    I have sent them a letter and they’ve removed the taxes I owed but it seems I filed the form late for two years in a row. Can I send another letter to appeal ? Is it possible they will forgive me a second time ? Thank you.

      You can send them a letter as far as there is reasonable excuse for the late filling. In some cases they accepted the appeal even its second time.

    I’ve just filled mine in and paid the fine that they sent me and now they’ve sent me another saying I’m 3 months late for not sending it, I know the figure for how much tax I owe from when I was self employed so I’ve obviously filled it in and sent it off but they’ve not sent me or given me a way to pay it.

      You can go to gov .uk website and search paying self assessment. You can pay online please make sure you put your UTR no in payment reference.

    Hi! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I’ve left the UK in Jan 2019. 2 weeks ago I’ve received a message to pay 300£ fine for late filling tax return . Is it considered a reasonable reason showing that I’ve left the country in 2019 and I had no reason to pay taxes as I don’t leave there anymore? Thanks

    Thanks for the info…I’ve just had a £100 fine for not filing my return. What I don’t understand is why because I have paid after doing my self assessment form and had a receipt for said payment, what have I missed?

    • @acumenaccounting
      @acumenaccounting  2 года назад

      There is deadline for self assessment tax return submission if you miss the deadline HMRC send you late filling penalty. You can appeal the penalty by writing to HMRC if you have reasonable explanation.

    Hi, is it possible to get waived of the penalties if your tax return is 9+ months overdue? I had a miscalculation on whether I needed to file a self-assessment or not and then moved houses so didn't get any of the penalty notices

    • @acumenaccounting
      @acumenaccounting  2 года назад +2

      Hello, you just need to write to HMRC and explain then why your return was submitted late. In most cases they accept the appeal.

    hi I received a 3684.39 bill for a partnership that never took off in 2013. I did send it back then but the tax return was lost in the post. they sent debt collectors after me many years ago and I was unemployed and couldn't pay. I thought they wrote it off. now they have sent another statement of liabilities. I have filled an appeal form but I have no data to fill a tax return now. what should I do?

    • @acumenaccounting
      @acumenaccounting  2 года назад

      You need to submit the outstanding return that’s very important. Even you take this to the court your return is still not submitted. Get this done and than file an appeal.

    Hi, I registered for VAT for my UK limited company & did not do ay business. I did not file a return & HMRC sent me "VAT notice of assessment of tax" & asked me to pay GBP 1,643. How can I appeal & file a late nil return now to get rid of this amount?

    • @acumenaccounting

      Hi, you just need to file your outstanding VAT returns. Once HMRC received the outstanding VAT return they will update there record and this notice will be cancelled. You just need to submit VAT return as soon as possible.

      We strongly advise to send appeal letter to HMRC as soon as you can. Explain everything in the letter and you have strong chances this will be cancelled.

    Hi I have been sent a penalty notice for a self assessment.. I have worked for the same company for nearly ten years..I do not have any second job or was self employed..did not receive any benefits. Why has this happened?

    • @acumenaccounting
      @acumenaccounting  3 года назад

      Hi Stephen,
      These notices send by HMRC computer system and some times no explanation why they send notice to file self assessment by an individual. Just simply complete the form and put your employment income. In future we don’t think they will send you further notices.

    Hi, I just received a 1303 fine for not submitting a self assessment statement in 2019/20. I received no communication about this until the fine has reached this amount. I only opened the account at the behest of my employer who I was caring for and sent her invoices for hours worked. I thought that was all I had to do. Please advise me on what I should do
