- In this video, immigration attorney Luis Ruiz discusses who qualifies as a victim for a U Visa. A U Visa is a nonimmigrant visa that is available to victims of certain crimes who have suffered mental or physical abuse and are willing to assist law enforcement in the investigation or prosecution of the criminal activity. To qualify for a U Visa, an individual must have been the victim of a qualifying crime, must have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse as a result of the crime, and must have helpful information about the crime. Additionally, the individual must be admissible to the United States or be eligible for a waiver of inadmissibility. If you or someone you know has been the victim of a crime and may be eligible for a U Visa, please contact our office to discuss your case further.
