The intense color when using e150...

Annoyingly so. Although I like this scotch, I believe it could benefit from ata strength, leave the e150 out, and skip the non chill filtering (although it's not mentioned on the bottle (I have here) that's it is or isn't chill filtered, a mentioning would be nice).
      Still a good dram though

@@dickbruin7680 yes, I like it as well, but I am disappointed by the choices aimed at the eyes rather than the mouth.
And I like it even less hearing compliments about those choices.

@@diego.costantini True, I get you point.
It seems Bowmore focuses more into eye candy with this one. Maybe if we could try the more high-end bottles 😋... Ha, if only!
Do you know the 15yo Darkest? That one seemed to drown in e150 colorant.
Also, Ralfy has done an excellent review of this one, a few years ago.

@@dickbruin7680 I tried several of them, they are (almost) all good in their own right.
      Value/price I still go for the 12.
I tried the devil's cask, very good but too expensive.
The one inspired by the devil's cask gets close and it is still reasonably affordable.

I feel bad for the craftsmen, I know it's not their decision to dumb down their malt. Bowmore is a very tasty distillery, I enjoy the profile very much, however I am not buying the official expressions due to their mass market presentation - low abv, heavy artificial colorant, chill filtering and the disingenuous claims of "real mahogany color" when anybody knows by now that it's not.
