I'm guessing the restricted 5 in 1 things is like, you can play the full Sunny Meadows large map, or choose a small map version restricted to one area: sunny meadows chapel, sunny meadows sanitorium, sunny meadows courtyard, etc etc. Very clever way to get more mileage out of a large map.
Yes, they probably did this because the sunny meadows map seems to be the replacement to asylum, so they tried to fix the problem where people preferred not to play asylum due to its’ large size. With this 5 in 1, it fixes the problem of people not wanting to play the new map because it is smaller and not immensely large.. good job devs!

They're so dedicated and passionate about what they do that you can clearly see that with every new update. These guys deserve all the success they'll achieve and more.

I like the fact that there is an option for the no lose items. It makes learning about ghosts and other things in the game more available and easier for new players. No reward is fine imo because it kinda balanced it

Every update feels like Christmas! :D I can't wait to see what extra surprises they pack in to the new update 😍I do like the friendly ghost option to try out and become comfortable with the new maps, or if people were new, they could get more practice with the equipment than just in Tanglewood.

CampSite Variate- A smaller version of Maple Lodge that has different variations I’m confident in 1 and 2 but need an explanation about 3
I’m eternally grateful for the developers and their updates both in the Discord and in the actual game. I remember seeing a post on Steam about their 2022 roadmap being delayed, but after seeing all the content we have in store and the outstanding quality of it all, I completely understand. Being a small indie company already makes bigger updates like these a challenge, but I can’t be mad because of their transparency with the player base. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Games like these take tremendous amounts of time and effort, and I’m glad we have such great developers and artists working on this game.
I really love these developers. They show so much passion in what they do. They also show commitment to their players. Instead of like larger developers (i.e. Mojang) promising all kinds of content and then having extremely delayed releases with lots of missing content, Phasmo is only slightly late and surprises us with massive amounts of bonus content! Huge props to you guys!
I'm proud of the developer, you can really feel the passion in this game and it's fantastic. I'm so happy he continues on it and you can really tell they improve as a developer as well.
I agree. It allows people to feel the layout of maps without having to risk death. It also allows people to go through the new maps and search for all the cursed item spots so they can get released into websites and stuff like that. Or see new interactions with specific ghosts and what not. I think its a great addition.

Asylum Restricted, by the sounds of it, reminds me of the map Tranzit from Black Ops 2 Zombies. There's one big level you can play on. But then there are three smaller levels based on areas from the bigger level, for shorter/quick/specialized play.
New challenge wheel: starting with all the settings on easy, after every run you must spin a wheel to selectt a difficulty setting and then roll a dice or something to determine how much to change that setting. How many runs can you complete before it becomes impossible?
The main thing i love about phasmo devs is that they constantly keep up to date with new updates, and they actually listen to their community! Many game developers don't listen to their community and just decide to do whatever they want, but phasmo devs are on top off listening to others for ideas! Love them
Theories. 8:50 on the camera the ghost does not appear which means they either updated a ghost like the goryo or added a new ghost. “6 in 1” all cursed possessions in 1 game maybe 6 player lobbys.
It’s hard to see (I had to rewind several times), but it does appear in front of the fridge right at the end of that part. My theory with that part is that we’ll be able to record ghost events on the video camera? I think they’ve talked about wanting to add that I like your 6-player lobby theory! 1:23 ghost doesn show on camera but it shows on the wiew of the player maybe new ghost weakness that doesnt show on cameras? Its power would be dots cannot be seen from camera (like opposite Goryo) Note: I am really gonna be hyped if its new ghost
I hate to burst your bubble, but if you look very closely at about 1:26 the ghost is definitely visible on the camera, just really hard to see because of the distortion but it's definitely there. I agree that it would be a cool idea though!

It sounds like they're making small versions of large maps so that you can enjoy the style/atmosphere of everything the game has without needing to play on the huge maps
I have a good hunch that 6 in 1 is all 6 small house maps in one, since there are six. Grafton, Bleasdale, Ridgeview, Willow, Edgefield, and Tanglewood as a neighborhood.

