I liked this video because it highlighted some type interactions in the wild really clearly, and there's the focus on growth coming from the person deciding for themselves too. really cool
This was a great video Dave. I can totally see how being a different type can cause someone to be insensitive to the struggles the other person goes through. The code helps a little bit with that I also like that emotional calmness and zen-like attitude mike Tyson has. You can feel that sense that he’s on the “other side” of a lot of stuff. Not being consumed by his past, but living more in the present and future with open arms (no ones perfect of course though). Good stuff 👍
The hard part is when you identify with that “fake” self sabotaging character. Where you believe you have to be in alignment with that to be congruent with your past, versus being in alignment with yourself. There should be a decent degree of settledness and calmness in someone who’s in alignment. It’s like an overall attitude. You can sense that in Mike, which is great to see
This is the best video you’ve ever put out. Im not sure if somebody necessarily has to hit rock bottom to decide they dont want to be that person anymore, but they do have to go through an intense trial i guess to realize that its them thats the problem. To switch from “everybody is the problem except for me” to “i am the solution”.
I imagine Shannon is just focusing on other areas. Plus their son is older now, things are bound to change. She still participates in the Class videos.
Nicely explained. But you can explain it all you want - but people won't understand until they've gone through it. And for many people, they'll never accept that they were the problem in their story. They were the antagonist...
This quote from Infinite Jest has really helped my sleep last, non letting go a$$, “If, by the virtue of charity or the circumstance of desperation, you ever chance to spend a little time around a Substance-recovery halfway facility... you will acquire many exotic new facts… That you do not have to like a person in order to learn from him/her/it. That loneliness is not a function of solitude. That logical validity is not a guarantee of truth. That it takes effort to pay attention to any one stimulus for more than a few seconds. That boring activities become, perversely, much less boring if you concentrate intently on them. That if enough people in a silent room are drinking coffee it is possible to make out the sound of steam coming off the coffee. That sometimes human beings have to just sit in one place and, like, hurt. That you will become way less concerned with what other people think of you when you realize how seldom they do. That there is such a thing as raw, unalloyed, agendaless kindness. That it is possible to fall asleep during an anxiety attack. That concentrating intently on anything is very hard work."
Quotes the Bible... five seconds later: "He's fuckin smacked someone in the airport the other day the kid fucking deserved it" also I feel like Corey Taylor (slipknot frontman) might be an ENFP type based off the intro description
Copied and pasted this from a doc which is why it's so long.🙂 The way to help others become mature (and free them from the "prison" of their mind) seems to be a mix of psychological knowledge and skills, wisdom, and tactical empathy. People can't effectively emotionally regulate, recognize, process, or unproblematically cope with anger/fear-inducing stimuli or anger and fear themselves, can't reality test, and can't consciously access their demons unless they're given those skills. Defense mechanisms, cognitive distortions, and problematic coping mechanisms like denial and blame are instinctive and default. The psychological skills are not and don't "intuitively" come to mind just like "thinking" in certain ways. Putting pressure on themselves is not enough by itself to get them out of this, and they don't or can't simply choose to become mature without the necessary stimuli. Repeatedly applying positive punishment to a person after they inappropriately use or overuse their saviors does not teach these unintuitive, non-instinctive, non-default skills, and neither does teasing, taunting, mocking, ridiculing, or insulting (even when done in a double decider way). Simply informing them or explaining the skills to them is also usually not enough. Research the ethics of operant conditioning and the inhumane, outdated, unempathetic, and unethical ways it has been used in the past, the effects of the way it has been used, what B. F. Skinner was wrong about, and the results of Scared Straight programs. If there’s concern about this being “authoritarian”, everyone, consciously aware of it or not, desires fulfillment, meaning, freedom from their vicious cycle and suffering, good health, success in life, prosperity, and homeostasis. Some people might need to make massive changes in life, though and might be confronted with a ton of massive harsh truths, sometimes due to a ton of bad karma they've created.
Mike "sold", "Fe blasted", whatever Bill in that moment. He became interested. Mike lost him in the second half, though, because he didn't use the right techniques and knowledge.
So it sounds like bills Ne hero and low Si are partly why his type is likely to continue to add more problems and blame it on things? If so, would that be common for ENTP as well?
I think all EPs are prone to this. I've thought Burr was ESTP, all that observing and then ripping saying going after the stupid and illogical. Maybe 'cause that's what I do. lol
Fe Inferior is incredibly sensitive. Maybe work on developing it. It’s okay to be emotionally sensitive, it’s actually a beautiful thing. Welcome your emotions, sit with them, make friends with them, let yourself cry to release it, exercise to get the emotions moving through your body, spend lots of time in nature away from others, it’s healing. Accept yourself as you are. Use kind words to yourself.
Agreed. He plays drums and flies a helicopter. And bakes. And is a lone wolf. Definitely ISTJ or at least ISFJ. He’s a softie on the inside. Huge Bill Burr fan too. Dave’s typing of Bill is short sighted.
@@fluffyclouds555 Drums, baking, lone wolf etc. does not make a ISTJ in Dave’s system. Any type could do those things. Lone wolf might indicate introversion, but that’s accounted for more through the animals in the OP system. So Bill being Blast last would make him an introvert, not the E of ENFP.

@P O W E R - R E D - B U L L The last two they mentioned like Steve Irwin and Mike Tyson I agree with their OPS types! When I was a member of the OPS website, there were questionable types they mentioned due to the balancing of the jumper types and animal typing. So I disagreed that Serena Williams was an ESTP, but an ESTJ. I disagreed that Rana Kaliouby is an ESFP, but an ENTP. I disagreed that Pharrel Williams is an ESTP, but an ENFJ and many, many more! I guess I just don't understand their "NT" terms and language as an "SF" person. So I left the OPS community because I was starting to second guess my own type and even my knowledge. But these are only my opinions from MBTI knowledge. Hope that makes sense!
