I've wants a horse my whole life, I've Watched thousands of these videos and I get so sad when I see all these people getting horses! But I'm happy for them
The horse's eyes glittered when the girl hugged him. Awww cutie! The horse's been waiting his whole life for a little girl of his own. This is a magical day, not only for the girl, but the horse alike. Beautiful.
I thought I would never get a horse in till I was 20. but life got me to go and see her (maggie) and than ride her and show how good I was for her. and my dad sad I could have her. work hard and you will get a horse do not let life get in the way.
Despite all the comments, this video I loved. I have owned and showed horses my whole life. It's not very often you get to do something like this where true family and love rise above all the little things we want to make negative comments about ,when it's just a video of what a family does when they come together. Pure & Simple.
The bond between a girl and her horse is true, neither judging one another, teaching each other about life and compassion. Something about this bond is calming for both. Owning a horse teaches one so much about life, how to treat and care for each other young and old, how to listen and how to be there in the good and bad times. She will learn not to be afraid of getting dirty and that appearances dont matter to most of the breathing things that live in this world.
I would have cut off a limb to have a horse as a child. What wonderful parents you are! My friend Tracey had a Welsh pony stallion as a child--he took care of her like she was glass, and loved her beyond belief. It's obvious this pony loves Lydia as much as she loves him--what a kind eye he has. I hope she keeps him all her life. :)
Thank you. It was a special time for a very special little girl. She normally is just so energetic, however something about that horse puts her in a different place.
i love the beginning commentary, this is by far the best and most persuasive video ive seen to help convince wary parents of why a horse would be a good experience for one to own (: love it!!
this video is absolutely amazing... and so true it brought tears to my eyes as it is exactly what i feel with my horses! thank you for this special video
I just received a Christmas horse surprise today. I didn't cry, but I screamed (which I know u aren't supposed to do around horses, it was an exception for that moment though obviously. No horses were spooked. My parents told me my favorite lesson horse was sold when she was sold... to me!!! It started off rough though... I didn't like her at first and would get angry when I had to ride her. Now... she's the love of my life!!!
love this video!!!!! love the footage, surprise, and narration! it is all oh so totally perfect! :) i love the footage of the stables! :) love, love, love, LOVE IT!
Thank you, bigtxgirl! Lydia's response is entirely appropriate to the situation. She is quietly joyful Many of you commenting fail to realize that stallions are highly sensitive, and appreciate peace and quiet, and gentle, friendly interaction. Lydia is clearly already a competent horse handler and a self-controlled young woman. She and Gamblin' Man have established trust, I can tell.
This almost made me cry. Aww I wish this was me. I have been begging for a horse for the past 14 years. We dont have any place to keep one though. Im just happy that at least this girl's Christmas wish came true :)
@tlk40us This is awesome! It took me back to a time when I was that young girl surprised by a horse of my own. My parents surprised with a beautiful, wonderful horse - a former barrel racer. I called her Baby and she became my best friend. To this day... many years later... i still miss her. i now have 2 horses once again.... but there is nothing like the1st horse.... Thank you for reminding me of the gift from way back when. I have tears in my eyes... this is beautiful!
I agree cuz the stallions most people typically see r the showing ones that r highstrung thoroughbred ones, but ones like the one in this video look placid and loving
The video is great. I love the beginning. It's very well made! Though I cried because I've always wanted a horse so much. We even live on a farm and I am able to pay for everything and I have had tons of riding lessons but it's still no.
Yesterday my mom was having a melt down and said, "Your dad loves me so much and sometimes i feel like i don't love him back as much." And i hugged her and we both cried together, then she was like, "You don't know how much I want to put a big red bow around a horses neck for yo, but i can't, and that just breaks my heart." And that made me cry even more because I know how she felt.. I take lessons and have been taking lessons for a year now and I want a horse SO badly, but I know how much it is, and what it comes with. What my mom said made my day and also made me cry. I wish, I REALLY wish. Just not today, someday, just not today. I just hope one day my mom can really put a big red bow around a horses neck for me. She would do anything for me. Just not a horse, it's too much. When i'm older I will buy a horse and one day surprise my child (If they are into horses) With a horse, or any type of animal of their choice. I wish, I really do. :')
In a way you not having a horse yet can benefit you because you have only been riding for a year which means that you are still very new to riding. Just think that every riding lesson that you have, you are getting closer to owning your own horse, thats something that I do. I have been riding for 9 years now and im 15 and do not own a horse. My mum is going to loan a horse for me soon which is something that i am very happy about. Dont worry because you will have a horse to call you own, you just need to wait for the right time to come
First I would like to say; Lovely Morgan, they don't make them that way anymore. Second, to those saying stallions are dangerous, don't get a young girl a stallion. I've had two different stallions in my lifetime and worked with many more, it all depends on the horse. Some stallions will be the best horses you ever work with and Morgans, especially foundation like him, are known for being gentle and level headed. Besides it seemed like they already knew the horse and what his temperament was.
