I worked at Hot topic as a sales associate in 2017. That job was terrible. The management had favorites to where 90% of the time I would be scheduled one day a week without reason and that shift would be cut 20 minutes before I was supposed to show up. If you sell it at Hot topic or it is in the punk like fashion perfectly fine, coming from a former store employee, that uniform policy is also why no one knows who's shopping and who's actually working
