I remember this game I totally gave up on the Bronx by half time and went and got drunk. Woke up next morning thinking we lost. Little did I know 😂😂😂😂. We went on to win the grand final
@davidanthony6222 If you actually slow it right down and watch it carefully, you'll see that it wasn't forward. It's the line that Hodges is running that gives the illusion that it's forward. Just my opinion and how I see it.
My favourite story from this game is Willie Mason heading into the sheds at half time loudly proclaiming the dogs are off to a gf in earshot of Lockyer and the rest of the broncos side in an effort to demoralise them. Fast forward 40mins of game time and big Willie wasn't so chirpy.
I think I remember Mason being interviewed after the match and him saying that he can't believe that they had lost. 😂 He was absolutely devastated. Probably one of the greatest if not THE greatest comeback wins by the Broncos ever.
Canterbury bottled that game badly. I remember halfway through the 2006 NRL season the Daily Telegraph published an article which said "Can we just have the grand final now between Melbourne and Canterbury?, all the other teams are making up the numbers". That aged well 🤣
Remember this game so well. Was watching at a bar with two of my mates. We were in full Brisbane Broncos Shirts/jerseys. At half time a really big Bulldogs fan bought us a six pack of beers and said " sorry guys ,Webcke is a great player and all but better luck next year". We responded " games not over yet" he laughed and walked away. Full time I bought him a six pack and said " sorry mate , good game though". He snorted and refused the offer..my response " get stuffed then ,enjoy mad Monday:.
@@davidanthony6222 Bulldogs fans will say anything to overlook blowing a 14-point lead at half-time, not scoring a point in the second half, and conceding 31 unanswered points. Brisbane would've run them down one way or another, the Dogs were shot second half.
One of the best matches I’ve ever watched, Lockyer set about the second half like it was the last game he’d ever play. The guy was phenomenal, sheer force of nature. There was a moment after they scored and a cut opened up near his eye and blood trickled down , like some heroic born warrior from the Iliad.
I was in year seven. The funny thing is, I don't remember the details of my activities during the '06 Grand Final, but this game - I remember it well. At halftime, I went to our dark and wet backyard, completely unfazed by mosquitoes. I marched around anxiously and prayed hard for a comeback. I wasn't religious, but after the first-half bashing, I was. I heard the second half's kick-off on the telly, left the backyard, and the rest is history.
1:21 Hard to tell if the bunker's gotten better or worse. That's an obstruction any day of the week today. Back then it's given a try in no time and no explanation needed

So good. I watched that game in jail with the antenna plugged into an apple..yes an actual apple as in the fruit because the wall outlet didn't work and the cable had been tampered with 😂😂😂 When the Broncos started scoring in the 2nd half the atmosphere was like Lang Park. Cups banging on bars, everyone cheering and sledging while the acoustic bounce of the concrete amplified the noise so loud it was like we were there at the ground 🍻 Sounds crazy but that was one of the best footy games I've ever been to😂😂😂✌❤
Here we are in '23 and forward passes are a blight on this once great game. Why dont vid refs call forward passes? Because there are so many forward passes, many great games have been ruined by forward passes not called. There is a great flaw in the game when forward passes are so prevalent. Someone needs to fix this.
"Can't rule on forward passes" is the dumbest thing any ref or video ref has ever said. If the replay shows its forward then call it forward. It's that easy. SMH🙄
@@minyatawilson3095 the rule is whether the ball is forward out of the hands. It can travel forward and still be a legal pass due to momentum. That's why they dont want to use the video ref for it - it would invite so much inconsistency with the video ref which is supposed to be able to rule on things more definitively
How good was footy with Ray Warren commentating. Hearing his voice is nostalgic
Rabs would have made that Knights-Raiders final a lot more exciting.
I've always said it, no one calls it the way Rabs did. Miss the ol bugga
My first thought watching this was "man i miss rabs".

So much passion in his calls back then. Sadly towards the end of his career it didn’t seem that passion was there anymore.
