rapping and using falsetto because most of the time he's described as a sultry vocalist that sings in a breathy comfortable but unadventurous range (that analysis is even in that k-pop vocal analysis site).
The whole video/song seems like him responding to the Anti's
Said perfectly. Thanks!
This entire thread is 💯💯 but to add one thing it’s funny that all these antis haters whatever you wanna call them the same idols that they love and cherish and are so wonderful they look up to him they respect him they want to aspire to be like him.Haters are just fans
Looks like Minho isn’t the only one sick of all our trash
😂😂😂 i laughed out loud at this
😂That makes lot of sense.
Thanks for the explanation, it is interesting to bee him as a rebel. I'll take your advice 😉 on the future content.
@@Yetti. Both Taemin and Jonghyun are/were really outspoken, so I'm sure there is a lot of hate we don't see
Little does Yetti know that Taemin is a part of a huuuuge universe and he might be evil 😅😭

I like if you watch that too.
he's been rapping since like 'why so serious?' and even before that lol.
@@j2kay93 saying now is not literally just now. I mean he did it step by step. Get the point simply
hating Taemin = Insanity
@@Yetti. I couldn’t agree more :)
So shawol, dont you dare cheat on them
We won't. We will never cheat on him. We will faithfully wait for his comeback.
Point 9: Taemin's signature pose at the end (yes, the martyr pose lol)
Point 10: Taemin not letting anyone forget him during his hiatus.
Same I didn't expect to be as surprised as I was. Love the analysis I missed point 1/2 so i'm going to go back and check them - thank you
Love everything you said but I don't think it's a bra or a thong, it's more probably long sleeves and a boxer hahaha (how could he dance like that in thongs ? And we would see his armpits if it was a bra)

I just love that he found a way to push the barrier even further...he didn’t just give you a crop top moment...he was like “no that’s been done, I’ve also done it before” ... let me give you a matching athletic set moment
I just feels like he pulls off androgyny so well... don’t know how many other men could pull off a sports bra, long hair and a choker so effortlessly... like Taemin does it in a way that makes it so it’s not a thing.... it didn’t feel like he was making a huge statement (I mean he obviously was when you put the outfit within the context of the video, with the lyrics and all the other imagery)...it just felt that was just the outfit he decided to wear...
He seems so comfortable playing with masculine and feminine motifs.... to the point where it’s kinda hard to think of him as either...he’s neither particularly masculine or particularly feminine.... he’s just Taemin

Another theme in "Advice" is about how Taemin is embracing his androgynous side -- but on his own terms -- which I think is a continuation of the message in his "Move" MV. You also see him wearing makeup, but it's smeared on his face, as if to say, "people may think of me as a 'Pretty Boy,' but I don't care about looking pretty."
In the lyrics where he says "floppy" I think he's talking about knowing about or hearing firsthand the things people are saying about him, but he is choosing not to pay attention to them because what they're saying is flopping or doesn't hold any weight or have any substance, etc.
He is redefining hotness for me 🤣
Adding to what everyone is saying about the m/v meaning: just a theory but maybe the black side represents the people's negative opinions about him (which is why his hands turn black while playing the piano) and the white side represents his fans' extremely positive opinions about him and how both side constantly try to "unlock" his identity.
Ohh maybe that's why he did the ending pose - hes spreading the message for others???
I agree @Triasha Das I believed that watching this mv I saw that
@@Yetti. no the ending pose is something like his signature pose he did that several times in his others mv like Move, Idea and Criminal.
Definitely a good read. I also thought it was his back off to OT4holes. I legit think he'd haul off and punch out anyone who tried to hurt Jinki.
The first thing I thought about when I saw the tattoos and the black paint was Jonghyun in Internet War. Jonghyun wanted to make a point about cyberbullying with that performance. Now it's Taemin's turn to re-emphasize.
8:46 Existential crisis courtesy of Lee Taemin. Welcome to your first Taemin solo comeback.
Hahaha we all thought he was wearing a bra but it's actually a crop long-sleeved shirt.
I searched it up and they look so cute. I need to see him in it without the sweater!!!
@@maggot2259 yes in musicshow 😆😆
girl, don't be surprised. After all he is THE ONE AND ONLY TAEMIN!
First time he is showing his hip tattoo...❤️ We love it😂
He definitely gets his fare share of hate.
True his sexiness is classy. And stressful. Let’s not forget that 😅
@@Yetti. Hahahaha true. I’m too old for this baby, so I try my best not to focus on his sexiness 🙈😋😂
Taemin does a crucifixion pose a lot. I tend to interpret it as his last word on something, “it is finished.” I love him and his work so much.
Ohh DEEP is he a christian?
@@Yetti. i believe he is Roman Catholic.
@@aniumar5964 yes, and he is VERY devout.
@@Yetti.
@dowdydiva - Michael Jackson also used to do the arms outstretched pose and was criticized for doing that!!
He really do left us with something **no words can describe this** before enlisted! Stream advice !!
Taemin is like no other KPOP Idol. One word to describe him is ART. Enjoyed your reaction.
Hey, Yetti. Nice to have you back & I love how Taem greeted you back ;)
As you said, there's nothing to hate on him for. He's just busy creating art. But, unfortunately, haters don't need a reason to hate :(
As you probably already know...when he debuted at 15 years of age, boy could he dance...but he couldn't sing yet and an instructor had even said he was tone deaf.
Thanks 😊 and thanks for the essay! 😀 I definitely feel this has a lot of meaning for him. Some that we can discover and some that is personal.

