Love how dry and to the point this comment is. So true. My grandparents truly endured some shit as well. Training doesn't keep you alive accuracy and mindset does
Goggins is the best, I thought his book is an absolute must read. The part of him telling about how someone died in his 3rd hell week doesn't do what he goes into detail in his book about it. It's the realest part of the book in my opinion and it really makes a person respect what people do to become a Navy Seal. I thought I knew what I was before reading and listening to the audible of "Can't Hurt Me" but now I know I have so much untapped potential and I kick myself because of it. I'm working harder now than I ever have in my life because of his books. Yep that's right I said books. I'm currently reading "Never Finished" it's just as good if not better than "Can't Hurt Me" I highly recommend both books if you are feeling like you are depressed or have no friends, family or think you are worthless. His books will make you think again, I promise.
Proper legend. Much respect
This man has gone through hell willingly multiple times, through debilitating pain that an average individual could only imagine. Look at where he is now and as crass and forward he is, look at where that energy is pointed to. He is consistently honing his existence, he is consistently trying to motivate others with how he lives. He still serves others whilst keeping himself deadly
Thank you for your service !.
Never quit Never ring the bell keep going.
Obstacles are not roadblocks; they are tests of your courage, determination, and resourcefulness.
Goggins the great! Any time I feel sorry for myself i think of this guy and his perseverance
He’s insane but awesome for it.
As difficult as BUDS was. You made it. Thank you for sticking with it. Your positivity paid off.
Marcus Aurelius also believed in the importance of controlling one's emotions and desires. He wrote, "You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength."

Arguably one of the toughest men alive. That man could look in my general direction and I would surrender immediately.
Straight Beast. One of the most inspiring men on the planet. #GogginsBeast
He could break my bones with nothing but his voice
It’s funny goggins describes building his mental toughness, I relate in the same sense exactly.
I mean that’s literally what all conceivable branches and their sub-classes all teach you. The Physical pain is not the worst part; It’s the Mental pain you have to push through to keep going.
Think about the 54 Hour Crucible marines have to pass before they become marines. You go to the bathroom once before hand hand, eat one single MRE, and then you have to go 48 full hours without a chance to use the bathroom, eat or even sleep.
At the 48 hour mark, you get a 15 minute nap, one single MRE, a chance to piss and shit in a hole, and then it’s another 6 hours of worse physical pain than the first 48.
.
It doesn’t matter how physically strong you are, that’s literally the foundational purpose of the Crucible. If you have a shit Mentality and cannot ignore the pain, the hunger, the urge to shit, and the urge to pass out, then you immediately fail out of the Marines completely.
Your my hero Mr goggins!
You’re
Apparently proper grammar is your enemy son
Week 4 in basic training I shattered my left foot on a rd march. They wanted to med brd me out. I told them to give me a brace or cast that would allow me to keep training. I got recycled from week 9 back to week 4. Went 17.5 weeks total on a shattered foot and still graduated infantry Basic, AIT, and Mech school with flying colors. It's 90g mental and 10% physical. You g2 put the pain at the back of your mind or use the pain as motivation to keep on keeping on! Gary Owen, HOOAH!
this man is beyond inspiring
They better make a movie about this man
Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Hell week and Buds is only the beginning and not the end in itself.
You got to deploy and use the skills to serve.
Making it through Hell Week is great but it's the reason behind it that matters.
Correct!
Goggins explains his third tour for the remaining of the training in his book “can’t hurt me”. Actually it maybe only on his audiobook since he is interviewed in the audiobook.
He knows that but he is specifically talking about hell week
He did Deploy by the way he deployed to Iraq and think somewhere in South America just fyi
@@seanm7539 seen combat as well
Makes me think about a fighter and to improve, you need to fight someone more skilled and tougher than you are in order to grow. Those three hell weeks must have taught him an incredible amount as compared to one hell week. I can’t even imagine
Making him redo hell week after hell week is diabolical
During SOI ITB, I failed the 20k hike (very last hike in order to graduate) due to heat cramps and got dropped back to the next company coming through. Basically had to start at the beginning again, it truly took some soul seeking to discover if I could put myself through it all again. I completed the 20k hike this time and it was an amazing feeling. I can’t imagine what was going through Goggin’s mind having to go through 3 hell weeks, man is a beast!
Goggins for president
Talk about steel of mental toughness.
Someone said Hell week is the one which separates Boys from Men..Dude proved to be a man 3 fcking times
My buddy recycled ranger school at the end of florida 3 timed, dude spent 6 months straight in Ranger School. Then he got his tab
And he’s still not a ranger bc he probably never served in regiment
Are Rangers and Special Forces considered SpecWar?
Ranger regiment is, theres a difference between going to ranger school and being a ranger. Ranger school is a leadership course, graduating it earns you the short tab.
In order to be a ranger you have go through selection, earn the scroll and be assigned to and serve with the regiment.
Short tab is uniform candy, scroll is special operations.

Prime example why females shouldn't be in the military and really most leadership roles inside the government. He's giving her extremely deep advice, and you could tell she didn't like the idea of examining herself. She doesn't want accountability, just like my female SFC who couldn't even pass a PT test and was an E-7 for 12 years. The interviewer then has to throw the "3 times" at him instead of a positive response. Let's see her survive hell week.

Everytime I see Goggins all I see is handsome Squidward
I was peacetime army infantry and got a little taste of misery now and then. But BUDS looks like as much fun as picking cactus needles out of your family jewels.
At phase 3 of hell week, the Seals ordered David to do nothing as punishment because he was enjoying himself too much, while all the others were dying of exhaustion.
After hell week was secured around noon on Friday I did a quick mental inventory and thought to myself I could go another week. I wasn’t a stud or anything at other evolutions but my my average performance didn’t take a massive nose dive during hell week unlike some guys who were studs on sunny days when they were healthy and warm.
With that mind strenght, he could be a doomslayer in real life
We had a white steve urkal come through my rotation of 911 bootcamp. 3 people died in my platoon.
This dude came in unable to do a single pushup in a kneeling position. He made it to the crucible and dropped out three times.
He was sent all the way back to day 1 bootcamp each failure.
When we all saw him after those 90 days the dude was doing 30 plus pullups, was shredded, and his eyes lost all soul and were hollow, cold, and served to kill.
He ended up serving 20 years. I'd be afraid to knock on his door.
