I lost my grandpa a few years ago, very very suddenly. He was my biggest supporter, my father figure, my safe place. I miss him every day, I miss his big hug, his words of wisdom, his old stories even when I've heard them a million times. I will always miss him, but I always will have him in my heart. I try to make him proud, study hard and I know he is proud of me. I feel your pain, I really do...my thoughts are with you. Your dad needed his mum, so he called her home. Be consoled with the fact that they are together. In my family whenever a member passes on we say, "They went to the cabin." It is a very long story so i will try make it short, but it started in 1972 when a great aunt who lived in New Jersey died (far too young), a cousin in California claims to had a dream that very morning when she passed and she told him that she was going to heaven to build a cabin and when the cabin was done, someone from across the river (in NY) would come to join her. 8 years later the next person to pass away was my grandfather (he lived across the river in NY), and when my cousin called to say, "He's gone to the cabin to be with Aunt Francis."....It consoled me to believe that they were together. Through the years as we lost more of our elder generation we would say, "There is a huge party at the cabin!" and when my grandmother passed we joked that those who where already in the cabin better hide the booze because, "here comes the General!" I won't go into how another great aunt (Dorothy) spent 20 minutes talking to a fly on the day of my grandfathers funeral and when asked, she said, "I'm talking to Peter!" Peter was my grandfathers name. She was always...ummmm...unique, but lets just say, since we were kids at the time...we don't kill any flies and shoo them away and out of the house!!! :) (sorry for the lengthy post..I am, after all, a long winded Greek from NY.)

Your grandmother sounds very similar to my gorgeous nana that passed away in 2011 when I was 15. I miss her all the time she was the most selfless and kind little lady ever and my mum had a dream where she came to her and said heaven is beautiful and that she takes walks along the beach with her own mum and walks through the colourful gardens. This broke my heart. I am sending a hug to you from me, here in the U.S. So much of what you said mirrors my relationship with my grandmother and I swear it was almost as if you were speaking of her, except she doesn't text or even know how to operate a cell phone lol. I don't know what I will do when she passes and the thought of it terrifies me to no end. Sorry about your grandmother. I lost mine in 1998 and I miss her everyday. They are the best people that you get to meet on your life's journey. And, it will take time to heal. I'm still healing. Be blessed.

you poor soul. i feel so much for you. im close to you. mine is 92. she is such a fiery soul. please take joy in the fact that she is still with you and shes always will be. be comforted in the fact she's with other souls that she missed and you will be with her again. big smile that she's proud of you and you will be with her again. huge hugs my dear. with a tearfull face, im so sorry.

My lovely Granny passed away just before Christmas and I can really relate to that feeling of emptiness as she was so important in my life. Becy I am so sorry about your grandma. I lost both of my grandmas in the past two years and it was really hard. One of them I lost recently and she was my favourite person in the whole world! I miss her all the time but I believe she is always with me and watches over me.
