In this series, I will build an Explorer kit guitar from Pango Music (guitarkit.shop). This will be a multi-part series where I assemble the guitar, finish it, wire it, and set it up. In this episode, I talk about potential finishes and order of assembly, and then I actually dye the body.

I would recommend having checked out Big D's youtube channel before you started. He primarily uses Angelus dye's and you could have picked up a lot of helpful tips before you got started.

did you / are you supposed to sand before painting?

I did very lightly, but with the oil finish, it wasn’t so necessary. I buffed between oil coats as instructed.
