I agree the damage on the high end needed to be scaled back, but I'm still not sure about the numbers they've given us. 50+ STR kits feel fair now, but people who can only afford 35-40str are gonna be struggling. 40str bear was not that good before, it really didn't need a 20% nerf. What they should do is make it a soft cap of diminishing returns. So instead of scaling at a flat 0.75 for str/agi, imo it should be 1.0 scaling under 40, then 0.5 for 40-50 and 0.25 for 50+. That way we end up at the same place for everyone on the high end who were one/two tapping, but still gives low-mid tier druids a chance without getting insta stomped by every fighter/barb they run into
Natural healing should also increase allies buff duration by 10% imo. That aside, im glad youve found a way to enjoy it in trios. For us solo guys the class is basically bricked. Also get a damn ceramonial staff mr support.
Try druid in solos. The class isnt done yet, it is still good. If you disregard having to shapeshift probably 15+ times a fight and use almost all your spells against warlocks, rangers, wizards, bards and fighters. The class is very much playable. If you got all your tech mastered and focus on good positoning, the class is great.
@@whatwentwrong369fully agree. Sure I had to reset and reposition to win a lot of fights but I’ve been going on a killing spree in solos the past couple of days
16:54 Ok but what if you play solo?? What if I’ve only played this game for about 120 hours or so and have fallen in love with Druid mobility? I was in the same boat not too long ago, before the patch. Definitely recommend you give full squire gear a try, & get a feeling for what the new damage output does on real enemies. Practice panther & bear against pve, & try to think how you would like to be able to move when fighting players, & practice that against pve. Patch sucks. Hopefully it will be somewhat mitigated in the future. At least we hit way harder in squire / white gear. 😑
@@Aroused_Milk great.. so another extraction game I’m gonna abandon, just like cycle: frontier, because everyone is running around as a group and solo play has zero pvp potential
@@MistPhD I feel you bro. I’m a Druid main, but I prefer trios. Thing is it’s almost impossible to balance solos with class counter in the game. Trios is much smoother balance wise I really hope they revert the action speed nerf to bear because it’s way too slow
Solo bear only here, action hurts alot but you don’t need as much strength so I recommend dexterity bear feels great I’m still making bank for cheap 2k max 25-30 strength 30-40 dex cheers (still hoping action nerf revert base bear slow asf)
Our brothers are losing faith. Hold the Line! Edit: as i play solo almost exclusively, i have plans for solo druid. I’ll be posting a post nerf guide soon. I kind of want to wait a week as i feel they will probably revert the action speed change soon.
I'm fine with the nerfs aside from the action speed. That's really what's killing me, but I'm making it work. You need to stack 10% AS if you want a chance of hitting any decent player
Bro's got that Dex kit in his stash for action speed testing 😂 I agree the damage nerfs is a bit harsh but mostly fine, on the bright side having some base damage opens up more build paths and situational decisions(why I like Druid) 👍 but yeah, bear is honestly just a tankier treant against good players now for those paws in slow motion 😅
If they want to remove 1shotting ability to help bad players who can't avoid the slow right-click, then they could have just reduced the scaling without nerfing action speed. Hell, they should have INCREASED the action speed to keep the DPS the same and see how that feels.
i agree the action speed nerf was unnecessary. i get the impression bear form is supposed to act like a zoning tool rather than assassinating people; like just the threat of the damage can give a lot of space to your team. they could honestly remove a lot of bears damage and still accomplish that, for example by giving bear more health to compensate. it doesnt need to be able to delete people, it just needs to be a bad idea for people to trade with you
@@unholymackerel8072 So that it wouldn't feel as bad being one-shot as a rogue. It's easier for the druid to hit, but it takes more hits.... which also tend to knock people away from the druid. This would allow squishy classes to make more mistakes against druids. That said, maybe keeping the same DPS would require a ridiculous amount of action speed... but nerfing both of those aspects was way over the top.
@DD-zh4by I'm looking at balance for well-geared, skilled players... not perma-noobs like you who don't know how to play against the class and is STILL going to hit despite the action speed nerf, hahaha
so not only i get constant hate for playing the class i enjoy the most, but now they rendered it unplayable in the only gamemode i play (solos)? yeah, maybe it's time for me to find another game :(
@mrb5zx not unplayable at all. You guys just need to try panther/bear hybrid build. It feels the same as before the nerf aside from the action speed nerf
Yeah I'm still getting plenty of kills solo. You just need to lean way more into the mobility and use your spells. Get some hits, reset, reposition, come back, etc. If you were only shifting bear and right before then yeah, you won't win any "fair" 1v1 damage trade ever. But as druid you still have all the tricks you need to never take the fair fight
I dont think that nerf is too much of an issue. Druid is still good in solos if you play your shapeshifting tech well, to dodge, reposition and to hit bear nukes. In duos and trios I can definitely see more benefit to be a support class but playing both offense and defense correctly can still carry. For the love of gosh, plz use your human form more to poke people down. Many druids forget they actually have that weapon. Ive had to win almost all my fights using human form in solos. Duos and trios I use animal forms to reposition and the occasional bear right click or panther silence.
I like this nerf very much, wish they nerfed bear and panther form even more, they need to also make rats slower and bigger, disable casting on dreamwalk and decrease thorn coat 5 damage to 3, then the class will be finally balanced

Sadly for Yall balance will never be made around solo play.
Trios is where they balance at. Think of solos as a fuck fest with counters
