Penn State has a better strength of schedule than Texas and Tennessee. You act like 32nd is a travesty when Indiana is sitting there with 100th and Texas at 56th. Outside of Georgia, Texas hasn’t played anyone either and they lost that game at home by more than what Penn State lost to Ohio State by.

4:14 they expanded both the SEC and the Big Ten with top teams from other conferences. Penn State played West Virginia, USC, UCLA, and Washington this year. Those would historically be looked at tough non-conference games. Not their fault the teams didn’t turn out to be very good.

Penn State has a top 40 strength of schedule. Only lost to the number 2 team BY 7. Prior to the USC game the week before we played them the MEDIA RANKED THEM 11th. We come back and beat them in the road when everyone thought we were done for. Oh, USC is a bad team. Illinois was ranked, we beat them. Oh, it’s Illinois. People want to say, oh this team is better, this team is. Penn State is ranked number 4 because they beat everyone, but the number 2 team in the country and they only lost by a TD. Tennessee has 2 losses and one was to an unranked Arkansas, Bama has 2 losses and one was to Vandy, Ole Miss has 2 losses. Only speaking as a Penn State fan, I’m not defending Indiana, but Penn State is ranked 4th because we’ve only lost 1 game by 7 points to a really good team, on top of that we do not have a weak schedule. It isn’t death row, but we aren’t playing Indiana’s schedule. Logic. The committee is rewarding Penn State for losing to Ohio State, ESPN is full of clowns. The committee is recognizing that Penn State’s only loss was a respectable loss to a top 3 team in America. A 1 loss team being ranked higher than a 2 loss team makes sense.

The Big Ten is the best conference in college football this season, followed closely by the SEC.
If the selection committee chose the 12 best teams, the CFP would include Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Indiana, Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and there really isn't a 12th best team because there are a lot of teams that could fill that position, but it would have to be Boise State because of the close game with Oregon.

You can complain about an 8 team conference schedule and cupcake week, but the SEC’s SOS is still better than yours. Perhaps people should start looking at their conference and start asking why aren’t we more competitive or balanced?

  • @iXUZDAP
    @iXUZDAP 9 дней назад +2

Given the "strength" is calculated week-by-week, we''ll see the SEC strength weakening a lot when all games are played. LSU, Mizzou, SC should all be unranked, weakening Ole miss to drop out or at most, the lower part of top25, then this becomes a domino effect, dropping all but the champ out of the playoff.

Notre Dame literally played five ranked opponents in a row last year, Alabama‘s out of conference play is Mercer? USC voluntarily chose to play LSU smack them around Notre Dame voluntarily played Texas A&M smack them around. The SEC only plays itself and rarely ever goes out of conference. Notre Dame does not have control over zone schedule to certain degree. They required to play five ACC games a year for their other sports to be a part of a conference. We voluntarily chose to play FSU who was undefeated last year thinking they’d at least be a six and 473 team this year, Louisville is always really good for an ACC team. Everyone cries the Notre Dame doesn’t play a conference when they’re actually playing in a partial conference with the ACC with the required five games and if I’m correct, Notre Dame is 27 to join partial conference games 27 wins three losses ACC in the last four or five years.

SEC schools shouldnt lose to Vanderbilt and Kentucky.
While i agree that UGA and their #1 ranked SOS is underranked... PSU has better SOS than the top 2 (currently) rated SEC teams...

What is IU suppose to do, lose? IU happens to be better this year than other years. How is IU's SOS helping them when they played the two teams that was in the championship game as well as playing Ohio State? Why all the hate on something they can't control? I guarantee you that the views against Ohio State will be the most watched game this year over every team that has played.

REALITY SEC is not going to have 6 teams in playoffs. They will only get 4. What is your 2 teams that will be left out??
    1 Texas, 2 Alabama, 3 Ol' Miss, 4 Georgia, 5 Tenn, 6 Texas A&M.
I think currently it's Tenn and Texas A&M will be out if everyone wins out in those top 4 teams.
    BUT!!
If Georgia Tech beats Georgia. Georgia is OUT
If Alabama loses to Auburn. Alabama is OUT!
If Florida beats Ol' Miss. Ol' Miss is OUT!
If Texas loses to Texas A&M that could turn it upside down. depending on Sec Championship.

The football schedules are put together around 10 years in advance. Nothing can really be balanced. No way 10 years ago that Georgia knew this would be the toughest schedule in college football, same for Indiana. Yeah, you can put what looks like a "cupcake," but who knows what happens between now and 10 years down the road. Anyone that put Florida on the schedule 10 years ago would be, well that is probably a loss. SEC and BIG10 have so much money, so when a team beats an SEC or BIG team, it's has defeated one of the top 40 most wealthy teams. Even loyally Purdue has more money than most of the other teams not in the SEC and BIG. Ross Aid stadium is nearly full for every home game this season.

Penn State vs top 4 OSU close game/close score
Texas vs top 4 Georgia not close game/not close score
    Penn State at Wisconsin 28-13
    Oregon at Wisconsin 16-13
    Illinois is a ranked team/should be #15
Only Georgia OSU played harder sch Alabama Miss played a little harder and lost to bad teams.
Everyone else played weak sch and lost to bad teams/notre dame byu Miami Boise state.

Yes that’s why ranking people have loss to topm4 teams by 7 pts as better then winning against a top 5-15 team.
What did Texas do in top 4 vs top 4 Georgia not close 27-7 with 30-15 final score.
Penn State should be higher then Texas.
