really helpful talk. i have been studying international development and agree that the receivers of aid need to be at the center of what developers are doing. development will be much better once it is made less hegemonic

    Orphan Welfare Association (OWFA)
Introduction: The auspicious date of established Non-Governmental /Non-profitable organization is “Orphan Welfare Association” (OWFA) is January 01, 1995, at Hussein market, Ledu Mullah Rd, Tongi, Gazipur-1712, and Bangladesh. It is a Government charity registered organization. Government registration No: Ga-0418, dated, 14/08/2000 from the Ministry of Social Welfare, another registration is ongoing process(after achieving the commitment letter of receiving foreign donation issues) from the NGO affairs Bureau, Office of the Honorary Prime Minister, Govt. of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is one of the natural calamities/disaster areas and most thickly populated Country in the World. Many of families income generating person dies in natural calamities, road accident and diseases. As a result created thousands of orphans, disable children and widowed women become handicapped and poor to poorer due to death of active income generating Guardian of these families as earlier. At the Globalization era these under privileged people is facing immense pressure due to arrange proper step. Like other society the youth orphan come across a separate despair and disappointment. That is to say a youth of a family inspire of suffering unemployment problem his parents talking pains at least manage two pieces of meals a day and providing shelter, give solace to get rid of disappear and anxiety. In turn an orphan children/youth being sustained a mental set back through uncertain and unknown life darkness. While the system runs in mess and the Govt. purpose is disturb and there by proves futile. In absence of long term basis Constructive plans for the community. On the other hand the Govt. of Bangladesh has no any prorate to arrange matrimonial alliance for female orphans because of no found bridegroom without dowry. In consequence those helpless girls become over further upon their guardian’s govt. also have no fund to chalk out any program for them. It is point out that the dowry system of our society in our country is very cruel and inhumanity. As a result these orphan girls render adverse reflections to country's ever increasing unemployment problems. Like other girls in the society the guardians of those orphans’ girls can't meet the demands of the bridegrooms and arrange for their marriage. In fact this is not only a social problem rather a cause of any a problems which pose to be a course for the nation as a whole. To get rid of these problems, there is no facilities non-govt. organization Orphan, disabled and widowed women would be beneficial by taking serve truly. As if Bangladesh Govt. is doing for the development of orphans through the Social Welfare department but it is not time necessity system and though it is very little compared to requirement.
    VISSION
Provide free service among the under privileged community. Bring more awareness and conscious of the people about the Globalization era. To provide less fortunate people's living standard. To create job opportunity to get rid of course of poverty by the global Training transforms into income generating community to the disadvantage orphans youth, girls, and women, more over disable children at the local and remote area. And recognize all over the donor.
    MISSION
    1. To introduce and familiar with the Global world to arrange various time necessity program.
    2. To help the orphan, women, and poor children to get Govt. facilities.
    3. Organize and arrange to be well skilled manpower for job experience to face employment challenges.
    4. To build up mental capacity to secure in competitive job market by the time necessity Training for the vibrant communities.
    5. Collaborate and co-operate with the Bangladesh Government, foreign Govt. and non-govt. organization home and abroad.
    6. To arrange and take proper initiative to export in the foreign country of our skilled, semi-skilled man power by the Govt. of Bangladesh co-operation.
    7. To be taken initiative with the Govt. of Bangladesh to circulate and encourage for foreign investment. Environment of Bangladesh is enchanted and investment is more secured than any other country in the world. At the Globalization era Bangladesh needs targeted programs to develop Bangladesh's potential in the IT/ITES industry along with focus to build the necessary e-Government foundations. Cause of this initiative will meaningful leverage ICT for development will the country to tap into the tremendous potential of the global IT and ITES industry for economic and social development. In this vital reason employment opportunity will be create to globally recognize with IT and gain who are unemployed youth orphan and disable. On the other hand govt. will be afforded to earn a great deal of revenue. At first we needed own IT (computer) lab. And English language course centre at free of cost also we have no infrastructure (Building construction). Therefore, Govt. of Bangladesh and donor agencies are requested to unlock their assistance for us will able to perform vital role play home and abroad. Along with every rich person home and abroad are requested to expand their aid for our auspicious focal points. Among the unemployed young orphans and girls who have achieved general education, majority of them have no technical/vocational training or knowledge having a good job. They are very much weak in English and IT Knowledge which are vital at present home and abroad to have a standard job. This lack education or job experience deprives them from the present competitive job market and facing challenging to engage in job.