The 5 in 1 thing sounds super cool (I'm dubbing these mini-meadows), as well as mini-campsite. I'm guessing because less players play the big maps, that having a small version that's similar in size to the houses means that even those who prefer small maps get new content. Speculating, I think that if it proves popular, we might see mini-highschool and mini-prison (with either a floor, or one side of the map closed off), and it gives them an option in the future if/when they make other big maps to have it split into smaller maps (a docks big map with a lighthouse, the lighthouse being the only part of mini-docklands - as it was teased before)
I agree with your speculation. I would love to see smaller iterations of the big maps. It would give small-medium map players a lot more access to maps without having to dedicate half an hour to an hour just trying to find the ghost in the first place.

imagine having a map that locked you apart from your teammates, with mini challenges to get out / evidence in each area / the ghost walking between you all just... lurking. like a puzzle. or a puzzle in each area and whoever unlocks theirs last dies. i can't even imagine how difficult that would be to make but the stress of time and the ghost just menacingly hanging out and knowing someone has to die... possibly limited number of times you can speak (locking walkietalkies) yet having to group solve something or find evidence in that area... oof. this update just got my head spinning! ❤️ you're amazing, devs! truly inspiring!
im SO EXCITEDDDD the small variants is genius and something i didnt expect to get of an existing map, one of my friends loves Maple Lodge Campsite but her computer is crap so it struggles on it, now she can play a campsite more smoothly :D for every single part of this, thank you thank you thank you devs
This genuinely looks fucking amazing. Phasmo devs.. you have continuously improved this game on every single update and I honestly believe that Phasmophobia has a very bright future ahead of it. To put things in perspective.. Phasmophobia as a small indi game has roughly 20k players at its peak each day vs Halo Infinite.. backed by a trillion dollar company which has only like 1.5-3k peak players per day. The reason? Meaningful game updates that improve the game drastically with each update and devs that care. Thank you to the Phasmo devs.. I love this game dearly!
I don’t know if that was CJ that prompted you to watch till the end, but that ghost laugh at the end is just positively spine chilling. It sounds like they may have worked to change some of the sound interactions and improve some of the audio quality as well

Sunny Meadows small is clearly still the one map, but you get a different entrance and play in a small section of the map. It sounds like they devided the map into five mini maps, basically, that you can choose to play complete or just be placed into one of the five sections, like Chapel only, lobby only, etc.
It’s crazy, I’m watching this with the Ascend Update already out, but just watching Insym get excited for me has me excited for this. An update that’s already old 😂
I like the idea of Sunny Meadows Restricted. IRL, there are many locations that are considered haunted AND have restricted areas, with the restricted areas said to be haunted by different spirits than the rest of the location altogether.
My main hype is for custom difficulty. Me and those I play with are bad at the game. so being able to adjust settings to make it more likely for us to get through a mission without at least one of us dead will be nice.
I'm ready to farm custom difficulty games on 10~15x multiplier by going into Highschool, taking a photo of cursed item and leaving immediately over and over.
I can't wait to play this game and a huge shout out to Dknighter, CJ, Lavender, and Jack Skinner. Also a huge shout out to Botsero for their contributions that helped get us to this point. So much love for you folks!
Imagine being able to have 6 summoning circles or 6 music boxes to troll someone. Which I assume that the 6 in 1 means all 6 cursed possessions in one game
So I think I have a theory on the "6 becomes 1" hint CJ said. When it shows all of the cursed objects, they are all organized in a larger ritualistic circle with the summoning in the middle and small circles around each object. There's 6 cursed objects, maybe having them in a certain way combines them into something cool??
i wonder if it would be possible for a game mode with 5 players and one person plays as a ghost director that gets to pick ghost interactions, time hunts, events etc.
If they’re adding variants to maps, I hope they have different variants to the smaller maps as well. I’d like the old Ridgeview to be a random variation that can be selected. It’d also be cool, but probably a pain to add, but a randomized variant. For example: you load up an older map like Willow and are given the new hiding spots in the boys room and living room, but the garage has the old two door entrance

The way i understand it is that there is one asylum that has 2 modes...restricted and normal...normal is like the good old asylum, one big map... Meanwhile restricted randomly restricts part of the map up to a variation number of 5 diffrent restricted map layouts...that way you get the 5 in 1 for asylum restricted and 6 in 1 with normal + all restricted...
Pretty much called they are gonna add 2maps alongside with Sunny Meadows in the last Insym video. I also guessed we'll have some new cursed item, but at this point I think new cursed items deserves their own shot in the tralier unless we all missed it. I do think Sunny Meadows deserves its own special cursed item though. Can't wait to know more about the new update! Thanks Phasmo Devs!
I mean it's Sunny Meadows with a new feature to restrict areas and make it smaller. That doesn't make it a second map, it just makes it a customizable map. Though the new campsite seems to be a new map and that in itself is surprising. Though not at the same time since they are reusing assets and making a small variant just like with Asylum, which holds people off till they create custom assets for revamps and brand new maps down the line. This honestly has me excited for a revamp of the school. Having the limited features of that would be neat as well though I can't imagine it would have a ton of variety like an Asylum so maybe they would just do a small variant like the campsite. That will be a major revamp however just like this- so I don't expect it till v0.10 in all honesty.

