This is definitely some of the best film work I've seen on RUclips. You adapt so well to the constraints you put on yourself (the BW, the 21mm), and the city is alive in your work. I'm pretty stunned by what you did in such a small window. I'm excited to see what else you do in the future.
Such a great set of photos and overall video. I have to admit that after seeing a few of your later videos I finally went and got myself some fomapan 400 to experiment with. The photos of this particular video are the ones that moved me towards that the most :)
I really admire how you managed to align the tone of the narrative with the flow of various emotions in the pictures, all accompanied by just the right type of music. That's a work of art in itself. And what an insane amount of intriguing photographs. That was very inspiring, thank you!
Great video bro. Great shots. And the best location on earth to shoot. I visit at least 3-4 times a year. And great to see Steph. Hope to see more of her in future videos. Great to see the two of you in this new quasi vlog style. It works with your story telling. 🙏🏽
Wow, I love your videos. Love your style of shooting, and also how you compose the videos with your narration. This video really makes me want to use fomopan 400 and a 21mm. So fun. Thanks Jeremy!
" . . . to take inventory of what I spent our money on." Lovely to hear it phrased like this, with ownership and respect given to your partner, too. Thanks for so thoroughly documenting the trip and sharing so much of it with us! You got some great shots that you'll be able to relive the experience through for years to come. And congrats on the book and 8E Summicron v1! I've been very interested in that lens (and the LLL remake) for a few weeks. Hopefully you'll share some thoughts and photos about/with us some day.
Glad you enjoyed it! haha yes… I shot the LLL clone for quite awhile, though I haven’t yet made a video on it, hopefully soon. Amazing lens for the money!
Algorithm is doing me dirty. I changed from subscribed to the all button, so I don't miss anything. Great mix of video and still film photos. Catching up on the rest of your vids.
The discovery of your videos and your photography was strangely timed at the perfect moment in my journey as a film photographer. I only ever shot color film, and recently I forced myself to give up color for some time. I am just beginning to feel how freeing it can be to shoot black and white film and bulk loading. And I happen to have chosen Fomapan. Can't wait to see what the future brings to you :)
Hexar RF!!! I bought mine about a year ago. I use it along with my M3 and Xpan 2. Love to hear your thoughts or perhaps an upcoming video review I hope! If you ever come to Vietnam, I'd love to take you out for a coffee. Or next time I'm in Singapore, I'd defs be down to meet up if you're down!
Hi, thanks a d congrats for this nice edit of your trip. I really loved some pictures. Can you tell me what tool do you use at 35 seconds at the very beginning of the video, which allows you to switch from a negative to the following and shoot them instead of numerise them ? Thank you !
Hi Jeremey awesome video.. would really love these kind of pov videos. I wanted to ask a question I am confused whether I should buy an mp or buy a combo of m3 and m2. What are your thoughts?
Hey! Glad you enjoyed it! Oh tough decision, it really depends.. If you’re comfortable with sunny 16 / handheld metering, and don’t mind slower film loading, definitely the combo!
Stunning pictures, congratulations, it’s very inspiring. How do you meter these shots ? Is it the fomapan 400 or do you measure so that highlights are on zone VI ? Especially day 1 everything is wounderfully silhouetted
Really great video and love the photos. I’m curious how you’re metering in the darker scenes ? Like night or inside. You have your film rated at 800 or 1600 ?
Foma 400, rated 800! For metering in general, I’m referencing the cameras built in meter. For most regular shots, pointing away from specular highlights which might throw off the meter.
Amazing images.- out of curiosity how do you find those plastic reusable canisters? I hear some have issues with scratches, I've only just started bulk loading Fomapan 400 and haven't noticed anything yet, but thought I'd ask yourself
Thank you! Some brands are worst that others.. I’ve had some where the felt would come out on the negatives, and inside the camera, it was a pain to clean. I’ve since gone back to using old rolls of colour film!
What a well produced video, very good work. I need to revisit Foma 400, it looks like your pushing it 2 stops or so, is that correct? Can I also know what development you're using? I really like the vibe your getting, I think I need to let go of shadow detail (HP5) and just embrace the Foma400 look more.
Awesome video. I did spy the xpan on your shoulder..along with a tripod a backpack a camera bag and jug of water. I just hope your back is fine after all that weight and walking. Did you let the film go through the X-Ray machine or did you ask for a hand check?
Hah yes, my back is fine. The gear is light compared to medium / large format! :D All film was hand checked, though 1 or 2 rolls might have been scanned as I didn’t bother removing film from my cameras
Unmatched vibes in this one. Impeccable song choice. some great photos too.

song choices are all impeccable, along with such beautiful bnw street photography
Great set of images! Bravo!
As a HongKonger, I am familiar with many of the places in your video. There are many good places for street photography.