Coping up the national demand Orphan Welfare Association (OWFA) arrange time necessity project and take time befitting initiative with the Govt. of Bangladesh. For achieving the goal need endeavor for the donor support. At last Word is ʺWe live in a world where talent is evenly distributed, but opportunity is not. ʺ
At a Glance Orphan Welfare Association (OWFA)
    1. Executive Member: 09 (Nine).
    2. Infrastructure (Building Construction): Orphan Welfare Association has no owner any infrastructure. We were start of our activities in a small room by rent. In limited scale we can claim success, even though we had critical limitations to run these basic programs smoothly as earlier to earn to teach student in our coaching centre. Now we are in handicapped not to get any Grant, Donations, Partnership, and Sponsorship offer. We had as below mentioned program as earlier in 1995.
    3. Activities:
    (1) Free Child Education in very small scale. We provide them one time meal to be inspired in Education. We found excellence result in present of students (Distress Children) in the class room. (2) Garments Training: Who are 18 years old provide them garments training to collaborate with the private training centre. In this arrangement widowed women is very intent to provide in this training but we are not able to continue this program. 3. Computer Training: Among the SSC pass students we provide computer training to provide in job. This program was fruitfully spread over the distress young boys & girls in 1995 in our working area and it was marvelous project. Not to support from any donor agencies compelled to stop from the beginning.
    4. Research & Evolution: In the Globalization era Govt. Orphanages has no any resource or system to provide modern technological Education among the orphan girls & boys. In the job market this young generation are very negligible than the others. In the Govt. and other Non-Govt. orphanages in Bangladesh this distress children are grown up by physically to provide in food & clothes and a few nominal Education. That education is no demand in the present job market. Employment crisis among the young generation in Bangladesh is unexpected. Who are orphan young generation it can't be think their extreme adversity of life. At the time befitting Globalization era to reduce unemployment curse among the orphan without Technical Education/Vocational Training no other way to lead their life sustainable.
To create job opportunities for the above distress children/young, from the beginning they needed to provide Technical Education/Vocational Training. But Govt. institution number is very few demand of students and very competitive to admit. This is why “Orphan Welfare Association” is going endeavor to convey to the respective International Donor agencies who work for humanitarian. We waving for the view of magnificent program above mentioned distress generation need to provide for self or group thus way: Training + Production + Marketing to abroad= to remove curse of unemployment crisis and poverty. Only microcredit program will not vital role play to reduce poverty. Moreover microcredit program is very risk to return loan installment without earning scope is not to create for these distress people due to our fostering entrepreneurship. So our recommendation to our respective International Donor agencies, Aid is essential but need to identify how to reduce actual poverty. At the same time, our respective International Donor countries factory owner's is needed to their trained up human resource/manpower in their manufacturing company if they would come to invest in Bangladesh, would be profitable any other country's manpower in the world to provide job in their factory. Moreover if they would come to invest in food process, tale communication, electric and electronic item manufacturing, mobile set manufacturing, electrification, IT sector any other productivity. Notice that as the cheap cost of labor wages manpower manages is very difficult to production factory from other country. Bangladeshi laborer are vey industrious any other country but they have no scope to work place. They work with res

Many interesting points, but I was shocked by the speaker's blind spots.
First, she was surprised that women displaced by the tsunami in Acheh, Indonesia, would need undergarments. Frankly, I thought she might talk about menstrual hygiene needs. And this was after ten years of experience. Insight: ask the refugees. Eeer...yes please.
Second, she concludes with one Big Idea - that of a Peace Bath instead of Peace Talks invariably held in hotel conference rooms. How is that gender-sensitive? Or do we want to institutionalise that Peace is brokered by the men while women prepare their meals?
A real shame, as Ms Masako Yonekawa comes across as a genuine, committed and compassionate person.