This is absolutely beautiful! It brought me to tears! Wonderful narration! :) That girl has a gorgeous horse! She is very lucky! How are they doing together?
We really weren't sure how she would react. I think with the number of people there it kinda got to her. I was told a week later that when she got home she kept giving her parents hugs.
i watch this video so many times...and every time it makes my determination that much stronger to own this arabian stallion i know...his name is Nazeem...he is beautiful strong intelligent and my teacher
She's a very hyper active child. It was just so interesting how mature she was when she was presented with the horse. That and there were lights and a small camera crew with a mic boom. So that's pretty intimidating. Here parents told me for the next few weeks she just kept coming up to them and taking them telling them how much she loved them.
Could anyone else say something so rude? Grow up! I think it was wonderful! So what if she had had no experience? She will now! You could see in her eyes that she was thinking of all the adventures they were going to have and all that she could do and all her dreams that had just come true in those few seconds. This is a great video, its so precious. She was so excited she didn't know what to do.
this made me cry, I have once had horses, but they for different reasons had to be sold or got taken away by there real owner, but i never got to say goodbye to one of my many horses, and this video made me cry cuz i wish my dad would understand how much I need/want a pony,he got me one not long ago,but i had to sell him,but he got stolen anyway:'(This pony looks like he loovess that kid:)I would KILL to hav a pony like that, even if he isn't a top flash show pony looking pony,he is my fav breed
She will understand the value of money, how every dollar can be translated into bales of hay, or bags of feed. She will have a teacher that can not speak, nor Write, nor communicate beyond body language and reactions. She will learn to read her surroundings for both the safe and un-safe, but most of all she will learn to judge people as she judges a horse. She will look beyond appearances and trappings to see the beauty of what is within.
She knew of the horse, however was saving money for a horse. Although he is older the parents felt because of its show training he would be better in the long run. Gambler loves the attention.
i think its fine for them to get her a stallion obviously he is a good boy and she has rode him before from the comment he made "after searching for a perfect horse they came back to one she had ridden before and that it was trained very well and enjoyed being shown" you never know they might have had plans to geld him later or not but if she can handle him thats a good thing i have a morgan gelding i bought my first horse so i didnt get the chance to cry or be suprised but i think its great
It was written by myself and another individual. Like the tails of a boy and his dog a girl and her horse produces an inevitable bond. Most young ladies only dream of owning a horse living out their fantasies with models, books or even an imaginary friend. In time the dreams are pushed with age and life, however only a special few get the privilege of owning one.
Update on the Horse. It has been over a year since the two were brought together AS OWNERS!!! She has been working with the horse for the year prior to before he was purchased. Gambler was brought home in December and the young lady gets up and feeds him every morning before school and cleans his stall. She is a very shy young lady. FYI the horse follows her around like a dog. He is great with her and she with him.
Great footage, just want say your work is inspiring. Just read an article on videomaker about you, thats how I got to see this video. Keep up the good work.
I have had a dream to ride a horse ever since my dad took me to ride a pony at a party place when i was 3 i love horses just like dudes like video games
well it`s a beautiful video and I`m happy for this lucky girl. But she isn`t surprised at all, is she? I would cry, really I would. Well okaaay, I`m feeling like I am the luckiest person on earth when I`m in a room with animals ;D
It was all of the people, lights, camera, and crew. Her parents told me for the next few weeks she would just come up to them for no reason and give them hugs. It's not every day a film crew is at your house.
@whittlegirls im srry 2 hear about ur foot hope it feels better soon. Im glad 2 here that u can work at a stable. i wish i could work at a stable. Feel Better Soon
lol they vacumed the horse i have never seen that :P ......... good video i like the begining it shows lots of the reasons i wish i had a horse but i would never get a stallion as my first horse
gohs if she didnt cry i certainly was :) such a well made video i wihs i got a horse but money is a big factor and we have never had much of it so u are very lucky lydia enjoy him wont u
dont give up hope. My arents wouldn't let me hav one either, but my mum went up to someone door and asked if we could pat there horses (my sister and I) and then my mum asked if someone brushes them alot, and then the lady offered for us to come nad brush and ride her horses, and she was a stranger, but then after 3 yrs of riding her pony after she moved out, she took the horses away without telling us and i never go tot say goodbye, but there is more to it. Anyway dont give up hope yet
I've wants a horse my whole life, I've Watched thousands of these videos and I get so sad when I see all these people getting horses! But I'm happy for them
its clear this horse knows it will be loved and cared for and shows its gratitude.
lovely video

This is a beautiful video~! Made me cry!
This vid is very romantic and kitschie, too. She might learn really soon that owning a horse means 90% blood sweat and tears and 10% fun and joy. ;0)
She's been riding. The hourse is very well natured and loves to be ridden. When he pulls his cart he just struts like he's the king of the world.
This almost made me cry. Aww I wish this was me. I have been begging for a horse for the past 14 years. We dont have any place to keep one though. Im just happy that at least this girl's Christmas wish came true :)

Either they don't know the difference between a gelding and a stallion or they just gave a young child a friggin stallion.
