Towing Bofors light air defence guns, fire control equipment and generators in 1974 in BAOR. The autobahns were littered with broken down trucks and guns from Dortmund to all points east. Crap equipment has always been the bane of the British Army. Thank goodness the Army has the best soldiers in the world.
Travelled down from Shoeburyness Essex to Larkhill Wiltshire with 26 Medium Regiment in 1965 for exercises towing 5.5 inch field guns. Eighteen guns plus other regiment vehicles at 20mph max. Must have been very popular with other road users. Good memories.
Yes great sound - the B81 is good for converting money into a nice noise. The difference between the B80 and the B81 is capacity. B80 is 5675cc and the B81 6516cc. The B81 has a bigger bore but the same stroke as the B80.
