Of all the units you've criticized, Serval actually is fine to use against Aventurine. His dice mechanic basically just punishes anyone who couldn't either hit multiple targets or burn a turn to not attack. Serval's basic attack hits an adjacent target, and therefore allows her to win the dice game while regaining a skill point.

I also did the same thing when doing the story on my alt. Dan Heng IL was my most invested in DPS so I tried to see if it would work. Got Aventurine to second phase 10% left lmao (My team consisted of only DHIL with an AoE attack) Used a scuffed Level 70 Clara and managed to beat him with my entire team alive

It's smarter to build him more with defense in mind if you got at least more than 2500+ atk. He doesn't need more than that, and no unit requires it more than that. Even Blade, who tends to have bigger HP, wouldn't care to be healed beyond that. So, going more with defense (HP+DEF) for Luocha, is a good thing. He is among units that have like the worst defense, and in current content, with current enemy inflation? He is gonna drop like a fly if something decides to just as much as tickle him couple of times in a row.
the problem with tiktok is that many players are either a) convinced they can play the game like genshin, meaning that they play their favorite characters and no real team comps, b) are allergic to taking advice on strategy, and/or c) incapable of reading. i've actually seen people say that you should be forced to actually strategize and you should be able to play the game however you want.
Bruh in genshin they'd also struggle if they just used characters that they like without caring about synergy, as well as artefacts, talents and weapons xD Even in open world they would struggle. Yeah Genshin is an easy game, but not THAT easy to make it work with these many screw ups. I won't even mention abyss, they probably wouldn't even reach floor 9
Definitely in like 90% of content teams need to be built and have team synergy. MOC, Pure fiction and bosses aren't really something you can genshin and it's weird that tictock seems to think otherwise. Only place I can see random teams working is in the overworld and simulated universe but even then they gotta somewhat work together. Tictock is a weird place
I've seen players be like "jingliu is my favorite character ! and then ask "why is my team losing hp" some people genuinely cannot read kits or put an ounce of effort into understanding them
Acheron with no nihility characters gives me psychic damage, like not only are you losing a fuck ton of damage, her burst is basically never going to charge. I've seen worser teams than that though, at least firefly and ruan mei have synergy

I felt bad for him because if you have no idea what's going on unbricking an account takes a lot longer in gacha games than in traditional rpgs. Hence the importance of guidemakers and decision making. He'll get there but I only mildly invested in bad units/strategies at the start and it still feels like a huge waste. i cheesed the aventurine fight with natasha, herta, serval, and march 7th for an hour and i made it with only serval as a casualty, idk what these tiktokers are doing with better units than me 😭 and i've only been playing for a MONTH 😭😭
Misha is actually very meta for break effect teams vs ice weak enemies. Pairs great with HMC. He has the strongest break % in the game with max stacks.
he is quite good, I use him togetjer with Herta at Pure fiction with Ruan Mei, and they doing a pretty good job. not godly of course, but it's good enough imo

I joined an HSR Facebook group with tens of thousands of members. The most popular recommendation for clearing "hard content" (quests) was triple sustain. Also common things: -massively negative SP teams, especially with DHIL -"It's fine if I only use basic on DHIL" -no idea about stats at all (phys % orb on Bailu, 2.7k max hp at 80) -leveled 3 traces at the beginning of the game and then never continued -never rear any light cones and just equipped anything and then leveled it up. DHIL level 80 with 3 star LC doing 4k damage with a BA3 People just literally do not read or think in a strategy game

There were posts of someone already using fire TB, March 7th, and a healer and being told to try 3 sustain God forbid we teach people how to play the game so they don't struggle when the next patch drops again

