honestly from what i've heard thus far astros power comes from SSG and using SSR when needed. I don't think a blog site needs ANY SSR but I shall watch nonetheless Brad! glad you still make these just gettin back onto we dev learning after using gatsby for way too long and never pushing myself to learn new technologies. always felt clunky

Thank you for your invaluable role in my journey to becoming a software developer. Your clear and patient explanations have been a constant guide, especially for someone like me with a less-than-perfect memory. Despite the challenges, your teaching style has made complex concepts accessible and fostered my continuous growth.
I delved into development in my early 40s, dedicating five years to learning before landing my first job. Understanding my learning process was key, and your content played a pivotal role in that discovery. Your calm and collected manner always serves as a reminder of the ongoing learning journey we're all on.
Looking ahead, I plan to create Udemy courses on working with colleagues with diverse abilities, inspired by my own experiences. Your impact extends beyond individual growth, influencing how we collaborate and support each other.
Every new video of yours is a welcomed opportunity for learning and inspiration. Wishing you and your family a joyful holiday season. Cheers! 🤟☕

I really love these videos, but I do wish there were some sort of database tie-in with them so we'd know how to integrate that with it. Because nobody's going to be wanting to add articles statically.
And not just Firebase, maybe PostgreSQL would be a nice change.

I just converted my Wordpress website to a static site using nextjs in Cursor with AI. The blog posts are markdown with front matter so it grabs the categories from the posts and makes the menu from that. I scp’d the files to the server after moving the Wordpress files and it worked instantly. I used a bit of v0 to improve the layout. 55 years old getting back into dev which is fun but I mostly did middleware integration so not really web dev.

Awesome Course. Im still at the beginning but so far so awesome. I have checked the Image size of the laptop image. When you put the source to the default path, then it will not be optimized even with Image at the beginning. But when you import it like with the logo it will be optimized from 1.6MB to 15.4kB :)

How come on the Vercel deployment the images on the About page take forever to load? Sometimes they load pretty quick and other times not so much. I have noticed this with Astro sites, even the sites I have built with Astro. Sometimes, the images just don't load at all and I don't know what it is about that framework that causes that. It's making me just want to avoid using their image component.
Also, it's not a Vercel thing because I deployed some Astro apps to Railway and Netlify with the same issues.

@Traversy Media, thanks for the tutorial, it is my first time with Astro.
I think there is an issue with the pubDate from the Article component:
{formatDate(article.data.pubDate)} is showing the article Day - 1 not the correct date from the article.
You can see on your course it also happens, when you change from hardcoded to pubDate it changes the day to -1.
    Any idea why?