I’m so looking forward to seeing phasmo have their own school map and make it 10 times scarier than the one we have now But I do agree with Insym hoping phasmo releasing more new maps instead of reworks (except for high school obviously)
@@oph0322 I believe most maps that came early on, including school, all use Unity assets that can be obtained easily. Most of the houses, the school, the prison I believe is also one but I can't confirm the last one. Pretty much the idea from the devs is to make it unique and stand off from games that use these same assets. I'd love for all maps to get a revamp because once that is done then they can focus on additions later on (like major scares that are map sensitive) and brand new maps with complete custom assets. Basically get rid of the boring work now while also doing small things to tide us over for the major stuff coming down the line we've never seen. :D
I think the mini versions of the maps will help new players or players not as versed in ghost hunting to be able to play without dieing all the time, then when more confortable can go to hte larger maps.
Yeah I like the custom difficulty. I have never played any higher difficulty than easy cuz I'm scared of losing my stuff. But you also simply don't NEED rewards after a certain point, ya know once you have a full set. So it's gonna be perfect to be able to play the game on harder difficulties without worrying about losing all your stuff, just for the fun of the hunt.
Imagine a map called "Cathedral" inspired from the small chapel they showed in the trailer! Like a big church, with crucifixes being upside-down, bells dinging out of nowhere etc. etc.

I think they are two separate maps. Because in the map there is a restricted area which is closed off in the original large map.
It feels like it might be a randomized.. So normal Asylum has all areas open, and the Restricted map that has certain areas open (5 variants?).

Game started off as 1 developer in 2017 (not cj), and later grew to 4 people including Cj here, who happens to be friends with Insym.
With the no hunting and no item loss you'd be able to explore maps and other features without risking anything. Nice quality of life inclusion imo

imagine having a map that locked you apart from your teammates, with mini challenges to get out / evidence in each area / the ghost walking between you all just... lurking. like a puzzle. or a puzzle in each area and whoever unlocks theirs last dies. i can't even imagine how difficult that would be to make but the stress of time and the ghost just menacingly hanging out and knowing someone has to die... possibly limited number of times you can speak (locking walkietalkies) yet having to group solve something or find evidence in that area... oof. this update just got my head spinning! ❤️ you're amazing, devs! truly inspiring!

the small variants is genius and something i didnt expect to get of an existing map, one of my friends loves Maple Lodge Campsite but her computer is crap so it struggles on it, now she can play a campsite more smoothly :D

This genuinely looks fucking amazing. Phasmo devs.. you have continuously improved this game on every single update and I honestly believe that Phasmophobia has a very bright future ahead of it.
To put things in perspective.. Phasmophobia as a small indi game has roughly 20k players at its peak each day vs Halo Infinite.. backed by a trillion dollar company which has only like 1.5-3k peak players per day. The reason? Meaningful game updates that improve the game drastically with each update and devs that care. Thank you to the Phasmo devs.. I love this game dearly!

I don’t know if that was CJ that prompted you to watch till the end, but that ghost laugh at the end is just positively spine chilling. It sounds like they may have worked to change some of the sound interactions and improve some of the audio quality as well

i love how this update is coming out right before my birthday, feels really cool cause it's a huge update ON MY BIRTHDAY, FOR ONE OF MY FAV GAMES
Sunny Meadows small is clearly still the one map, but you get a different entrance and play in a small section of the map. It sounds like they devided the map into five mini maps, basically, that you can choose to play complete or just be placed into one of the five sections, like Chapel only, lobby only, etc.
i've only just recently started watching your phasmo videos and i've gotten really intrigued in the game, excited to see you play the update

there should be a Hide and Seek mini-game where you and your teammates have lower speed and can only hide, but the ghost has a long grace period

Asylum will be one big map that can be split into 5 separate small maps (hence the boarded-up door) for smaller groups or an easier time
Im so happy about the lose items on death thing, I can finally play with my friends with max loadout without having to worry about losing
I like the idea of Sunny Meadows Restricted. IRL, there are many locations that are considered haunted AND have restricted areas, with the restricted areas said to be haunted by different spirits than the rest of the location altogether.
My main hype is for custom difficulty.
Me and those I play with are bad at the game.
so being able to adjust settings to make it more likely for us to get through a mission without at least one of us dead will be nice.
Im so excited! Cant wait to see the challenged people make with this.

I'm ready to farm custom difficulty games on 10~15x multiplier by going into Highschool, taking a photo of cursed item and leaving immediately over and over.
I can't wait to play this game and a huge shout out to Dknighter, CJ, Lavender, and Jack Skinner. Also a huge shout out to Botsero for their contributions that helped get us to this point. So much love for you folks!

