Awesome video, really excited to the next episode. I've seen compound turbos in the diesel world primarily but on a Rb rare. It will be interesting to see what the exhaust back pressure will look like on the smaller turbo since usually the larger turbo compressor outlet is feeding the smaller turbo compressor inlet in terms of efficiency and turbine sizing.

    1.Are there 2 60mm gates?
    2. Does the small turbo gate dump into the crossover pipe to the large turbo or to the atmosphere?
    3. Was the backpressure higher in the manifold or crossover pipe?
Im guessing the backpressure in the manifold was 30-37 psi and the crossover pipe was 20-28 psi?
Really curious for the results and hope this makes another appearance!

60mm from manifold to the interstage pipe, 44mm off the interstage pipe, higher in the manifold as I would have expected (and was told would happen). EMAP was dependent on total MAP but was exponential in how it gained. If this kit had been built with a WG on the manifold as well as not being a log manifold I am curious what the changes would have been.

Do you feel like compounding on low octane pump gas engines like 4-6 cylinders etc... that choosing the small turbo with the most turbine wheel/ ar housings options is more critical than the big turbo?
Ive never done it but want to, from what ive read on different threads the backpressure in the manifold is a problem that makes or breaks the combination really looking forward to the next one!

I agree with you that it seems to want to make it or break it. As far as compounds on pumpgas cars I really think they wont win as often as the lose to a good twin scroll setup for comparable power. Built engine or more octane and then things will change. Why I want to build one of my own to use as a test bed. That being said the small turbo with lots of choices where it is outline interchangeable would make figuring out combinations a lot easier. In the end there is a lot that I dont know, a little that I think I know, and even more I want to learn about how it all functions.
