People, for fine-pitch SMD chips, flux all pads and use one blob of solder to tin them. Then use desolder wick to clean up pads. Hold IC in place with kapton tape until you tack two diagonal legs. Heat all other legs, one at a time, to solder them down. If you do get a solder bridge, carefully remove it with wick. Don't be afraid to flood pads with flux. You can always clean it off later. These DIY kits were made to help learn soldering skills. Before you know it, you'll be a master in a very short time.
