I love the quality of life features on the Leakerkim wheels and I love my ShermanS. But damn, I get excited every time I ride my buddy’s commander pro.
Hi Ronin, I have Commander Pro 50s too. I'd like to add a few of my observations. Waterproofing is bad. Must dissasembly rear lamp and seal it by silicone. Cable passage to the electronics box also. Troley handle does not hold in the folded position. You need to add shims there, then the shaft fits into the slot for locking. Front lamp is realistically usable up to 30 km/h. In rear lamp you could set three modes of blinking, don´t neeed another red lamp. I didn't have a problem when trying the freespin, but out of the box I flash the firmware first. My battery drain is about 1% to 1,5km. Range about 120km is real. Under 10% pwm alarm begin beeping about cca 30km/h. Charger is 5A, charging is quite fast
I have always liked the Commander Pro. Now that it's equipped with 50s batteries & field weakening. It really makes the Commander Pro an all around solid performance wheel. Great video Ronin. Thanks for sharing!
In practice, one should lower berm angle to 15 degrees for this test then return to 55 degrees after. Imagine having to drop the wheel while freespinning! Danger!
This may seem like an odd comment but I recently let the air out of my v11 suspension (because I hate that suspension on v11), and the wheel has been transformed. Lower pedal height resulted in more control, agility, torque (accessible torque for me not actual in theory), and better ride feel. I don't go faster than 30 mph (yet), so it took the v11 from a wheel that I hated to one I enjoy now.
I have a question about the 50s cells. They are obviously perfect for really high performance wheels and sustained high speed but wouldn't they have even more impact on lower voltage wheels? An 84v wheel needs double the amps compared to a 168v wheel like the ET Max. Couldn't that mean that low voltage wheels could reach higher top speed with these cells?
I was watching something else using tire balance beads and it occurred to me that they might be useful in helping push top speeds past some otherwise wobbly points, because at higher speeds the beads put weight in the center of your tire but otherwise are negligible being an ounce or so of mass, maybe 50g at most. It might be enough to go through the harmonic points of oscillation without having to slow down significantly, which is usually what happens even if you don't brake you'll be leaking speed as it's literally being scrubbed off in side to side motion.
Seems there's not much information available on the suspension, so maybe I'd just ask what's your full rider weight in all gear? How do you feel the suspension behaves off road, on the pavement when riding slowly and on the road when riding fast? These are specifically the scenarios for which I feel my EX30 suspension needs readjustment each time I enter into one of them.
If you had to have this CP 50s or lynx which would you pick? They both seem like good choices, if the waterproofing is much worse on CP :/ Also the wider rim. But then on lynx the higher pedal height. It seems CP is better to ride on street and lynx is more versatile also good off road. Oof. Spare parts in the future, would it be worse to get the CP for that reason? Lynx has that soft magnesium shell and screws strip. Gosh negatives to each one
Amazing review! I had no idea about the adjustable hangers. I’d love to know if your wheel has Smart BMS like ewheels says. 9:55 Can not be ignored, I know it’s FW related but that is terrifying and they should fix ASAP!

Hi Ronin. I now have a CP 50S. When setting the Magnetic Field Weakening to 9 in the Begode app, it says “set successful” but it still shows 0. Did this many times, still stayed at 0. Is there another setting I need to change?
this is an amazing wheel but i'm wondering, was that speed run using magnetic weakening? i would love to see you do a video of the cp50s doing speed runs to 75%pwm on 0%, 40%, and 90% field weakening to see the speed increase
Hey Ronin, nice video, I think you should consider start using GPS when measuring speed, new models from begode are overreporting speed more and more for every new model, EX30 overreports around 13%, the ET Max overreports as much as 15% (!), making it difficult and pointless to compare between brands or even models from the same brand, for example the Lynx overreports only around 5%, that is a 10% difference in what the wheel reports compared to GPS. Then everyone is comparing these numbers which aren't even correct to begin with. If GPS speed is used instead we get a fair and accurate comparison between different models and brands and no fantasy numbers.
Thank you, makes sense but there's a catch: im doing this inside a tunnel. Have you watched that gt pro video reporting 100mph gps under a tunnel? Gps won't work...Euc world wouldn't report either tracking under the cutout tunnel.
