This might be his peak. I believe this is around the same time as the filming of Bloodbath's Wacken Carnage DVD and Unblessing the Purity EP, and he sounds like an absolute monster in both of those too.
@@toprak3479 this is the begging of his downfall -in my opinion- (2006), his diction is not that good throughout the show however these still have a fierce and wet sound and are better than anything he’s done since watershed. Bloodbath was 2005 ;) in my personal opinion, his peak was 2003-4 and then remained at that peak till 2006. It’s a shame he can’t scream anymore but I guess it’s better than if he still tried and it sounded shit. (Album wise)
@tactical_ninjas_8748 I believe his growls from the Lamentations live album sounds the best, but I don't like the mixing that much in that one. In the round house tapes, mikael still sounds like a demon, but not as much range but still really good. However, in the royal albert hall concert you can definately hear a decline in his range, he still sounds good but it's just not as powerful, but this could also be due to how many songs he has to perform in that concert. In garden of the titans he definately lost his demon sound, but instrumental and mixing wise is astounding. They play tight as hell, and everything with clean vocals sounds perfect, just the growls leave more to be desired. Impressive non the less and a very amazing musician in all.
This band has set a standard that many bands will forever fall short of. They have surpassed the bands I thought we're my fav of all time. Their musicianship is beyond that of all other bands. The lyrics so dark and deep. All hail the mighty OPETH
Music has only made me teary twice in my lifetime, but I'm proud to say it was Opeth that did it both times. This song and Faith in Others. Absolutely fantastic band.
I dont get what everyone loves about faith in others. They are my favorite band and i absolutely love EVERY album they've done, and i can truly say it's one of my top 5 least favorite songs in their discography. Maybe I'm misinterpreting the lyrics or looking for more technicality i dunno
