Homemade brake line tube straightener

- I need to run all new brake lines on a 65 Mustang. That means buying brake line that is coiled up. It's nigh impossible to straighten this stuff by hand and I didn't want to pay the money that companies are charging online for a tool so I decided to make one.
At least it's a hand motion that most guys should be familiar with...
LMFAO
Thanks for the great idea. I was going to use skateboard wheels but I would have to machine a groove in them. Patio door wheels, great idea!
I'm glad you found it helpful. I hope yours works as well as mine, I'm kind of amazed each time I use it ;-)
That's cool. Good thinking!
Thanks!
Legend idea. Thanks mate
Thank you 😄
Awesome idea
Thanks. It's served me well multiple times
Neat 😀
Thanks! 😁
Hi. I found them already. Can u please send me the radio size. How deep must be. Thanks advance.
+BestBuildPC Power of imagination I will be happy to take the measurements off of the one that I have and get them to you. Email me swdweeb@gmail.com and I will send you what I can.
2.5 gi wear streight kar na hai .ye machine chaiye
All you have to do is build one 😄
do you have a list of materials on how you made this. i could really use this
Not really, they were just patio door rollers I bought from the hardware store like these www.homedepot.com/p/Prime-Line-1-1-4-in-Patio-Roller-Kit-2-pack-D-1796/100574233 a couple of bolts to hold the two halves together and screws to mount the wheels to the aluminum blocks. You could us just about anything for the blocks. I had the aluminum so that's what I used. Did you see in the description there is a measured drawing?
@@swdweeb wheres the measured drawing
@@swdweeb will these rollers work for 1/4 inch brake line also
@@christopherholtjr4892 Sorry, I thought it was linked. drive.google.com/file/d/14g_YKV-bY-ZlLukgSOCFj-pKLua74hsy/view?usp=sharing
@@christopherholtjr4892 I've used it on 1/4 copper water line never on 1/4 steel brake line. I assume it fit
Are there rollers small enough to make a straightener for wires (e.g., 9 gauge galvanized steel)?
Ner Bland Good question, I don't actually know. The wheels on this get pretty close together and might be able to do it. You might have to use something like it but would likely have to change the angle during the process to get it straight in all orientations.
Ner Bland - For thin wire you can make one in a few minutes.
Set some nails in a board, 2x4 scrap is ideal. Pull the wire to straighten trough the nails. Voilá. ;-)
Edit: Just noticed you mention galvanized wire. So I guess you don't want to scrape the surface... put some pieces of tube on the nails. (ex. brake pipe, plastic tubing from an old ball point pen, etc.)
@@swdweeb A neat tool, to be sure, but not necessary. Auto parts stores have racks of these tubes already straightened.
i need this send me
where can I buy those door wheels? What is the size of the wheel in order to straighten brake lines 3/16? Thans in advance.
+BestBuildPC Power of imagination I bought them at Ace hardware. I couldn't find them at Lowes or Home Depot. I'm pretty sure this is them www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1296878
can u make one for me. Let me know how much.
+swdweeb I sent u an email.