Really enjoyed this episode. I have always loved HK, and this captures what I love about it
Absolutely amazing! About to get out my f6 and shoot this coming weekend
Awesome trip, great pics. The effort that went into producing this all is mind blowing, really appreciate it all.

Thank you….! I hope black and white has been treating you kindly!
I’ve watched this video like three times, amazing work Jeremy, thank you for this. I’d love to see you review the Voigtlander 21mm Nokton F1.8!
The review on the Nokton is on the channel :)
Your best video, so far! ❤ 🎉🎉🎉
Very well made. Love the mood. The music was a good mix too 😊 What scanner u use for scanning? U showed some snapshots in this video's intro. Thanks 😊
Wow, I love the look of your images! What are you exposing for with your MP? Highlights or shadows? Thanks!
Was sitting half way through the video thinking, “man, are we ever going to get a Jeremy-T color series…”. Looking forward to some xpan goodness!
Keep them coming man ❤
excellent compositions
Nice video and pictures, will inspire me as i intend on rolling my own foma film

For now… just RUclips! :)

Hey! If you’re referring to the scanner, I used a dslr mounted on a copy stand, pointing at a film carrier - Negative Supply 35mm Pro Carrier
Great video Jeremy. Really love your work, you always capture images that are so ethereal yet very familiar.
wow! what was that shop with all the books, film, and black and white framed photos called? I want to visit next year!
I visited a number of places! Fotopia, and that specific one with books was called Meteor.
@@jeremy-t amazing. I’ll try to go!! Love the vibe and all the books 😍
where can we find your work? Your ig is bare.
You are phenomenal
Hey! For now.. haven’t quite found a platform I’m comfortable with… so…. RUclips! Hah!

Nice video! The vibes are the best in HK! May I also know where do you get the film catridges for bulk rolling?
B&H 😀
Love this! Hong Kong is one of my favorite places. You have yourself a new follower and fan!
I'm not even 2 minutes into the video but, 1:35...*fire emoji* edit: you had an xpan the whole time??? can't wait for "another day"
Stunning pictures, congratulations, it’s very inspiring.
How do you meter these shots ? Is it the fomapan 400 or do you measure so that highlights are on zone VI ? Especially day 1 everything is wounderfully silhouetted
Thank you (: Metered using the camera’s built in meter. Shooting back lit scenes without compensation creates those silhouettes!
Lol the whole video I was waiting for the xpan photos :D good video & photos mate! Look forward to the upcoming xpan video :D
love your videos. I am new to film, do you push a few stops for those low light indoor/night photos? They look really good.
Glad you enjoy them (: Yes all these pictures were made on Foma 400 pushed 1 stop. Ilfotec HC 1+31, 14 minutes, 25-30rpm, 20C.
Hey Jeremy, what are you using to auto advance the film while camera scanning?
Negative Supply 35mm film carrier!
@@jeremy-tis that the 35MD with the motor drive?
Really great video and love the photos. I’m curious how you’re metering in the darker scenes ? Like night or inside. You have your film rated at 800 or 1600 ?

@@jeremy-t thank you for your insight, really helpful!
Super relaxing. I enjoyed it. You took some good pictures. 😊
I also like a lot that you present the pictures on a clean black background. I wish more people would do that. 😅
The pictures from this high tower in the fog were super cool!

I have a question also. Did you expose for 400 or a bit lower?
Is this a 28mm focal length you're using? The perspective is amazing!
Hey! All pictures were at 21mm!
Awesome video. I did spy the xpan on your shoulder..along with a tripod a backpack a camera bag and jug of water. I just hope your back is fine after all that weight and walking.

Would you consider selling darkroom prints from this? 8:41 jumps out to me.
Aww man would have been great to have had a coffee with you in HK
Oh man, the next time!
Very shooting video bro, love it
