Sometimes I feel the same way but I know my kids need me thru the holidays...my mom passed on New YEAR'S DAY AND MY DAD PASSED IN FEBRUARY SO ITS HARD ! ALSO I listened to you last week while I was in the hospital after having a stroke, luckily I don't have any weakness with only a little bit of speech problems but I listened to you over and over!!!! They kept my spirits up ,,,,thank you JD
Wow.. so sorry for your lose and health issues. Please know your not alone in your issues. Last year my baby brother passed away on a Friday and my mom the following Sunday. It's a lot. Between the stress before they passed then the stress after it's a rollercoaster ride that brings NO pleasure. Your not alone.. try your best to shed what needs to go..and give yourself time.
Good morning nothing better on Play Someday to have a cup of coffee and listen to JD sharing stories. We always have so much to be thankful for but sometimes we just simply take for granted. I know this Thanksgiving and Christmas is going to be a little hard this year. Dad passed away in March and this will be my first holidays alone. 🙏 sending all my best
Great Story as always ,it just goes to show ! No matter what humans have to face in life’s struggles ! Its always some one that can revive the spirit ,God,family ,friends ,keeps all in perspective ! Great Story Holidays come and go and they are extremely stressful to many ,especially for depressed lonely people ! Reach out to someone that needs you ,we all know who they are .
Many thanks, Sarah and JD, for sharing another heartwarming story. At some point, in our lives, we can all relate to this story. We all need others to lean on ,and Christ Jesus is there to lift us up and carry us through the storms in our lives. I'm so thankful that He is always there waiting. Have a blessed Sunday.
My Mom passed away in November after Thanksgiving and my Dad died the day before. They died ten years apart however the Holiday has never been the same. I had to pray hard to accept what I could not change and make new memories for the next generation. Another great story. Thank you both.
Thank you so much for the story and the lesson. I get grumpy as I age wishing my family were all closer but there seems to be no one that feels the same way. I value family and I am thankful for the ones that are left on this earth. I have gotten grumpy like the old man because life has not turned out the way I'd hoped, but I am so grateful that I know Jesus because he is always the best ever friend in our hard times in life. God bless and keep and thank you JD. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with you and yours.
Thank y'all brother JD......But you see i have no one.....l have out lived everyone in my once large family on both sides.....Wife kids all gone for one reason or another....So i am in my 80's.....l sure do have the Good Lord....GOD BLESS..... Old F-4 Shoe🇺🇸
Tremendous story with powerful lessons...he had so much to be thankful for, but focused on what he'd lost, feeling sorry for himself until he got his wakeup call! Thank you both 🤗❤️
My dad passed away the day after Thanksgiving.ofc, the holiday was never the same. But i do know he wouldn't want us to sit grieving and not give thanks.Good story.Happy Thanksgiving everyone.🙏🏼💯✨️✨️
Feel that pain. I have 2 children. One is single & don’t drive, other is married & does things with his wife’s side of family almost daily, every weekend for sure & sadly every holiday. I had to beg for this Christmas to come see my new home. Holiday’s are just not the same since they grew up & moved out. Christmas was my favorite & now is my saddest. My side of the family don’t do holidays & husband side does one big meal a year. I miss when I was a child when family time was so much fun & looked forward to it. Sad how these days it just isn’t the same for me & I hear so many family’s. Closest just isn’t there anymore.
That really hits home, JD, especially this year. Last spring my best friend was making plans to drive 400 miles round trip to take me to her house for a visit. Then all of a sudden she disappeared on me. Wouldn't answer the phone. Left fb after making one post that she'd learned somebody had told a big lie on her. I knew she was upset but little beyond that. And since I've lost people before after someone jealous of a close friendship tore it asunder, of course that's where my mind went. At first I cried an ocean of tears bc I didn't even know if maybe I'd actually unwittingly hurt her somehow. After several months I started to get mad too. How dare she call me her best friend and then w/o warning drop me like a hot potato? Well, if she ever does try to call again, she's gonna get an earful! etc. I even had the perfect comeback ready just in case. Well, she did call a few days ago and for some weird reason I just melted. Turns out she'd been in the hospital and the family took her phone away. But now she's home again and making that long drive again to take me to her home for Thanksgiving week. She and her husband are even going to board my 2 dogs at a local vet's since they now have one themselves that's jealous of other dogs. It's too hard to stay mad at someone like that. Very seldom do I regret what I've had to say to various people at times, but I'm glad I kept my trap shut for once when my best friend in the whole world finally did call just the other day. I'd be grieving for my own behavior if I'd lashed out to hurt her. Though I did very firmly insist that she needs to warn her family not to 'spare' me in times of trouble. And my heart breaks for all the people on this thread mentioning their departed loved ones. We all go through that sometimes, and Lord knows it's never pretty. A phone call won't fix that kind of loss.
Happy Thanksgiving JD and everyone else! Let's all pray for the good Lird to soften and encourage our hearts before it is too late. God bless you all!! JD this story touched me very deeply. Jesus is closer than we think to each one of us...
Good afternoon! Love your stories. This story is right in time for Thanksgiving! Makes us more Thankful for what we have and for our families and friends.God bless.Happy Thanksgiving y'all! ❤🙏
@theappalachiachannel she loved the Lord and had a scripture based radio show on campus. I know exactly where to find her and that is all that makes this journey bearable without her. God bless you and yours!
What a great story. With everything going on around us, we sometimes need a reminder of what's important. I will take this story with me into the next few weeks. Thanks for providing some balance to our lives .
I often say the good Lord always has our best need at heart . Weather we won't it or not . He has to take us to our lowest to see he is the one answer to every single problem a man could have
