  • Retire in Cambodia a good idea? It was for me. Living in Cambodia as a Foreigner has been an incredible experience. In this Cambodia Vlog I go to one of the best wet markets in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Cost of living in Cambodia in 2024 is attracting many foreigners who are either thinking about or ready to retire in Cambodia.
I decided to retire in Cambodia last year after only visiting this beautiful country only once before. The wet markets in Siem Reap, Cambodia are full of friendly vendors offering a variety of fresh foods at great prices.
After shopping at one of the best wet markets in Siem Reap, I take you to my Apartment in Siem Reap, Cambodia where we prepare a delicious Khmer dish from the produce we purchased at the wet market. I'm so happy I decided to retire in Siem Reap, Cambodia and I encourage anyone thinking about it to visit first. Living in Cambodia as a foreigner might be the right choice for you. It definitely was for me.
I hope you enjoy this Cambodia vlog about shopping at one of the best wet markets in Siem Reap.

Living in Cambodia definitely is cheaper and better. The cost of living in Siem Reap Cambodia is attractive. Some items are more or less the same price but most are less and cleaner. Keep up the great videos. Good work. Keep it up. Inspiring more to retire in Cambodia who are thinking about it is admirable. You have a way of explaining things in a simple way and always answer questions and comments. Good man

If your sweating by 9am that meat must spoil fast, two hours warming up and a not so clean table for two hours then the ride home in the sun 🤔🥵🤢. I'd be there at the crack of dawn with a small ice bin to get my food.
Could you bring a box of your own containers so you don't need their plastic bags & containers or would they tell you to go away weird foreigner?

Thanks for watching! Everything has been delicious and this is how the Khmer people have been doing it for a long time. Have neighbours and friends who are from all over the world who have been shopping here for many years and they are just fine. For me, it’s been almost a year and have had no issues with food. Yes you can bring an Ice box if you are planning to stay a while that’s true, great point. I’m in and out within less than an hour. I bring my own large red plastic reusable bag that you see throughout the video. They would never be rude to you and tell you to go away. These are kind, beautiful and happy people as you see throughout all my videos. Awesome comments, thanks 🙏 I appreciate the questions! Have a wonderful day! 😀👍

@@SteveExpatLivingInCambodia Hey, I've shot animals gutted and stashed the opening against a rock for days as well. Low single figures in deg C though. The trick is if your out for a week take some rice. aways cook meat at the end of the trip with a sprinkle of rice. Then if there has been flies around, you just think it's rice 👍 Leaving the skin on, hanging is a tree and washing the meat can only do so much.
Thanks for the response, I'm a bit of a tree hugger and try to keep single use plastic as little as possible.
Can anyone go and catch a fish there? A box of beer and $20 would surely get you on a locals boat 🙂
