  • Whale cruises are a popular Monterey Bay activity to view these endangered species. The best boat outfits are in Moss Landing where you can also see sea lions, harbor seals, and sea otters in their natural habitats. These are year round so I show you what you can expect early Spring and Summer.

Not as much as I'd like to! Things are starting to open up again so hoping I can get back to a more regular filming schedule soon...

Yay! So glad to see you all going outside since SIP. Years ago I took the whale watching tour at Pier 39. Their boat the Kitty Kat takes passengers out to the Farralon Islands . it's hit and miss but we did see a grey whale pop up. Yes, domamine helped! A lot of passengers got sea sick. :)

It was fun and I might do it again once they have a handle on covid. I'd like to go out in April when the Orcas are around. There were definitely seasick people on both cruises this year!

Hey there! So great to hear from you. Covid life has been busy and I've been sitting on several unfinished videos. Hope to complete one soon and get it up! Do you use Instagram? I tend to post more there so another place to go for content. I just came back from a trip to Southern Oregon and hit some really great hikes, vineyards, breweries and farms that are documented there :)

Great video, what outfit did you book your Whale watching tour with in Moss Landing? Nice work.

Hello! I booked with Sea Goddess cruises mainly bcuz they had a special on Groupon ;) They have one of the larger vessels so if that's important in terms of space. There are 2-3 other outfits there with smaller boats (pro is that the smaller vessels tend to be more aggressive with whale chasing).

Hi Gabo! I filmed this during two seasons; the first half in winter and the second half in summer. Certainly summer was warmer than winter but it was still cold over the water (plus wind chill). I had on a windbreaker and it wasn't enough -- would have gone with a sweater underneath and gloves. But then I get cold easily!! The boat tours will suggest layering so you can take it off if needed.
