Happy tinkering, brother. I’ve gone full on into pedal building lately and can appreciate all that you’re doing there. Lots of fun (and tone, tone, tones). Aloha 🤙
be careful. Also remember that although it is fun to mess with old stuff, you can ruin its resale. I have "bricked" more than a few vintage devices in my days.
Not a lot of people want to dive this deep into the guts of a vintage amp. I'm glad to share 30 plus years of experimenting with this classic. it's funny, I love it even more today than the day I bought it. I just put a 12 position switch with different types of resistors with different values sort of like a studio master vol knob with Carbon, Metal Films, and even a couple radio shack cheapies. They all sound different. Yea! another rabbit hole!
Thanks, I found a guy who played up in Jersey in a few dead bands. He completely changed the game for us. Bass player did good. I bought a cheep bass to make things smother from soundman's view. We are doing a Halloween Party in the fall.
That is my No 2 Now. That guitar is great but new one has GK-2 which just exploded my game. I'm not ready to part with it yet but more guitars are in the plans for the next few years so who knows? Might sell Amp. Tired of hauling it. I use a Real Tube rack pre in my new rig. Video upcoming. Thanks
I take it as a complement that there are only a few replies. Anyone who watched it knows more than almost anybody back in the 90's (except Big Steve). It's not easy to cram 35 years of tinkering down to 25 minutes. This was all done for real with little but my obsessive desire to figure it out. I left out the stories of the blown tubes and cooked speakers. Also got zapped a few times so be careful. Never work on the first floor or barefoot and keep one hand in your pocket just to be sure. Thanks for listening,
