Fantastic livestream as always AMB. I caught snippets of this one when it was live, though at the time I was not feeling good. I am grateful that this stream stayed up to catch up. Thank you AMB 🙏💕
I like seeing the blind contour drawings, or the single line drawings. They remind me of wire armature sculptures. When I feel low, or even overwhelmed, I tend to do this process of drawing. It is relaxing, and I am not worried about pretty drawings in the initial stages. I even do this for my “scribble” pass on my animations. I just let it flow.

@@AMBAnimation question, but what videos on your channel would you recommend for me to study to better understand animation/pacing and timing to get fluid frames (2's or 4's)

Your opinion on Disney nowadays reminds how I feel about Disney. Of course the renaissance and post renaissance 2d films are nowhere near as the 9 old men films in terms of analyzing how great the animation. Ward kimball, Milt Kahl, Frank Thomas, Ollie Johnston, Bill tyltla, Freddie Moore, etc are the greatest animators that I admire, don’t get me wrong. And I respect your opinion that you prefer the 9 old men movies over the renaissance and post renaissance 2d films. Yet i prefer the renaissance and post renaissance 2d films over cgi films like frozen, chicken little, wish etc

Agreed those - projects are hardly worthy of even being called 'films'...

Frank Thomas in particular is a master of subtle animations.
Including the Snow White funeral scene, laying Aurora to rest, the spaghetti scene, his work on Lady Tremaine.
He knows when to show restraint or go bombastic, and blends perfectly into character.
Milt Kahl is a master of complex animations, even mentors the rest of his peers. But he can be rather heavy handed (head bobbles).
