This was THE epic s--t back then. My fav theme of the whole game. I would just stop at the end of the mission at the top of the waterfall and listen to it loop with the sunset in the background... Simple, yet so satisfying.
I downloaded the DirectX SDK so I could piece together the song into a single cohesive thing because it was so good. It's too bad it wasn't a single MP3 or something due to its staged organization.
2:00 - The hero deploys, making a grand entrance into the conflict... 2:42 - He begins to totally rule the battlefield with badass gunplay, undisputed epicness... 3:44 - He stands victoriously, gazing upon the enemy casualties across the horizon, in the setting sun...
I remember only being able to play this at my sisters now ex husbands place and it was the best shooting game I experienced until Halo or COD. Way to much fun. Graphics were pretty good too. Played Unreal 3 after. Lost to history.
Unreal 2 felt like Halo, and I dare to say it's just as under-decorated. That was another age though, different tech and different meta. Now that people has so much experience with level designs, I'd like to see the first Unreal being re-created with the same engine, AND Unreal 2 but this time both made with the current engine. I wouldn't believe how beautiful would it be, needs to be as colorful as the first Unreal, full of life.
if they remake unreal or unreal 2 in that case of unreal 2 aida would be redone to actual standards....reducting her sizes to avoid snowflakes getting angry
Alexander Brandon Are all my childhood heroes on RUclips nowadays? First I find Tim Haywood, composer of the soundtrack for Shadow Man, and now you. :)
+JerryBear712 i think every track of unreal 2 is awesome in their own way.Hard to beat Unreal Franchise's soundtrack quality, it';s one of the few soundtracks that do half the trick during gameplay along with gameplay mechanics Making you fell badass and in awe at the same time while wielding a rocket launcher blowing the adversaries to gibs. +Alexander Brandon : I LOVE your music pieces for Unreal, expecially Go Down and Organic tracks, they sound Amazing! :D
In Unreal 2 was two tracks which reminds old good Unreal: Sulferon (Severnaya and Sulferon missions) and Drakk Boss Theme, both composed by Alexander Brandon. Also in U2 music dir I found Alex's two cut tracks: Skaarj and Tension2.
Badass to the state of Badassness ! I remember i was so pumped up whenever 2:42 would kick in. Unbelievable experience...yet only a game and a piece of music !
sorry .. but I do not speak English .. I speak Spanish. I've written on youtube is translated ... and I see that there is good I love this song..!!!! and the game
yea really good soundtrack!! that's what i loved about this game btw I beat it using a intel built in GPU and the hole game ran like crap but it was worth it!!
The golden era of Unreal games. I never get tired of this track, despite the years.
I was hoping Epic Games would make Unreal 3 but nope :(

I'd love a remake of the unreal series...
Absolutely! Perhaps a better ending to Unreal 2, and with modern graphics, this game would be phenomenonal! I really loved this game a lot.

Its heartbreaking to see this comment have only 26 likes even after 7 years.
Sadly, its probably the only track of the whole OST that feels genuinely Unreal (read: Alexander Brandon-ish)
Animus Silica Not really. I mean, it's good and on par with Alex. But no way near his excellence
+Dr Ivo Robotnik Kind of funny... because I think I did write this :) guess I got sloppy! I actually like the later chord progressions...

Simply amazing piece of music, one of the best game tracks of all time
10 years later, I still fully agree.
This track is made for HEROS!!!
The composer is Alexander Brandon, Texas.
Love this soundtrack, it's absolutely a truly amazing game with a powerfully deep story. :)
Jesus John, were we ever that green?
This one hits so close to Unreal 1 OST vibes

i really like this one cuz it sound more like the music from the first game, which ruled...it makes you wonder if there ever gonna make a 3rd one.

When I listen to this music now i feel like a goddam vet! brilliant game for it's time
My favourite track from the game :)
🥰It's the only song in this game, that have strong Unreal 1 vibe.
Amazing Soundtrack. I think about trying to sample it into a melodic Tech House Track...
Frickin' deja-vu when i first got to hear this song. Thanks for uploading.
Unreal 2 is so short:/ It's sad, soundtracks like this, deserve longer game.
One of the only tracks in U2 to really capture Unreal's magic.
Unreal 2 The Awakening SE, has one of the best tracks - it's a little bit old but still beats and it will
Agreed. But the game itself... why it is not dynamic as the original one? :( I miss fighting Skaarj with a Flak Cannon and doing some dodging.
This track is ADDICTIVE.
Great. It sounds like Orbital.
I really liked this game.
The trailer video of Oppenheimer (Nolan) soundtrack sounds very similar to this!!
Yeah man I remember playing this game back in the day, and the part at 2:42 made me feel almost euphoric.
1st part of the OST was the sneaking moment, the 2nd one was before combat and the one you talk about is when shit got intense
Yes it was Alexander, the only track he did for Unreal II
Do you know who wrote the music for Intro?
@@alexcazares4868 No sorry
goosebumps incoming
2:42 has no business slapping as hard as it does
Totally agree. This is the only track that feels like "Unreal" to me.
outpost is also natti na koja abad aswell it was unrael
ouuu ai just love this game.. and its graphics are awesome!!!
the best music ever...
Then Mr Brandon goes directly to my list of great composers, close to Mateo Pascual (who made the wonderful soundtrack for the "Commandos" saga

This track was composed by Alexander Brandon.
me gusta esta musica!!! como se llama? no tardaria en bajarla!!!!
Unreal 2 is not bad game but not so good like original Unreal. Shame that Alexander Brandon didn't compose music for U2.
it's in my blood!
Yeah but it was still a pretty epic game.
CAN I GET A HELL YEA!
I do hope so

This song is the only good thing about Unreal 2.
I was about to say that
Too bad the game was shit. Did not make justice to the first Unreal.
