It's really not hard to get pronunciation right while singing. Your just repeating a tune (which is very hard to do as well as he does dont get me wrong.) But singing in another language is easier then speaking it.

Unlike English, Spanish and Japanese pronunciation doesn't change. I took Japanese one semester in college back in '01 and it was easy for me to pick up and understand. I still remember quite a bit from that class.
