In response to he didn’t think the pictures existed, this was before the internet REALLY exploded where companies to take advantage of the internet. If he hadn’t seen the photos online probably just assumed the only people who knew about or had those pictures were him, his friends, and couple of people who didn’t know what they had. Or he may have just forgotten about taking the pictures because it was part of the routine at that point.
I've always wondered with people like Billy Mitchell with how easy it is to sue people for nothing, what's stopping hundreds/potentially thousands of people of suing him for "emotional distress" or something for all the drama he has caused online? Even if all the suits got thrown out, bare minimum, wouldn't it take up so much of his time that it could bully him into backing off from this behavior?

Here whoever filed the lawsuit pays for the taxes that come from the process and in the end the losing party reimburses the winning part the costs the winning party incurred during the lawsuit. If the US system worked like that, people like Mitchell would be completely bankrupt.

Im not sure what part of the law youre confused about but no thats not how it works in either America or in Australia (where this lawsuit is taking place). You might be thinking about the merits of a case which could get some lawsuits thrown out but not in this case. The situation a lawsuit typically gets thrown out is when they file for the wrong type of lawsuit (a lot of youtube drama revolves around defamation that is misfiled as copyright claims). But this is correctly filed as a defamation case which means they need to go in front of a judge to determine if defamation actually occured. But also, your comment is really gross and uninformed. The only thing to stop this Karl can do after Billy started the lawsuit is settle it out of court or to fight it in court. Deleting the video doesnt just make the case go away. If Billy was willing to settle the case at just deleting the video then that would be their agreement but given what he did to Apollo Legend who settled and deleted the video but still had to pay Billy thousands as part of that settlement. It was Billy's choice to cheat and then sue people that call him out on his cheating. If Karl makes money from it then good; maybe it'll stop Billy from sueing people in the future for just making videos about facts everyone knows are true but are embarrassing for him.

Yes after he put out a video a while back thanking coffeezilla and saying he would never sue him. Logan got butt hurt becuase coffee had made a video after basically saying "logan still hasnt made right the crypto holders of the zoo token" or something along those lines. Basically doesnt like to be still called a scammer when he did a half assed job trying to fix the problem. Different situation but same kinda mentality and retaliatory behavior.

At the end of the day, Karl put himself in this situation. He could have deleted the video and after he gets the court fees back, he is going to make 500k from this. Not including the money from the attention on RUclips
I thought if there are no grounds, it gets thrown out before trial? Also, once they’re proven to be frivolous from Billy’s claims to sue him, wouldn’t he then be responsible for Karl’s court fees? Or maybe he has to sue for that afterwards, but if it’s fraudulent, I assume there is some penalty?
if that was the case then the regular show lawsuit shouldve been thrown out IMMEDIATELY the show never mentioned his name or branding, everything was clearly satirical never stating it as a fact just a joke also dont you think if every case got thrown out before trial "because it had no grounds" the defendant would always lose to the claimant?

Im not sure what part of the law youre confused about but no thats not how it works in either America or in Australia (where this lawsuit is taking place).
You might be thinking about the merits of a case which could get some lawsuits thrown out but not in this case. The situation a lawsuit typically gets thrown out is when they file for the wrong type of lawsuit (a lot of youtube drama revolves around defamation that is misfiled as copyright claims). But this is correctly filed as a defamation case which means they need to go in front of a judge to determine if defamation actually occured.
But also, your comment is really gross and uninformed. The only thing to stop this Karl can do after Billy started the lawsuit is settle it out of court or to fight it in court. Deleting the video doesnt just make the case go away. If Billy was willing to settle the case at just deleting the video then that would be their agreement but given what he did to Apollo Legend who settled and deleted the video but still had to pay Billy thousands as part of that settlement. It was Billy's choice to cheat and then sue people that call him out on his cheating. If Karl makes money from it then good; maybe it'll stop Billy from sueing people in the future for just making videos about facts everyone knows are true but are embarrassing for him.