Yeah, Misha is extremely underrated, this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. In this specific boss fight he's actually as good if not better than E0 Jingliu. 1) Weakness match: check. 2) Splash-based skill: check. 3) Bounce-based ult against pure single-target boss: check.
What's funny is that Misha is the perfect counter for Aventurine. My first time clearing that fight was actually with Misha as the sole dps. His ult not only breaks fast but he also has a high chance to freeze which cancels Aventurine's All or Nothing.
Misha is not only of an element Aventurine is weak to, but he's got Bounce, which allows him to hit every dice to win the gambles, and then deal crazy Toughness DMG against Aventurine himself since he's the only enemy.
I used a pretty decently built Misha in the fight, and I can say he and Luocha hard carried. Hanya and Kafka(for whatever reason I brought her) were there just for show.
i had no idea the bug was hard by the luck of having team comp of entirely physical, imaginary, and quantum 💀 and i beat adventurine pre-patch with no idea it was supposed to be hard. but i do die to yanqing regularly. it’s fun seeing the meta be completely different from my play-through XD
Can confirm, I had a massive skill issue with the bug for way too long and I really needed to beat it because most if not all the characters in the team I was running at the time used his stupid drop. Ended up gitting gud and beat him with little difficulty afterwards. Pissing my pants just imagining fighting aventurine rn but I should be good (clueless)
Most my DPS HP are around that, and I'm using average relics (average as in good normal stat and not godly min/max crit rate/dmg, yes F2P), sometimes 4k but that's about it. Probably the only characters that goes up to almost 8k was Bailu back then, and now I'm using Huohuo (after got her and chnge it for Bailu) at around 7.5k HP.

On defense of those using Misha and/or Serval, that dice minigame can wreck you if you have characters that only attack one enemy at a time, and Aventurine is also weak to both ice and electricity so it makes sense

Well, in defense of player at 14:40 if it was pre-nerf Aventurine, he can melt through Support Unit surprisingly fast with his 2nd phase ult, my Sparkle got one shot from 80% with a HP body and HP sphere . Not to mention, Houhou is an offensive sustain without the “Oh Shit, my team about to be on low before my turn” button.
Yeah, Huohuo is insane against continuous damage and DoT effects due to her small, but very fast heals. However, Aventurine's attacks come in the form of giant nukes that Huohuo can't fully heal before the next one comes.
That's why I semi-built a few 4 stars I rarely use, just for that difficulty spike in story quests and level 60+ stages. Funnily enough, some of those 4* are now fully built and occasionally used for endgame content, even if they're off-meta.
14:36 This is also one of the worst comps for this fight you could possibly bring on multiple levels. 1. Imaginary Resistance. DHIL is not cooking. 2. Every other unit auto loses the dice game. 3. The way the team is arranged doesn't make sense, as moving Huo Huo to the left lets you heal/cleans every other unit on the team. With how it's arranged now, you literally have to chose between healing DHIL or cleansing the supports. 4. Silver Wolf can't guarantee Imaginary weakness, and even it Lynx was sustaining, It would only be a coin flip to get Imaginary 5. Because Huo Huo has to solo sustain and the order is inefficient, she's going to have to heal every turn, which sucks because... 6. Aventurine drains energy and constantly inflicts imprison, which lessens the frequency of Sparkle using her ult, making the entire team extremely SP Negative (not even inefficient, negative). DHIL is far worse for this fight that Serval and Misha, and Ratio has a terrible time as well.
Yea this team sucks against the boss but at least that player understands the general hypercarry setup, the other teams in this video should never be used anywhere outside of meme builds
Reason Fire mc is great is because it makes aventurine target him for the dice roll on the first phase, and his enhanced basic attack allows him to get max rolls on the dice easily
I wouldn't say he's a glass canon. He's not that fragile and can solo sustain decently well, compared to other dps's(besides Firefly, as she heals herself as well). I'd say Hunt units are more of a glass canon, or Arlan(though he doesn't do massive dmg but yeah)
im glad other people are pointing it out but Serval is actually extremely useful against aventurine. im new to the game and dont have many units capable of getting through the fight but she carried hard! the dice mechanic is catered towards aoe units (the more dice u hit, the more likely you are to pass the roll count) so not only did she do most of the dmg against his shield (lightning weakness) but passed nearly every dice roll, which was so important in the second phase. i was able to get through with her, PMC, march 7, and gallagher🥲
honestly im pretty sure the reason why people kept dying at aventurines boss was because 1. Using Imaginary dps 2. Not having the right weakness; 3. Using 2 dps that are both skill point hungry 4. doesn't know how to play the game

