Nishane has become one of my favorite houses recently. Hacivat and its flankers are some of my most worn fragrances in my collection. I need to send you a sample of Hacivat Oud to try out, stuff is very expensive but very good.
Some folks love them and some folks hate them
Niche brands put a dollop of amberwood on their edt fragrance and call it "Exclamatory extrait" and charge 400$. Fan your flame gives me Dry coconut flakes mix with Paan masala/chewing tobacco like vibe. My relationship with fan your flame is I appreciate it and still choose to stay away from it.

Love at first sniff for me and one of those 4life frags that will always have a place in my collection. Opening I would agree with everything you said, beautiful rum with coconut, tonka and tobacco. To my nose it’s not dirty, ashy tobacco but smooth. I find your drydown expirience interesting, I never detect any leathery, animalic notes nor oud/oud accord notes. In my expirience I get dried tobacco and woody notes in the drydown along with some smokiness and sweetness from tonka but not that much. Also the quote is really beautiful and I love it how you can interpret that quote in many aspects in your life. Love the review, I will try to sniff out those animalic notes that you get. Greetings from Croatia and idgaf I’m wearing this bad boy during summer also (but at night only and 2 sprays max) and it’s hot in my country😅
For me there is a marked shift between the opening/ mid and the late dry down... it's the late dry I was referring to, maybe I didn't explain it very well lol

I'm glad you did this. Fan your flames has been on my short list for so long, I've started to feel sorry for it, just sitting there watching all the other frags get added to the list and purchased.....🥺. I have yet to try any Nishane, maybe this will be my first. Happy to hear you got some solid time with your daughter - that's the good stuff!!!

I still have a bottle with the black cap and with "Istanbul" mentioned as home of the brand. I got it for a small price back when they were pulling their old bottles from the market in order to later re-position the house as a more luxury niche brand and amp up the prices. I think the scent is perfect for a night at a stylish wood-paneled cocktail bar.

I own 4 Nishanes, and Fan Your Flames was the first one I got! I just love it, can't explain :) My recent purchase was Kredo, which has an obvious Oud Wood similarity but has more... oomph.
I haven't smelled that one but I really want to ... I think that's the one rumored to be created by Jean Louis Suizac

When I opened this video I literally said “Really dude you hate Nishane!” then was quickly corrected 😂. I also generally despise Nishane; but this one I have several travelers-interestingly I don’t get a lot of coconut (which thing because I’m not trying to get to Camelot), it pulls kind of spicy on my skin, which is why I like it….need to get B612, have heard good things.

I really like Nishane as a house, and I have 5 perfumes from them. I've not sniffed FYF. I strongly suggest you get your nose on Mana - it's one of my favorites in my entire humble collection. As well as Afrika Olifant - my SOTD - sophisticated animalic dirty leather oud (probably synthetic oud, to my nose). Awesome stuff for frag-heads.
I have a decant of Afrika Olifant so I will do a early impression soon ... never smelled and I don't think I have any Mana I will put it on the list 🙂
I have a decant of FYF and absolutely love it. I WILL be getting a full bottle in the future.
I am so glad to have a bottle... although it seems to be one of those scents I forget about and then when I remember it I love it and then I forget about it again lol

Hello Ramsey, any recommendation on a good civet scent on the market ? i like diaghilev i have a decant but dont wanna buy a full bottle for those prices, i have salome, i tried sacred scarab and civet from zoo and got 0 animalics.

Yes you could try those two or just go straight to Kouros (vintage if you can find it 😉)

Scandal is Rojas take on things like YSL Poue Homme & Chanel Pour Monsier... but none of them will smell as "updated" as Scandal PH
