I worked on an oyster farm and wolf spiders had taken over the piles of broken nets. I picked one up with my gloved hand by one leg. It looked at me, considered it's position, and BIT IT'S OWN FUQUEING LEG OFF. It dropped and ran to freedom. That was like 20 years ago, but I'll never forget it.
Wolf spider bites are actually very rare. There's a video where this guy who studies spiders does the cheese test (pestering a spider with a piece of cheese and seeing if it leaves any bite marks in the cheese) on a wolf spider, and it didn't bite despite being harrassed for like ten minutes. It only wanted to run away.
They may be rare, but spiders and insects respond the same way many people respond to falling in water: panicked flailing and grabbing anything in reach. Mantises can be fairly docile, but I once made the mistake of trying to fish one out of a swimming pool with my bare hand. That was painful.
I’d put my hair up in a bun or something, and as long as my clothes are skintight, and I have something blocking them from going on my face, I’m fine, honestly

He said they are like little robots with a mission to kill all the disease carrying flies. So I saw them as friends. I know it’s different in other countries, but all spiders in the UK are harmless. ❤
The spider was scared of you 😂😂😂
You scared him
They are trained to do that in spider special ops school.
Now this, this made me laugh 😂
Wolf spider bites are actually very rare. There's a video where this guy who studies spiders does the cheese test (pestering a spider with a piece of cheese and seeing if it leaves any bite marks in the cheese) on a wolf spider, and it didn't bite despite being harrassed for like ten minutes. It only wanted to run away.
DEATH to all spiders!
@@sava1606 That'll mean a rise in hornets, flies, moths, and mosquitoes
Maybe they just don’t like the smell of cheese
This is life or death, I would bite too in this scenario 😂
They may be rare, but spiders and insects respond the same way many people respond to falling in water: panicked flailing and grabbing anything in reach. Mantises can be fairly docile, but I once made the mistake of trying to fish one out of a swimming pool with my bare hand. That was painful.
Those spiders are actually kinda cute Ngl
I love Spiders! I'll be sad when they bite me but still, they are so majestic.
I’d put my hair up in a bun or something, and as long as my clothes are skintight, and I have something blocking them from going on my face, I’m fine, honestly
But what if they go inside the hair bun 😱

Yeah as long as I'm in a full hazmat suit and I equip myself with a flamethrower then I'm going to be fine
Wolfspiders don't bite unless specially provoked and are actually super chill. Theres tons of videos of people just handling them and on top of that they are almost as smart as jumping spooders :)
People see "spider that runs fast" and lose their minds. It's literally one of the chillest spiders. It doesn't even have a particularly painful bite if you're intentionally trying to get it to.
Will they stay chill if you continue doing your work with them on top of you or do you have to get them off you?
ahahaha, dude they are the single most aggressive spider on earth. ahahaha u might have seen videos with them. but that dont change facts

Exposure therapy is a thing but having hundreds of giant-ass hairy biting spiders scrambling up your body is the exact opposite of exposure therapy. Unless you’re already super chill with spiders that’ll just traumatize you and probably make you way more afraid than you already were.
Hell no
Wolf spiders are actually mostly introverts, if you just let them chill on you, they won’t bite you.

Wolf spiders are super chill. They have no interest in biting you, unless you threaten them. You know, like trying to drown them.
Well said
I had a wolf spider bite me when I was trying to remove a pool raft from the pool. Took a good amount of skin from my hand, it was a big fella too.
I'm pretty sure no one who is harvesting goes out of their way to drown if they crawl on someone they'll just remove them.

Yes!!! I love wolf spiders so much, they are so sweet and really don't want to hurt anyone (other than their food lol) when you think about it, they're in way more danger doing their job than any human working there!
@@souper.scooterdebatable. I grew up around those things. You could literally just be minding your business, not even know they're there, and you move wrong then bam- you've got a painful bite.
In an area where they're more than common, the biting thing gets annoying and you get sick of it pretty fast.
@@remmyfatal Really? I never had that problem! I lived in a workshop in rural Alabama for like 3 months, and it had SO MANY wolf spiders (and scorpions) and I never had a single wolf spider bite me. There's three types of wolf spider as far as I know, maybe the aggression varies between the three?
