Note: this is just a comedy sketch and is not intended to be a serious commentary on either Charismatics or Baptists. The point is simple: can we as Christians learn to laugh at ourselves a little more often? (We also exaggerated for the sake of humor) 😉😅😅😅
Funny but I wonder a lot how to explain why is there so many churches and they are so different when there it's only one God.. I would appreciate if you could cover this topic sometimes 🙄🤗🙏
@@andrejaob The different denominations are product of Satan's division and the different churches and different ways that the Spirit moves and speaks are a result of God's diversity
I went from going to the baptist church as a child where I was saved. Then fell into the Mormon church as a teenager. Because of the great foundation I had thankfully the Lord delivered me from that false doctrine. I had a brief stop at the Episcopal church and finally landed in the Assembly of God where I was baptized in the Holy Spirit
@alphinadams6110 we do both attend the same church (pentecostal), there was a point I couldn't take it any more and we would go to a baptist church earlier in the morning and then his church after. Its definitely been a difficult process because we view things very differently but thank God we can finally talk through things without arguing and he understands my concerns about certain aspects of the charasmatic church. We recently left the pentecostal church and have been attending an evangelical church that's is more of a middle ground for us. I definitely have to sacrifice more of my wants when it comes to church, but I don't mind. We have been seeking God together in our alone time and in the Word which is most important. And he is the only christian in his family so no pressure from them. Also no pressure from him to worship or behave like pentecostal believers which is nice. We love God and each other which drives our relationship and worship differences do make it difficult all can be overcome!!
Haha.. seriously!! I grew up staunch Baptist.. and have experienced the Holy Spirit in different ways through the years. Received the gift of tongues years ago and am seeking more of Him lately.. that's how I found you on RUclips.. looking for teaching.. I heard the term "Bapticostal" while watching the deliverance conference with Greg Locke and am claiming it for myself!🤣
Not the fire tunnel 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve been what is considered “charismatic” since I was a little girl, now I can see why other Christians I meet outside of that look at me weird 😂😂
Loved the humor, wasn't offended! As a worship musician that serves at both Pentecostal (light) and Evie Free churches, I've learned we have more in common than not. Keep it up and I'm subscribing!
I know this is just for humor, but it really hits home to me. As someone who is not a cessationist and loves lively worship, but cares about good theology and holiness, it's super hard to find a church 😅😂 I love Baptist preaching and teachings, but I believe all of the spiritual gifts are for today. I wish there were more pastors out there like John Piper!
This was kind of funny to watch... even though not completely accurate! I was raised Baptist my whole life and my husband was raised in a Charismatic church. Not going to lie, it was very strange at first. Especially since they teach in the Baptist church that these things are actually evil. But, I saw a lot of things in the Baptist church growing up that made me want to run in the opposite direction. Even though I still love the people. I experienced some crazy things in the spirit realm that caused me to realize that the Baptist church is closing their eyes to some important truths that need to be revealed. But, every religion is religion. There is one God, one Father, who is above all and through all and in you all. He is able to give His children wisdom outside of what men have taught them! Bringing them to a fuller knowledge of Himself... if they will hear!
🤣🤣🤣 I just walked out of a charismatic gathering after being brought up as a Catholic; yes, eight years of Catholic school too. Thank you Jeshua! He brought me a long way and I am soooo grateful. Praise you Lord!!
This was one of the most hilarious things I have ever seen. Funniest part is almost more than half these things are true. Should have pulled up the "my pastor said she thinks our doctrine can vary at times"
As a Roman Catholic, I kinda sit back and watch these two while thinking "welp, at least it's not my problem!" ...before the obligatory Orthodox nut hates on me for supposedly doing Christianity wrong
We were not that extreme on either end, but I have Pentecostal influence and my ex grew up his entire life in a Baptist church. I remember visiting his parents’ house and on their bathroom wall was a news article of the move of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues from back in his parents’ day that they were part of. When I asked about it he had no idea his parents believed in that! I remember he had also talked to one of his childhood friends about baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues because he was unsure about me, his friend and his friend’s wife both practiced and believe in it lol! I guess these things never came up when he spent time with them 😅
Signs and wonders lasted 40 years in the wilderness, then "Yeshua" led them into the promises and the signs and wonders ceased. In the second exodus of the first century, signs and wonders lasted 40 years, and ceased at the coming of the Son of Man in 70ad. Boom
Yea, we need to just drop the “titles” and “denominations” … all they do is divide the body, and that is a sad state (no power bcz no unity) The time has come, we must be in unity to walk in what God is pouring out. ❤love the skit, need more of it👍🏼🔥🔥🔥
Is Charasmatic an actual denomination? I thought that was a term baptists use for pentecostal. Is like I've heard people in a couple states say holy rollers and I figure that's a term for pentecostals don't know what that is either.
