Yah, hunting for its sac webbing is probably one of the most annoying and hardest feats in the game. Annoying as in good and I was bursting with relief when I finally got it after 7 tries.
All the DLC machines from the first one were a nightmare to deal with, especially with how the Scorcher dropped flames everywhere and could launch itself at you in the blink of an eye.

I got past the big guy using the Slayer skill (difficulty: Hard). He suffers a lot from frost and his attacks are quite predictable. Unfortunately when he manages to hit he does a lot of damage and can even kill with one hit. Strangely enough, it's also easy to hit, dodging very little. I advise you to use the slide to avoid his shots because in addition to avoiding them, it allows you to shoot while continuing to hit the beast. Next to this funny guy is another area of Rogartiglio (the name of this machine in my language), to be avoided like the plague because the cub is a level 60 Alpha, practically a monster. Ops, i forget : well done! You did a nice hunt and this video is really fun to see.
Fire claw? Ah yes, the pyro metal monstrosity capable of beating up Thunderjaw himself and HZD's Bringer of Death in a 1 on 1 fight, if you don't believe me, look on RUclips and you will see, there is a RUclipsr who has done these fights of machines, I wonder if the Fire Claw is also capable of defeating the powerful "Slaughterspine" from HFW?
I've discovered them but I'm only on level 34 and still haven't finished the story yet, my hands are gonna sweat like crazy when I face one. Using ice is always a good way to deal extra damage tho
Just for the record, I farm Apex Fireclaws for their hearts, not their web sacs!! In almost EVERY SINGLE FIGHT I've had with one, the Blaze Sac is almost NEVER intact once the fight ends!!!
To avoid destroying the Web sacs only target the 6 canisters on its back, it has four on the lower back and 2 on its nape under some armor, the two Web sacs on the shoulders have a chance to cause a chain reaction to destroy the main Web sac on its belly. So no explosive ammo, Be careful out there fellow hunter.
Pro tip for farming it: turn on story mode If you're like me and give up after dying 5 times trying to get web sac, try turning on story mode and attack the canisters and/or eyes
@@epRivera I'm already on Easy mode, I don't want to take to Story unless it's in the arena! I at least have some pride! I farm web sacs from the regular ones since they're easier to deal with and I can properly snipe them to death!

The fireclaw site near thornmarsh, he appeared with his back facing u at first, instantly freeze him, and use blotblaster sustain burst or high tear dmg hunter bow (death seeker), and aim for his four power cell and it would make a quick work without damaging sac webbing, if it didn't die, then make sure to use more freeze and normal arrows at his muscle
@@WizzyTheDizzy Got way easier once I got a bow with Strikethrough Arrows! With those I can target one power cell at a certain angle and hit all four of them! Just letting you know, I'm only talking about the standard ones, the Apexes I go in "guns" blazing!
Question: How did I survive this Apex Fireclaw?! Answer: Difficulty: Normal. It's in the title of the video. I started on Hard, not very hard, thinking there was a New Game + & it'd give me a good excuse to play thru the game a second time. As difficult as Hard can be (still only died a handful of times, rly), starting a brand new game on Very Hard might be a bit too "difficult" to remain as fun as Hard was. I mean, just _jacking up_ the enemy HP & defense makes certain fights simply take too long, esp for the meager rewards. Going after the fireclaw's four sparker weak points on its ass is a real good tactic, esp if you have a electric bow (hard to come by, I got mine from the side quest Need to Know, link below) & can trigger a chain explosion or w/e they call it... Also, I never explode its chest, cuz you can't get its sac webbing, but its shoulders are fair game. I like your Forbidden West content, I've learned a few things from your vids. Thanks. Watching this with the original Fireclaw theme playing on a different tab right now, for those extra badass points.

You ca dodge roll right past them when they do the close range swipe. Just roll forward and the coils at the rear are exposed.

But at least you killed this one by shooting him in the butt.
I ended up hitting it to death because I was underlevel and out of amo. But damn did I have enough healing.

Visit merchants and do side quests. The merchant near The Base sells a few legendaries, I recommend buying his Icestorm Boltblaster. It's great.
