1946 vintage TV playing

My RCA 621TS television almost ready. still some issue with the sound to fix. The picture tube is a MW22 as the original picture tube was broken. The picture size is set to match the size of the mask in the cabinet.

Television has actually been around since the late 1920's, imagine how far advanced we would be, if not for the Great Depression and World War 2, no one could afford them during the depression and nothing was built during the war, that's a lot of wasted years.

Do you have the chassis? Those round tubes are interesting. Is the big tube ( valve), a triode? I watched American Bandstand in the 70s & 80s.

The chassis type is 621TS, this is the fist TV RCA has start producing after world war2, it sold for $225 back in 1946. The housing cabinet is currently at the antique furniture restorer. The big tube on the right is the AC rectifier tube

Nice TV. I'm from Poland and in my country there are no such old TV sets. Due to the fact that after the World War II my country was ruled by the communists and there was an iron curtain for me, the first televisions were created in the late 1950s, and they became popular only in the 1970s.
