  • This is a very detailed tutorial on creating a one-stroke rose for face painting. I'll show you a simple design and then break the rose down to it's parts so you can see what your brush should be doing. Using the angled shaders gives you the ability to drag the white across the bud so that you can keep your white brighter and make thin wispy flair lines.
    Supplies used:
    Custom one-stroke rose with white/red/raspberry
    One-stroke leaf cake
    American Painter 5/8" angle shader & 1/2" angled shader
    Round brushes & white

      Thank you! As you can see from the photos at the end, I don't usually put the buds in a line but I wanted you to see how they are just variations on the same bud.

      I really do like the angled shaders. I just bought some American Painter square brushes and they were splitting on me...definitely like the stiffness of the angled ones.

    I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for creating. You do your demo at a nice pace and explain very well. I like the way you show each brush and love the angle brush concept instead of flat. Am excited to try it with the angle.

    I buy my brushes from Hofcraft because they are almost wholesale prices. They have a great selection of round brushes and filberts and specialty brushes. I also got my Rinse Well there. Then I don't feel badly about trying new brushes because they are even cheaper than coupon prices.

      Start with Silly Farm. They have all the brands. Heather also has a whole video tutorial bank that is very helpful.

    What is the cheapest way/place to buy snazaroo face paint for someone who is just getting started in the business?

    • @paintedparty
      @paintedparty  6 лет назад

      Alexis Ericksen Why Snazaroo? You can buy a few to try with coupons from Michaels and Joanns. Snazaroo is okay for sponging on bases and I actually like getting white for Sugar Skull season but I've heard too many complaints from other painters to buy more than that. The colors are pretty dull and like work difficult with them. I would start with a FAB palette. Silly Farm has a weekly 10% off deal. It's a good hybrid paint that is easy to sponge but still good for line work and they don't stain as bad as DFX or TAG. I especially have some favorite metallics of theirs. I now use almost all Funstrokes from Global for one stroke work but even those, I have favorites. Search Pinterest for me and I have a whole board of my favorites.

      Mehdi Raza java sorry! Just noticed this. I believe both of these cakes are homemade. Any rose cake that has white on one end and high contrast will work. In fact, a homemade cake with just red and white makes amazing roses. My favorite for girls is TAG Stargazer and for more dramatic roses Dfx Evil Rose is awesome.

    do u need to reload at any time??

    • @paintedparty
      @paintedparty  9 лет назад +1

      +Brenda Presil I usually reload after I do the large outer petals and the small buds. You might want to watch my Loading from One Stroke Cakes video to see how to reload without wasting a lot of paint.