I basically did my best to keep getting xueyi's ult back up and breaking aventurine which was then delayed by ruan mei and blade chipped away at aventurine's health. Tho half my team was dead by the end cuz I didn't have any good preservation or abundance character. Anyways what I wanna say is, I forgive Ruan mei for trying to bring back tazzyrnoth's kids who destroyed everything firefly ever had

I play this game from day 1 and my bailu still e1... And good for her, she still keep up with storyline until... She meet adventurine... And than i start take over, build her team, level up her character... But with everything she have... Most of her relic is trash, her trace mostly level 6 or 7... Now her best team is Follow Up Attack team... Ratio, Topass, Robin, and Bailu... (Bailu is the only sustain she build) So... I understand that kid... When he mean full build... It's just level character, weapon and relic... with bad mainstat and bad trace...

If your Sustains were mid, yes. Free Dr Ratio brought in a bunch of players who'd never have a good 5* Sustain option (Fire TB doesn't count, those shields barely do anything) due to lack of reruns. Lynx was often the best option these people would have, and if memory serves me correctly, even the free Lynx requires some understanding of Pure Fiction. If you had Fu Xuan though, the fight was a joke. Pulling her makes 90+% of content in the game almost trivially easy.

tbf double dps =/= bad, it just depends on what team. JL + blade, kafka + blackswan, most fua teams are technically double dps teams. As long as you have a strategy/wincon aside from "more dps means more damage"
my team was actually so horrible, and I was stressing because my friend told me it was hard then I proceeded to beat it first try with no difficulty, although maybe I forgot to do my equilibrium thingy either way I think I still could of beat it with minor upgrades
I did Argenti, Kafka, Serval, Natasha and I still beat it Post nerf of course. But it's literally skill + team issue if you cant make at least usable teams. At least align the weakness elements and use aoe units. Just be smart on skill point management, mid af character builds, and knowing how characters and bosses work
Not worth it, I almost got all misha's while just wanting my third Gallagher to make him cleanse debuffs. Spoiler, got 5 Mishas and I could only get E1 Gallagher, so, tough luck.

I can't judge this people because My team was actually worst and i still won, i used Bailu, Fire MC, Sparkle and Black Swan i don't know How but i was able to, i was testing different teams for a whole and and used this one Just to de-stress and somehow i manage to win
5:41 I like how this one was probably due to both 1, team position, and 2, his overall comp: Blade and Huo Huo should be in the middle, due to needing to take most of the hits since Silverwolf and Jingliu Don’t have a lot of HP, 2, he’s running dual Dps (jingliu and Blade.). When he does this, he needs a team wide buffer to counteract to lack of another buffer (asta, Ruan Mei, Robin, technically bronya, that type of stuff.) he used Silverwolf, which while good at implanting Weakness, isn’t going to help inside of the damage department. Combining that with how aventurine works, which is high single damage, and long stall time. (Both to mess with your own sp and team management but also to allow for healing.) It kinda does explain how he died, since Jingliu has no way of building stacks (outside of Huo Huo.) blade is building off jingliu, and Silverwolf builds off blade. The whole chain crumbles once jingliu is out of the picture, and then you’re stuck with a Huo Huo and a blade. This comp would’ve probably worked if he had a Ruan Mei or pela, to allow for more damage, which would also survive the stall phase, but he ran Silverwolf, and this happened :/
I thought the team I used to win against Pre-Nerf Aventurine was bad (Fire TB, Sparkle, Acheron, Welt) but holy shit these guys are dying before even getting him to half hp, what the fuck???
That's actually a decent team in general even if your Acheron is E0, if your sparkle is well built enough she can make up some of the damage loss from not activating acherons A4 trace by giving Acheron more turns to build stacks
I played HSR for a month or two when it came out and stopped, and then like a week ago started playing just to go through the story and I didn't think that people could have problems making teams... Theres a button in the game you press that shows you what teams to make with people and they seem to work pretty well. I reset once on the Aventurine fight because I misunderstood the dice thing at first and wiped. After that it was smooth sailing.
To be fair the boss has been nerfed since it came out. I was clearing everything easily and played since pretty much day 1 but I actually wiped to the story boss twice

