I love Voddie and his boldness, clarity, and ability to make the truth clear. I have wondered though for years why the translations say “children” in Psalm 127, yet it is actually boys in the original language. Boys are the arrows, arrows in the hands of warriors so surely a quiver full would be useful. I’ve asked many pastors and wondered if someone could askVoddie his opinion. Thanks
I needed this sermon - This has been my greatest stumbling block. I was 13 - I didn’t know what masturbation exactly was it was this foreign concept. I knew what I was doing felt good, and did it - I injured myself. Got something called Peyronie’s Disease. I can’t even *make* children, unless I get a *surgery*. It’s led me to despair. I’ve often been bitter, and ask why did it happen to me? I want to be a father, and… I start the envy-game. Why them, and not me? Pray for me, please. I want this, but it’s a huge, *huge* struggle for me.
Not a jab at God or at the sermon I enjoyed it very much,but if children are a blessing then why have I not been able to see my son in almost 2 years?I tried to speak to the mother to work out are differences and to see him and be in his life but her answer is always he's not your son.
Get a lawyer, get a dna test, do what you need to do. What has the Lord said about your anxieties and worries? I went a month without seeing my daughter and it was awful so I am sorry to hear you are going through this. Allow God to console you and work his plan for you, and trust in him. Tribulation (narrowing) brings us to perfection (maturity). I’ll pray for you.
I don’t think he means children are a blessing in a sense of what we get out of them. Like seeing them physically or their presence or their joy. They are a blessing just having them in themselves and being able to have them all together. I know it of course also goes deeper than that. It’s also like how Voddie said it’s a blessing just to be heard by God in prayer. Even if God doesn’t answer us or hear us (to which he does) it’s just a blessing in itself to be able to pray to the God of the universe as it stands