Imagine being able to have 6 summoning circles or 6 music boxes to troll someone. Which I assume that the 6 in 1 means all 6 cursed possessions in one game

So I think I have a theory on the "6 becomes 1" hint CJ said. When it shows all of the cursed objects, they are all organized in a larger ritualistic circle with the summoning in the middle and small circles around each object. There's 6 cursed objects, maybe having them in a certain way combines them into something cool??
i wonder if it would be possible for a game mode with 5 players and one person plays as a ghost director that gets to pick ghost interactions, time hunts, events etc.
If they’re adding variants to maps, I hope they have different variants to the smaller maps as well. I’d like the old Ridgeview to be a random variation that can be selected. It’d also be cool, but probably a pain to add, but a randomized variant. For example: you load up an older map like Willow and are given the new hiding spots in the boys room and living room, but the garage has the old two door entrance

Friendly ghost, no rewards. No loss of items, no rewards. I like this.
To be able to mess around without fear is awesome. To be able to learn everything you can about a ghost, without care in the world.
I think 8:50 is video taping the ghost interactions to possibly make some more money.
I'm guessing by 6 in 1 he means all cursed possessions in one map seeing as how there were 3 cursed possessions or more in one clip on the same map ... good job guys can't wait to test all the possibilities with the update :)

6 in 1.. is it talking maybe about the cursed items? There's the doll, board, mirror, circle, cards and music box. That would be 6... maybe you can somehow use them together? Or as I think Psycho thought in one video: a ritual you can do with all 6? I thought that might be a stretch at first, but now it's actually making some sense. O.o

The way i understand it is that there is one asylum that has 2 modes...restricted and normal...normal is like the good old asylum, one big map... Meanwhile restricted randomly restricts part of the map up to a variation number of 5 diffrent restricted map layouts...that way you get the 5 in 1 for asylum restricted and 6 in 1 with normal + all restricted...
that music box makes everything even better!
Pretty much called they are gonna add 2maps alongside with Sunny Meadows in the last Insym video. I also guessed we'll have some new cursed item, but at this point I think new cursed items deserves their own shot in the tralier unless we all missed it. I do think Sunny Meadows deserves its own special cursed item though. Can't wait to know more about the new update!

I mean it's Sunny Meadows with a new feature to restrict areas and make it smaller. That doesn't make it a second map, it just makes it a customizable map.
Though the new campsite seems to be a new map and that in itself is surprising. Though not at the same time since they are reusing assets and making a small variant just like with Asylum, which holds people off till they create custom assets for revamps and brand new maps down the line.
This honestly has me excited for a revamp of the school. Having the limited features of that would be neat as well though I can't imagine it would have a ton of variety like an Asylum so maybe they would just do a small variant like the campsite. That will be a major revamp however just like this- so I don't expect it till v0.10 in all honesty.
@@sanguinepub I don’t know much about unity and stuff, if I remember correctly high school and one other maps are public maps that people can download and use freely? I’m so looking forward to seeing phasmo have their own school map and make it 10 times scarier than the one we have now
But I do agree with Insym hoping phasmo releasing more new maps instead of reworks (except for high school obviously)
@@oph0322 I believe most maps that came early on, including school, all use Unity assets that can be obtained easily. Most of the houses, the school, the prison I believe is also one but I can't confirm the last one.
Pretty much the idea from the devs is to make it unique and stand off from games that use these same assets. I'd love for all maps to get a revamp because once that is done then they can focus on additions later on (like major scares that are map sensitive) and brand new maps with complete custom assets.
Basically get rid of the boring work now while also doing small things to tide us over for the major stuff coming down the line we've never seen. :D
I love the clue solving aspect of Phasmo so Friendly Ghost difficulty is actually the coward's way out for me lololol
And candles!!! More candles!!! We get 6 video cams, but 4 candles?! GIMME A DOZEN CANDLES!
I think the mini versions of the maps will help new players or players not as versed in ghost hunting to be able to play without dieing all the time, then when more confortable can go to hte larger maps.

Yeah I like the custom difficulty.
I have never played any higher difficulty than easy cuz I'm scared of losing my stuff. But you also simply don't NEED rewards after a certain point, ya know once you have a full set.
So it's gonna be perfect to be able to play the game on harder difficulties without worrying about losing all your stuff, just for the fun of the hunt.
I'm hoping for a randomizer in the custom games. Running into the unexpected is what makes this game scary.
Imagine a map called "Cathedral" inspired from the small chapel they showed in the trailer! Like a big church, with crucifixes being upside-down, bells dinging out of nowhere etc. etc.
Let Insym play it early and bug test it. I can’t wait myself.
