I had a wonderful Stepfather everybody called Mac. 1week after he married my Mom, we went off to build a cabin in a lake community, there was over 400 acre's of woods connected to the back, with permission for a 14 year old to wander, and the Lake was around 75 acres, . We built our cabin, he showed me how, He was a great man But too much older than me, WW2 Vet Guadal Canal, I miss him more the older I get. He's been gone so Long. You wearing his Shirt .....
Fake or not. Who cares if he is 20 feet from his driveway. People can be idiots. He is showing you his skills, and what you can aspire too. I love this type of content as well. What are we supposed to think? That he is surviving off the grid, and somehow his tribulations are recorded, and placed on YT? lol, Whatever!
I am impressed by all shelter buildings; in back yard, in the field, on top of a mountain and in the woods. I don’t have skills or land to build anything, so, I’m very impressed. 👍🏾👏🏽
Hello from Oklahoma! Good Video! Thank You So much for showing how to build a viable dugout type shelter. And in so many different ways. They all look cozy and warm. I can see this will be a lot of work but worth it in the end. Thanks for all You Do! God Bless!
I live in Oklahoma and so many have remarked they wouldn’t build one due to the copperheads and rattlesnakes here. My uncle came here in a covered wagon about 1912 and his mother was widowed, they lived in a dugout for awhile till they could get something better. And it was in an area known for lots of rattlesnakes.

You always do well at what ever you build Mr GR... love watching your videos ❤ Big hugs to sweet Bonny and the puppy family 🐕 Take care and be safe out there 🕊🎅🏕❤🙏
I don’t know why folks start their fireplace so high. It’s the difference in air pressure between top and bottom of chimney that creates draft, removing smoke. Start low, heat rises. Unless it’s just decorative, like in a heated house. Stay warm and safe.
It's WW II: you and a team of Partisans are in the mountains. This is a fine shelter. Today, as then, one would need a supply chain to provide for food. For efficiency, each of these shelters would need to be sized for two persons. Firewood would quickly become scarce. Just lately, there are drones and heat-sensing devices that do not allow Partisans to hide. This is still a fine shelter for a hunting camp or a vacation.
Another good video. There are people all over the world living in cardboard box that would love to have this to live in. Here in the USA there are People that could not start to build anything like this for lack of know how. They depend on the Government for hand outs I guess it's like that everywhere. From UTAH STAY SAFE
I truely enjoyed your video. Don't know about others but i thought it was done great. Would love to havs somerhing like that to go to during all four seasonseven mmaynbe spend a week during abig snow. Keep up the great wok.
Saweet video thanks for sharing. You know what could make it super neat and if you plan on adding any renos. May i suggest extenting the front and adding a deck and making a secret underground bunker under the deck. That way you can be in your main living area, create another room for wood storage and anything else but in there lays a secret panel. 😅😊
BRÁVO MR. KOSTAS.👏👏 Another AMAZING build. Dont know how you do it my friend, but I'm sure glad you do. 👍 Love the videos sir. God Bless and stay safe.😊🤙

A lot of work, and well built- impressive. My only concern is - especially if spending a winter in it- it should be deep enuff to stand erect... and be able to maintain a supply of wood and food for those inevitable stormy days and nights. Well done and good video as well!

Even though he is using modern tools, he is using a method of construction that has probably been used for thousands of years until the advent of modern construction technology. It's amazing what someone can create using simple tools like that to build a warm and comfortable shelter that will probably be around for a very long time.

I love watching the bushcraft videos! This is one my favorite builds so far...love how it turned out!
Beautiful shelter, very well though out.
WOW!! The dedication and passion are very present in the style of that shelter!🎉
Man this guy is good, he built that in 46 minutes!
30 minutes if you take off the time at the end where he was slacking and had supper and a break followed by a cuppa tea in the morning... :)
Lot of hard work went into building this but it looks so cozy with that fire and being able to cook on it too. Good job.
Loved that, i was wondering about the window and the roof lining.. Oh, well! Love it! 👌✌️👊♥️
great work real nice dugout

Will the wood in concrete last as well as using stone?

Nice cozy build. The only thing missing is a Pit Bull.
So useful 😊

Cool, can you show us your hut construction then?
Easier to work the fire at that height. No bending low....
Ur right. But at the same time he's heating a space no bigger then ur closet, that is pretty insulated.
It helps distribute the carbon dioxide evenly throughout the cabin.
Heat rises and with that big ass window and no glass he has plenty of cool air coming in to send smoke out the chimney
Άξιος!!!
Καταπληκτική δουλειά!
Now that looks cozy 😊
Ωραίο σκηνικό, φιλαράκι...
Impressive work, Great Shelter for year round camping 45:26

Heyyy.. your builds are getting even better each time you make one. Keep up the good work. very educational

Well done and good video as well!
You never cease to amaze me! Wow! But how long did it take you to build such an awesome shelter?
You never cease to amaze me! - Beat me to it.
This is what it's like to live in one of Bob Ross's Paintings.
Chance of cabin: 100%
I love it. Looks great to me.
Unless I missed it, I don’t understand how you got all the milled lumber. Otherwise greatly enjoyable watch!
There's a Home Depot in the next clearing.

Each log represents about a foot of solid insulation. Your dugout likely insulates better than my city condo here in Alaska.