I tried Aventurine on my smurf account and it was more difficult than the one on my main (Acheron x Welt and Pela, that's a lot of damage), but when you know that you lose because a lack of luck on the phase 2, but dealing sufficient damage, you have just to bring AoE characters. Whith Gallagher as sustain, Pela as a debuffer (also idk why Tiktok players hates Pela, she's incredible), and Jingliu and physical MC (I didn't have any better as my smurf account was quite recent) as damage dealer, Aventurine was defeated. Also, build your characters efficiently, it helps
There was a guy that was complaining about his DHIL being too weak (also unironically kept calling him Dan Feng) and I wanted to help so I asked him about the build. He persisted that build is good and skills are maxed out (they were not) but finally showed me it... There was an Effect Hit Rate body, poor Crits and guy literally had no idea what sub stats are. Said he got it from tiktok. What the hell are those people 💀
6:06 for that specific fight, double sustain is so valuable, I ran my blade/Jingliu team as well and just... died xD (pre-nerf). At least with double sustain you survive, even if it takes ages to win lol. 💀
The only way I could see DH IL being used is if they have his E2 solely because it grants him three charges and his energy regenerates fast (or maybe that's just my Dan Heng IL). I honestly thought aventurine's boss fight was hella easy (before he got nerfed). I just used E1 Acheron, Kafka, E1 Bronya, and Luocha....or maybe it was Dan Heng instead of Acheron I don't remember 💀

Because Jingliu and Blade specifically is a good team, they have low skill point needs and Jingliu helps Blade lose more HP Also you have to understand that double DPS works because you know that kafka and black swan is good, which happens to also be double DPS
In the blade JL SW HuoHuo team, my bet is he had to constantly skill with HuoHuo to stop everyone from dying, which meant both blade and Jingliu couldn't skill. Remember, Both Blade and Jingliu do not generate skill points in their enhanced forms, even if they cost less skill points than other DPS overall, you still need to generate skill points, which means only SW can generate them for all 3 characters, because again, HuoHuo must skill almost every time to stop people from dying.

It's smarter to build him more with defense in mind if you got at least more than 2500+ atk. He doesn't need more than that, and no unit requires it more than that. Even Blade, who tends to have bigger HP, wouldn't care to be healed beyond that. So, going more with defense (HP+DEF) for Luocha, is a good thing. He is among units that have like the worst defense, and in current content, with current enemy inflation? He is gonna drop like a fly if something decides to just as much as tickle him couple of times in a row.

the problem with tiktok is that many players are either a) convinced they can play the game like genshin, meaning that they play their favorite characters and no real team comps, b) are allergic to taking advice on strategy, and/or c) incapable of reading. i've actually seen people say that you should be forced to actually strategize and you should be able to play the game however you want.
Bruh in genshin they'd also struggle if they just used characters that they like without caring about synergy, as well as artefacts, talents and weapons xD Even in open world they would struggle. Misha is actually very meta for break effect teams vs ice weak enemies. Pairs great with HMC. He has the strongest break % in the game with max stacks.

Also common things:
-massively negative SP teams, especially with DHIL
-"It's fine if I only use basic on DHIL"
-no idea about stats at all (phys % orb on Bailu, 2.7k max hp at 80)
-leveled 3 traces at the beginning of the game and then never continued
-never rear any light cones and just equipped anything and then leveled it up. DHIL level 80 with 3 star LC doing 4k damage with a BA3

The Misha slander is not appreciated. Misha was a beast in the Aventurine MoC fight.
Yeah, Misha is extremely underrated, this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. In this specific boss fight he's actually as good if not better than E0 Jingliu. 1) Weakness match: check. 2) Splash-based skill: check. 3) Bounce-based ult against pure single-target boss: check.
What's funny is that Misha is the perfect counter for Aventurine. My first time clearing that fight was actually with Misha as the sole dps. His ult not only breaks fast but he also has a high chance to freeze which cancels Aventurine's All or Nothing.
Misha is not only of an element Aventurine is weak to, but he's got Bounce, which allows him to hit every dice to win the gambles, and then deal crazy Toughness DMG against Aventurine himself since he's the only enemy.

