Man the hype there was in 2015 for this game everyone was talking about it in school and when those DLC packs came out with Jason, Letherface, Alien and Predator just made the game so fun

one of the things I love the most about this game's story is that Kotal Kahn is NEVER just a straight up 'gonna be a warmongering dictator' type bad guy. he's an antagonist, but every conclusion he comes to is logical and for the betterment of his realm. can't trust Raiden to keep the amulet safe when he's lost it twice, his right hand betrayed him and stole the amulet at the same time as raiden's enemies escaped, so he's going to assume she's working with him, even when he goes to earthrealm at the end he only fights because killing the kombat kids is a good way to buy time for outworld to bolster their defenses. he's an antagonist, but not a villain and I really like that about him.
I'm so mad they ruined him in the next installment.
@@L16htW4rr10rIt’s sad because the second chapter of 11 showcases him BEAUTIFULLY. He takes out Baraka and Skarlet and then whoops SHAO FUCKING KAHN and that’s it. He should’ve been so much more

@@crimsonhunter7598 probably? Kotal actually gave a damn about his people. Shao Kahn did pretty much nothing positive for anyone except himself and his crazy evil wife.
Sub-Zero is technically the strongest kharacter in the story. Beating the kombat kids WHILE holding back plus wrecking Kotal Kahn's army with the Lin Kuei.
Yeah but also the kombat kids didn't know how to work as a team until later in the game

I'm actually one of those people who really enjoyed the stories of all the new MK games. Glad to see you're still doing this ^^
Most people enjoyed the stories from MK9 to MK11. It’s probably why MK1’s first trailer focuses on the story
One thing that I remember from this game was Steve Blum as Sub Zero. Perfect choice. You gotta admire the man’s range. He can voice the traitorous and pathetic Starscream in Transformers Prime, the robotic Shockwave in the Fall of Cybertron video game, Wolverine (who needs no introduction) in Wolverine and the X-Men and the X-men anime, the manic Green Goblin, and the honorable yet stoic Kuai Liang (Sub Zero’s real name) in Mortal Kombat.

Johnny for me had the best arc in the trilogy. Loved him in 11, specially the interactions with his younger self

Granted, his Shang is almost as good as Tagawa's, so it's not much of a loss. He absolutely nails that methodical, diabolical delivery that made Aftermath Shang steal the show.
I have got to say that in today's age where everything is polarized, where the internet is such a pit of toxicity that it is often hard to enjoy simple things like a video game or movie. Enter GamingWins whose positivity is simply infectious, even when he brings up criticism he still manages to be constructive. In other words, we should all be very glad this channel exists, I know I am.
Combos in this game was amazing. Something about launching someone in the air and being able to grab them mid-air during a combo is so satisfying and stylish.

Similar to comic books, video games rarely allow their characters to grow up, have families, and deepen their bonds. Mortal Kombat was the last game I'd suspect to allow their character to grow old, but they did, and it was absolutely amazing.
They may be starting from scratch again, but I'm confident that NetherRealm will continue to allow their characters to grow, while also ripping their extremities apart.

Thanks for making this vid; I enjoyed it immensely and the MK fandom could always use a little more positivity. Kung Jin's arc is actually my favorite of the new characters. The guy's got an attitude to start and a lot to prove (ditto Cassie, which is probably why they get on so badly at first), but I also think he's bitter. Every other Kombat Kid in the squad has a parent or mentor who got dragged out of Revenant territory, while his idolized cousin/uncle Lao is still one of Quan Chi's undead. But he still gets over himself enough to extend some empathy to Jacqui and learns to work with the team. Plus I gotta love a martial badass bookworm. ;)
This and Injustice 1 were games my son and I bonded with. I would come home from work and he would pull off crazy combos.
This game came out 8 years ago. Wow.

for all the controversy this game created It is certainly canon that Cassie Cage defeated Shinnok by dropping into the splits and punching his nuts into paste.
The amount of disrespect they gave my boy kotal in both X and 11 is something I'll never forgive NRS for.

