I think there's no plot armor in here, I mean everyone have their role Riko for her Intelligence, Reg for his power, and Nanachi for the experience. If you really watch from S1 you must know there's no plot armor ar this show because Riko almost died from the curse, and Reg that almost died at the movie because he was using as experiment by Mordawd (I'm forget his name) and losing his right hand.

Reg is also saved by nanachi from bondrewd not riko and nanachi is too intelligent when compared with riko you can see her planning skills on the movie. Don't get angry i didn't mean I hate her why I compare with Sakura . Sakura is intelligent, ambitious but always sticks to her ideas even if it puts the entire team at risk, rely heavily on her teammates to achieve what she wants. realise mistakes only after the actions are done and doesn't follow teammates advise if it's against her goal and end up getting saved by them. These triats fit riko that's all.