I used a pretty decently built Misha in the fight, and I can say he and Luocha hard carried. Hanya and Kafka(for whatever reason I brought her) were there just for show.

Most my DPS HP are around that, and I'm using average relics (average as in good normal stat and not godly min/max crit rate/dmg, yes F2P), sometimes 4k but that's about it.
Probably the only characters that goes up to almost 8k was Bailu back then, and now I'm using Huohuo (after got her and chnge it for Bailu) at around 7.5k HP.

Well, in defense of player at 14:40 if it was pre-nerf Aventurine, he can melt through Support Unit surprisingly fast with his 2nd phase ult, my Sparkle got one shot from 80% with a HP body and HP sphere . Not to mention, Houhou is an offensive sustain without the “Oh Shit, my team about to be on low before my turn” button.
Yeah, Huohuo is insane against continuous damage and DoT effects due to her small, but very fast heals.
However, Aventurine's attacks come in the form of giant nukes that Huohuo can't fully heal before the next one comes.

That's why I semi-built a few 4 stars I rarely use, just for that difficulty spike in story quests and level 60+ stages. Funnily enough, some of those 4* are now fully built and occasionally used for endgame content, even if they're off-meta.
14:36 This is also one of the worst comps for this fight you could possibly bring on multiple levels.
1. Imaginary Resistance. DHIL is not cooking.
2. Every other unit auto loses the dice game.
3. The way the team is arranged doesn't make sense, as moving Huo Huo to the left lets you heal/cleans every other unit on the team. With how it's arranged now, you literally have to chose between healing DHIL or cleansing the supports.
4. Silver Wolf can't guarantee Imaginary weakness, and even it Lynx was sustaining, It would only be a coin flip to get Imaginary
5. Because Huo Huo has to solo sustain and the order is inefficient, she's going to have to heal every turn, which sucks because...
6. Aventurine drains energy and constantly inflicts imprison, which lessens the frequency of Sparkle using her ult, making the entire team extremely SP Negative (not even inefficient, negative).
DHIL is far worse for this fight that Serval and Misha, and Ratio has a terrible time as well.
Yea this team sucks against the boss but at least that player understands the general hypercarry setup, the other teams in this video should never be used anywhere outside of meme builds

im glad other people are pointing it out but Serval is actually extremely useful against aventurine. im new to the game and dont have many units capable of getting through the fight but she carried hard! the dice mechanic is catered towards aoe units (the more dice u hit, the more likely you are to pass the roll count) so not only did she do most of the dmg against his shield (lightning weakness) but passed nearly every dice roll, which was so important in the second phase. i was able to get through with her, PMC, march 7, and gallagher🥲

Lynx was often the best option these people would have, and if memory serves me correctly, even the free Lynx requires some understanding of Pure Fiction.
If you had Fu Xuan though, the fight was a joke. Pulling her makes 90+% of content in the game almost trivially easy.

No matter how new you are, at that point of the game, you must have at least some kind of knowledge about the game. Unless you are using someone else's account and you haven't played for that long then yeah understandable.

tbf double dps =/= bad, it just depends on what team. JL + blade, kafka + blackswan, most fua teams are technically double dps teams. As long as you have a strategy/wincon aside from "more dps means more damage"

Post nerf of course. But it's literally skill + team issue if you cant make at least usable teams. At least align the weakness elements and use aoe units. Just be smart on skill point management, mid af character builds, and knowing how characters and bosses work

Man, I applaud you for doing that. I’m obsessed with the idea of running "canon" teams simply because playing around restrictions is interesting, and it beats running meta teams for story.
People complain about Meta but I've cleared everything without it, it's just about:
A. Your ability to build
B. Knowing what units to use when

Luo cha only need more than 2k5 atk , he can heal fine, if you luo cha hp too low he will use the auto heal on him sef and can't save the other, im mean you dps like 3k5 hp at max , do you even need luo cha to heal 5k hp to you dps , even blade don't need it when luo cha will auto heal when he hp half and he can heal himself too

Misha is actually quite good for breaking Aventurine's toughness with his ult, if you don't have decent characters who could do that already.

