I always wanted a 1922 Les Paul. He was only 7 years old, same year he was sent to summer school...on MARS. He learned a lot there and shared it with us mortals. Great find. 1922 Ls Paul's are hard to find these days.
Doc I think of you every time I turn on my Remedy, thanks so much for years of enjoyment on stage and off, thanks for making all these videos! Much love from Puerto Rico.
I love this channel. The Doc's voice is just so soothing and tells a story regardless to the topic. So glad I went back to a Maz. Starting to consider a higher wattage option as well for a little more headroom. The new Z28 is looking pretty enticing, but considering something also with an FX loop! Will follow up for the direction I go! Everytime I go watch my old pickup videos, the Z always gets the most comments and likes. People think its the PAF brand, but its the amp!
I admire your restraint in owning the smaller quality versus the larger quantity. It really does get down to how much time and room do you really have to store, use and maintain a lot of gear, versus actually getting out to gig and use it, record, practice and learn more styles, etc.
I also love the Eminence Red Fang alnico speaker. I have 2 in one of my 2x12 cabinets. The Celestion Alnico Gold is the next closest thing. You have made great choices all around!
I believe Zelinsky has a shop in Chicago were you can try out his guitars before buying. i have played two of his guitars with the Z-glide neck. it's not a game changer but it has a nice feel. the guitars seem to be well built and come set up well. keep on rockin, doc!
The Dean Zelinsky guitars do look really nice and you have a lot of choices in ordering them too. I may buy one eventually, but probably got enough already.
If I were to make a recommendation, try a PRS. I gave them a wide birth for a couple decades because I'm mostly a single coil guy. But I tried one if my buddy's PRS semi-hollow body guitars recently and WOW. What an awesome axe. Plays similar to a Tele. I get a bright humbucker tone and a really good single coil tone when the pups are coil tapped. Amazing guitar.
Awesome Doc! For years I was looking for this classic rock sound In my head, many cheap amps and pedals later, turns out the vast majority of that sound has been found in your amps (EMS & Nova)!!! Is a P90 guitar on the radar? Thanks for sharing such a sweet collection!
When I practice, it is usually just one guitar. Later in the day, I may play another. My number #1 is a Suhr SSS, #2 is the Greco EG700 with stainless and dry pickups... and soon to be a 91 Charvel SSH reliced. The G&L I have will not stay in tune with the 2 point fulcrum. Never played a Dr. Z... heard good things.
Regarding the Gibson Murphy Lab '59 LP Standard Reissue, the following was taken from Sweetwater's description "...the 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue sports a pair of unpotted Gibson CustomBucker Alnico III humbuckers. The CustomBucker is the most historically accurate PAF copy ever."
Hi Dr. Z! I recently obtained a Carmen Ghia 112 beige and it’s so amazing. It’s an older model, no send/return or master. Has a G12H. Wondering what dirt pedal you recommend that pairs well with the amp? At band practice i cannot turn it past 9 or else i get the stink eye from my mates lol. Thank you for any advice.
"You guys might not realize it, but these guitar players... they just buy gear like crazy..." Trust us Doc, we know! EVERY guitar player buys gear like crazy!
DR Z AMPLIFICATION, need to make a theory lesson about power tubes transconducance and how its related to the gain of the stage circuit because most techs think the gain of the stage is the same thing as the power tubes transconducance
Hey Mike, big fan of your company and what you do! Would you consider buying a Martin when you're ready for an acoustic? They're not too far...and I might be looking to get one also.
@DrZAmplification Ah, that's good, I'm not losing my mind seeing things then?!. I thought for a sec there was an old ghost floating about, haha. Great to see the good Dr so enamoured with his new guitars. A Carmen Ghia is on my radar, I need one!. Peace.
I spoke to Dr Z on the phone. ( I was a telemarketer at the time ) I was familar with Z ampification since I played guitar. He was rude af. I will never buy shit from z amplification.

he was waaayyy ahead of his time
Z in here with the 1922 LP😂
it’s in amazing shape too
It’s a beaut and no mistake!
God bless you and give you great peace and health for many years to come Dr. Z.

keeping things small and close knit, better quality control, it's a good philosophy
Mike, so cool you’re moving forward with the greatest instrument on earth! You’ve certainly have the amplification of the guitar nailed! Cheers!
Such a sweet simple man......🎉❤😊
Lol I love that the hand motions and manner of speaking dont change even in a low-key video like this. What a real one Mike is
Thanks, I love your passion and enthusiasm!
love hearing you so excited about your gear Doc! Todd & Josh from PCNS
I kind of can't get over how nice it was of Steve Miller and Joe Walsh to give you custom guitars. Says a lot.
they are legends and great human beings as well
Let's not forget Brad Paisley !
@@mikezaite1335 I realized I did that when I wrote the comment.
Awesome video and awesome collection, Z! Hope all is well. Would love to swing by the shop again sometime.
12:36 “Ya get what cha pay for guys “ , it took me many years to realize the truth in that statement.
The coolest amp builder out there imo 😊
Very nice collection!
Rock on Doc!
As a Cleveland area resident, I had NO idea you operated out of Cleveland until the book on the back shelf dropped the hint!

excellent suggestion

they do make a special guitar, that's for sure
Love that Laugh!!
I really enjoyed your video Doctor Keep it up you're a good guy

nice!
Those are great pickups, but isn't every new reissue "the most historically accurate PAF" until the new one lol
@@CharlesWillisBonsai I guess it would depend on the year, month, even day it was made!

According to the date near the extra fuses, it’s fromm 2004. Are they the same weight as the more recent models 40lbs?

that's definitely one to consider!
@@DrZAmplification would be fun to take the factory tour also!
Joe Walsh is the coolest. His name in Morse code? So cool.
Seymour Duncan Brad Paisley's La Brea T-style Single Coil 2-piece Pickup Set - Chrome $198 or $99 each at Sweetwater. (Is this the set in the Tele?)
not sure, the original in the guitar was a "twisted tele" neck that failed and Brad's tech sent us a new one that is from his custom set
Is it me or does this guy sound alot like Danny Devito?
Awesome guitars
Is there a fan in the room,
what's moving the cover of the magazine "Cleveland" on the shelf?.
there's an overhead fan, it was a hot day in Cleveland that day

Peace.
I want to see his electronics reference book collection.
most of that stuff is back at the shop!
I’ll guarantee if you buy a Yamaha RevStar online from Sweetwater, you will not be disappointed.
Great video, but I have to ask; why does nobody want to pronounce the "A" in D'Addario? Everybody says "D'Darrio". It's spelled "Dee Uh Darrio".
that's how they pronounce it!
Get a Yamaha acoustic! You won't be disappointed
I wish I had the money I have now when I was 20. Back then I never bought a new instrument. Strictly pawnshop, layaways,
Plus, there is so much great gear these days to choose from, that just wasn't available back in the day.
6:54 those are the easiest jazz chords
