Series 4 Episode 1 "The Leap Back". From Wiki "Sam and Al switch roles after a lightning strike. This allows Sam to return home to his wife, but when Al leaps into Captain Tom Jarrett (played by Dean Denton), he is set to be killed by his lover's jealous ex-fiance, Sam must act as his hologram in order to save Al and continue to leap through time."
VanFlower :3 From the Season 2 episode "Jimmy." The character's name is Corey LaMotta. He's the Son of Frank and Connie and the nephew of Jimmy (the man with Down Syndrome whom Sam had Leaped into). I can't watch that episode without crying at the scene where Al tells Sam (or rather, reminds him due to Sam's Swiss-cheesed memory) about his little sister Trudy. That, of course, is because Dean Stockwell's a phenomenal actor who has always drawn upon real-life pain in order to convey the emotion needed for scenes like that one. Anyway, check out that episode and tell me the young actor who played him isn't the spitting image of Dean in one of his early films, particularly "Anchors Aweigh!" ;)
@@Lesley_RedRhody not as cute but yes Cory does look like dean Stockwell at that age .in a video don Belisarius says dean didn't like scenes where he had to cry come to think of it Belisarius knew he is amazing because Al gets emotional about seeing beth and when he's talking about his sis struggling not to cry says how does a 16 yr old girl die from pneumonia ...
I hope Quantum Leap is never remade. One of the main ideas of Quantum Leap is that God is leaping Sam around to put right what once went wrong. If Quantum Leap was made today that idea wouldnt even be mentioned because if a show made today mentioned God athiests would be pissed off.
Well yes and no. There were certain episodes where they flat out said God was leaping him around but they never knew that, it was a theory. The more common phrase used in the show was "God or time or whatever" and in the intro the phrase is "driven by an UNKNOWN force." So God was merely one of the possibilities. The REAL problem with remaking Quantum Leap now is it's earnest, good-natured tone. The world is simply too cynical for a show like this now.

I loved that episode! When Sam starts saying the dirty things are normally said by Al, I laughed so hard I nearly pulled a muscle.