How did these people even get to Aventurine in the first place; trial Jing Yuan was probably their best character in the Phantilya fight.

Blade and Huo Huo should be in the middle, due to needing to take most of the hits since Silverwolf and Jingliu Don’t have a lot of HP, 2, he’s running dual Dps (jingliu and Blade.).
When he does this, he needs a team wide buffer to counteract to lack of another buffer (asta, Ruan Mei, Robin, technically bronya, that type of stuff.) he used Silverwolf, which while good at implanting Weakness, isn’t going to help inside of the damage department.
Combining that with how aventurine works, which is high single damage, and long stall time. (Both to mess with your own sp and team management but also to allow for healing.)
It kinda does explain how he died, since Jingliu has no way of building stacks (outside of Huo Huo.) blade is building off jingliu, and Silverwolf builds off blade.
The whole chain crumbles once jingliu is out of the picture, and then you’re stuck with a Huo Huo and a blade.
This comp would’ve probably worked if he had a Ruan Mei or pela, to allow for more damage, which would also survive the stall phase, but he ran Silverwolf, and this happened :/

That's actually a decent team in general even if your Acheron is E0, if your sparkle is well built enough she can make up some of the damage loss from not activating acherons A4 trace by giving Acheron more turns to build stacks

I played HSR for a month or two when it came out and stopped, and then like a week ago started playing just to go through the story and I didn't think that people could have problems making teams... Theres a button in the game you press that shows you what teams to make with people and they seem to work pretty well.
I reset once on the Aventurine fight because I misunderstood the dice thing at first and wiped. After that it was smooth sailing.
To be fair the boss has been nerfed since it came out. I was clearing everything easily and played since pretty much day 1 but I actually wiped to the story boss twice

I tried Aventurine on my smurf account and it was more difficult than the one on my main (Acheron x Welt and Pela, that's a lot of damage), but when you know that you lose because a lack of luck on the phase 2, but dealing sufficient damage, you have just to bring AoE characters. Whith Gallagher as sustain, Pela as a debuffer (also idk why Tiktok players hates Pela, she's incredible), and Jingliu and physical MC (I didn't have any better as my smurf account was quite recent) as damage dealer, Aventurine was defeated. Also, build your characters efficiently, it helps
There was a guy that was complaining about his DHIL being too weak (also unironically kept calling him Dan Feng) and I wanted to help so I asked him about the build. He persisted that build is good and skills are maxed out (they were not) but finally showed me it... There was an Effect Hit Rate body, poor Crits and guy literally had no idea what sub stats are. Said he got it from tiktok. What the hell are those people 💀

Because Jingliu and Blade specifically is a good team, they have low skill point needs and Jingliu helps Blade lose more HP
Also you have to understand that double DPS works because you know that kafka and black swan is good, which happens to also be double DPS
Until I got Firefly my team ran a dual DPS with Robin and Lynx as supports
In the blade JL SW HuoHuo team, my bet is he had to constantly skill with HuoHuo to stop everyone from dying, which meant both blade and Jingliu couldn't skill.
Remember, Both Blade and Jingliu do not generate skill points in their enhanced forms, even if they cost less skill points than other DPS overall, you still need to generate skill points, which means only SW can generate them for all 3 characters, because again, HuoHuo must skill almost every time to stop people from dying.
Dhil and Natasha always on the crime scene for these
Do note that not everyone is at max world level so the strengths of characters may vary. I did aventurine at a lower world level.
I beat Aventurine first try and was surprised to hear people were having trouble, seeing as my account isn't very strong.