Asha G, thank you for your well thought out explanation. Concise and precise.
@@ilesmom1 aww! Thanks.
Taemin coming back to reset the entire kpop industry every time!
He's a true artist. 100%. No questions. We're not in his league.
Idol of idol’s lee king TAEMIN 🔥
and comment of the year goes to "I never thought i'd find a man in a bra HOT" by Yetti!!! LOL
out of tons of Advice reactions i've been binge watching since yesterday lol, yours about 'the keys to my lock' definitely my most favourite Yetti. i think its really accurate or the most realistic if we relate it to the whole concept.
i loooooove the depth of the lyrics
Who needs drugs when you have taemin to keep you addicted 😂😂 I missed you girl!!
Miss you too x
I was waiting for your reaction and I wasn't disappointed! I'm glad to see you back for this great occasion!
Taemin is definitely one of a kind and he outdid himself this time. I think he did what he really wanted for this mini-album, to keep us as fans for when he comes back from the military.
It's a promise to us that he will be back and give us more of him than what we used to hear. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
Thank you 💓 what's your favorite song on the album?

Thanks 😊 I didn’t realise the irony with joining the military. 😬
TAEMIN IS DANGEROUS
You should have seem me sweating while watching this MV yesterday 😅
Taemin always does something new every single time he comes back, because he wants to show different colors of his 😊 This time around, he tries to describe idols life generally, i guess. How hard it actually is! how captured they feel themselves sometimes, by all that pressure they get from fans/untifans or industry.
Thank you for your honest reactions always ❤ i feel so happy, seeing people enjoying and appreciating his hardwork!
I wish I could. How long have you been with him?
@@Yetti. I became a Shawol in 2010 and Taemin is my ult bias since 2014, after Danger era 💎

Your reaction was the same as mine - who has the audacity to hate on this man?!
people just hate on because they're threatened by his talent smh
"I never thought I would find a man in a bra hot" got me lol
But he is actually getting a bit criticize now jut for this dress, some Korean says it's awkward, too feminine, with the long hair, blablabla...
I thought we are living in 21th century?
He is pushing the boundaries so it will come with some criticism but like he said - best take my own advice!
I am struck by how how often he uses masks in his videos. So many masks. So many Taemins. And this video and lyrics tell us that we still haven't figured him out. (And he may never let us do so.)
You're going to react to Taemin on MAMA 2020?! Good. He SLAYED

Es un verdadero ARTISTA multitalento, inigualable invalorable de SM INTERTAIMEN .La leyenda LEE TAEMIN El REY de REYES el revolucionario innovador del KPOP ❤️👑💯👋👋
And for the car crash, it just like him saying, crush me down Everytime you want but I still keep coming back majestically
And you see the tiny room he his in around the beginning of the Mv, that just like the space he his expected to live in and manage but this man says No, I need to expand my Horizon, and he his doing that perfectly well
Like someone said to me, he his at the PEAK OF PERFECTION
Team has every 1 going crazy 😂😂😂😍 and I’m loving IT soo MUcH🔥🔥🔥
Taemin is a very talented and unique artist. He's the idol of idols. He even created his own genre. His songs and MVs are very meaningful (It's his way of expressing himself). And I think he's doing a great job. Well, what do I expect. He's a member of Shinee who has been setting the trend in K-Pop for more than a decade now.
He’s very very special
TAEMIN represents what cannot be precisely defined in the approach to gender and role play in the MV music video, and the choreography is so multidimensional and unpredictable that it is difficult to classify it into a specific genre.
I am impressed that it pushes the boundaries once again and cannot be pigeonholed
TAEMIN=TPOP
💎💎💎💎💎
Actually it's not a bra hahaha, it's a supreme long sleeve crop top, but it's indeed a ladies cloth 😆
Ohhi really thought it's a sports bra though ,thanks for letting me know
@@hanniejongjong yes, because when he lifted his arm, we can't see his armpit, so it's not a sport bra 😁
I still can't process this song, I like it more and more the more I listen to it lmao he's a masterpiece !
No but it sounds SO MUCH BETTER than from the concert too skudygcukygdcuisg!!
I feel that skudygcukygdcuisg!! excited to watch it together!
Hi ohhh thanks I'll definitely geek out with that
The theories in the comments are very interesting, some really make sense.