I believe both sides actually. I'm Baptist and have been to a Charismatic church. I can see both sides. You definitely should believe in all the gifts and be on fire for the Lord, but you should also know the Bible and all the stories and to be able to apply certain verses to your life. Bottom line is everyone should be spreading the message of Jesus and how to be saved. Don't just live on the milk of the word but meditate and get into the meat of it. Satan is the one you're battling.
OMG! This made me laugh out loud cause I'm a Baptist dating a Charismatic guy and some of the stuff portrayed here is actually accurate. I don't know what to do though 😟
As someone formerly on the fence who would now consider themself a charismatic, I would say: 1. Charismatics sometimes get it wrong, and a lot of times over emphasize the emotional side or even say that God is doing things He's not. 2. But, I also have found that the more I humble myself before the Lord and lay my presuppositions aside and ask God to reveal Himself in a real way, the more I have had real experiences with God that have changed my life forever. The difference between real and fake is, is God actually the one doing this? That is something we often don't know for sure if we aren't willing to lay our pride down. (I'm not saying anything specific about you, but rather I know as human beings it's something we often struggle with. I still do.) Yet, I also believe we can show grace and walk in unity without compromising on truth. Also, if you are looking into the charismatic community and feeling intimidated or weirded out, one piece of content I suggest is The Remnant Radio podcast. They are practicing charismatics, but they come at it from a very intellectual standpoint and they are willing to call out false practices when they see it. They also dive deep into Scripture and show in detail how the things they believe are supported by the written word. :) I hope this helps.
Wow this is sooo funny because I grew up charismatic then as I got older I had learned from a baptist church on how to properly study the scripture n not be led by my experience only.
Absolutely hilarious!! This made my day! I deeply love both my brothers and sisters in the Baptist Church and the Charismatic Church ( me personally holding more to the charismatic side).
Just LOVE this Troy. Melissa O'Doherty also does great humorous podcasts tackling problems people have surrounding God, and the truth. Troy you probably know of her. It would be great if you and her teamed up sometimes in Troy Goes Fishing. Great title. God is loving your work. Keep him and his whole extended family surrounded in Your abundant grace and love. Thank you Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Amen
I'm a charismatic Christian too and I kind of felt a little bit offended about this there shouldn't be no right or wrong way to serve the Lord only what the Bible says should be the only way but that's just my beliefI.
Agree. I was not specifically speaking out against the practices in the video, especially since I also can relate to this personally. Just poking fun at the way we as Christians can come across to others. I share a lot of prophecy on my other channel, and without trying to disrespect the gift of prophecy, I still have to laugh about how odd it can seem sometimes (especially to others).
Why would any Christian feel they had to resort to a blind date instead of trusting God to cross your path with His best candidate for a spouse ? I’m a Charismatic and I believe the Lord has shown me that His taste and choice for me in that area is a lot better than mine for myself. We were too focused on Jesus and the Word to have percussion dance breaks.
I'm a Charismatic in a lot of ways too. The point of this video was simply to create comedy. I'm hoping to help us Christians learn to laugh at ourselves a little more often. :) No actual criticism was intended. ;)
Almost all christian denominations be it Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant abhor speaking in tongues , prophesy etc. but its very vital for the body of church. In hinduism their priest's always gets possessed by their deity which is completely normal according to them but its actually very evil as that person has no control over himself and is completely taken over by the deity but here people never make fun of it. However in Christianity it is so beautiful to be taken over by the Holy Spirit and He never possesses us nor is there any fear. I am not surprised why Christians eventually look towards Eastern religions be it yoga, meditation, krishna thing because we don't follow our Bible completely just something from here and there just to make us feel good nothing deep and intimate..