I remember when I downloaded the game for the first time 2 years ago because it was free. I didn't expect much, 11 was out already at that point too after all, but damn did I get sucked into it quickly. A week after I got, a friend came over and before we realized we spend 8 hours straight beating each other up while watching how we got better with every fight. I don't think I ever had as much fun with and other game

Ashley Burch has reached Always a Win territory (yeah I am a huge fan and still find her Hey Ash what cha playing? Funny, but she captures Cassie’s snark and smart ass personality awesome
the fucking speed and sfx of pro play is the best, i love watching any liu kang or kung lao(especially tempest) pro players play
In regards to power levels, I feel like no one talks about how Cage more than likely spent the two years between 9 and X training and getting better at fighting. Raiden might have even had a hand in it too.
I'm not a team vs team kinda player (aside from "Rainbow 6 Siege" or "League of Legends" when I'm in the mood).
I did however play the original Marvel vs Capcom with my brother as a kid. He learned the combos while I just button mashed; surprisingly we were 50/50 on who won.
My favorite moment was when we both used the same Hulk kick attack and earned a "Double K.O.". We couldn't stop laughing.

You should do remnant from the ashes next seeing as the second one is coming out soon and it's honestly my favourite game hard but not impossible to do once you get used to how to play it and get a build that works for you

Hidden win with the Sub-Zero and Scorpion scene: the Lin Kuei are primarily a Chinese clan of ninjas while the Shirai Ryu are primarily Japanese. Sub-Zero went out of his way to learn how to perform a Japanese tea ceremony to try and prove his peaceful intentions to Scorpion
First played it at band camp. My former friend played takeda and spammed the same like 3 combos. I was rooming with him but we didnt always chill so i played it a bit without him and learned a few combos. I proceeded to kick his ass and embarrassed the hell out of him. He was the kinda person to need to put someone down to feel good and he got pissy that he couldnt do that anymore. Love that memory cuz fuck that guy
i think if a qte is gonna be there, it need to be a puzzle ie hitting the correct sequence, or not be a game ending and if u fail it activate a different cutscene while starting u with some disadvantages in gameplay u could of avoided but these should be hard like easter eggs to find and accomplish when replaying the game

14:48 Kotal Kahn is definitely a skilled warrior, but he's also not quite as strong as he lets on. He's very good at fighting, good enough to beat Goro, but he's not quite the same level as Shao Kahn. I mean, Shao Kahn shrugged off a direct attack from the elder gods, only getting beaten because Raiden fought him, which made him weaker.
Dang man, took you long enough to do MK and Injustice, if you are going for Injustice soon.

11:28 gonna be honest, at this moment Sub zero seems like he can easly be a classic disney style villain: sassy, tricky and overall a very intresting character. But im glad he is a good guy, as always.
I do think they missed a trick with the next game, it definitely should have been a role reversal whereby the "good guys" were the primary antagonists, could even end a similar way with Lui Kang ascending in place of dark raiden
So Mortal Kombat 9 and 11 next, and when 1 comes out play it make a video and enjoy, Because YES!

As much as I would enjoy you doing MK 11 next, please consider Injustice 2. Across the board, like John Wick 4, it's 10/10 content. It's one the best DC stories ever written with the Animated Series actors reprising the roles. I don't enjoy fighting games, but I absolutely love the gameplay. And there's no QTEs!

There was a comic book series made for mk x and in it, it’s explained not only that hanzo still has his powers, he can turn back into his scorpion from, which makes him extremely powerful, powerful enough to defeat RAIDEN, I’m not making that up, he actually fought raiden because raiden was under a mind control and scorpion broke him out of it after defeating him
Honestly kung lao's point of view is so much better than liu kang's like it was liu kang's fault he died, he didn't listen to raiden and got himself killed he only defended himself and unintentionally killing him. And then raiden succeeded with his plan so his revenant side must know he made a mistake, but kung lao literally got snapped in the neck from behind for no reason, how did no one see that coming?