Why would people be angry because he got a tattoo- they don’t know or own him - just enjoy what he presents.
this is definitely the best reaction to taemin's ADVICE that i've seen!!! i love how you analyse the video, lyrics, sound, and outfits!!
Yeah, my jaw dropped, too, at first view. You reacted so like the way I did.
Not that he doesn't look amazingly hot haha. But this is my take on it. Geeking for sure here.
Love your analysis and geeking out 😊
@@lori4021 aww thank you! Just can't help myself with Taemin. I've seen you many times around SHINee and Taemin videos so happy geeking to you too! Loads of shawol love your way 💕
this really is his final middle finger to social norms and media standards before he enlists lol
Lucky that I have seen advice on beyond live before but...I die when Taemin in Supreme appear 555
Tbh... i dont even realized he is wearing a bra until i scroll my twitter. It looks good on him, ITS STILL SEXY AND MANLY BCS ITS HIM, LOL. Taemin can wear everything in this world and it will always look amazing on him.... Huftt🤧🤧🤧
I totally loved the reaction.
Taemin is truly one to watch out for.
He's artistic though! Loved it❤
Hi, he is. Love your reactions too!!!!
I love tha even as a soloist Taemin, you can see hints of SHINee Taemin.
Love your reaction :)
"I never thought I'd find a man in a bra hot."
That had me dead lol
Honestly due to the whole different scenarios, trying to understand the meaning of each one, the outfits and choreography, I had to watch the MV first and then check the lyrics and match everything. So for me this a Taemin's recipe 😄
And I love to watch your reactions to Taemin and Shinee as well, since you're very sincere ^^
Thank you - I see something new each time.
Maybe he's saying you can throw whatever words at him(THE PAINT) he will stand tall as himself (his signature pose).....maybe?
Ohh that's true, I think i've seen him do that before
Thank you very much for reacting to Taemin♥️♥️♥️
you described and interpreted the video exactly what Taemin wanted to express.
True ....be strong taemin don't let haters bring you down follow your heart you know what the best and we will always support and love you.
ohoh it’s not a bra, it’s a long sleeve crop top
Taemin the legendary solo. He has set the bar so high, no one can even reach it. 💕Now just imagine Kpop without Taemin for 18 months. Ugh!
I need a stage with this white outfit!!
be careful what you ask for 😅
and you got it today! Congrats :D
The comment you said at the intro was the same thing I thought when I first saw the mv ,like what the hell ! He is ......
Fact: Taemin makes you think deep about everything he does. He is a true artist and he goes back to the fundamentals
You can't con-Taemin ❤️❤️
Martyr Jesus pose is Taemin’s signature move!
I havent checked out his explanation or any other analysis but im captivated by the lyrics "best take my *own* advice". It's like practice what you preach. And i wonder if this is part of the message since his previous 2 title tracks were about internal conflict.
TAEMIN ES APODADO EL REY DE LOS CONCEPTOS POR SUS LADOS DIFERENTES DE DUALIDAD
Ending pose can be related to the next MV too. It's taemin's signature pose T. He end the criminal MV with that pose and started IDEA MV with it to show the connection
Girl i missed you. I hope you're alright. Happy to have you here with a Taemin react. ♡
I missed you too 💓
I think personally he has not so much hate, his personality very humble and shy. But because he looks very pretty like girl and sometimes long hair,so many people want to put him in like female image and give some judges he don't like that before.
Now he just creat his own art and his unique
no matter male and female.Just show us the beauty.
In this song I can see he wants to break the stereotype from popular. He maybe looks like very thin ,little?and not too much muscle, pretty like girl?but he can dance very powerful and sing very powerful and many energy inside.
I was waiting for you're reaction so bad
I think the last scene is just portraying that even if you try to hurt him and pulling him in every direction and at a certain point he got to hurt himself due to the hate, he will get up despite the injuries and stay as pur to himself as ever (i taught that from the White paint, i might be totally wrong though😹😹)
As for the crop top, it's just taemin trying to break stéréotypes, he can be manly asf but always having that feminin touch to him
Thanks 😀 I feel like even if we interpret it incorrectly, that's the point - its art to be discussed
Thats a great interpretation! I feel like the crop top was also for fans because we requested for him to do some video, a dance practice, performance, or something in a crop top so I feel like this was that last 'treat' for the fans before he leaves 😂
God-Taem is in the hooouuuuse! 😌
Taemin was wearing a ladies long sleeve crop top with a pullover hoodie crop top
