Great demo (and much better than a lot of others I saw). And you're right, this was a so called suggested video, because since day one I was very interested. I love overdrives and I tend to use them all, but off course that is very inpractical. And for every single overdrive you need a power supply, but because I have so many I switch them out and that leads to bad cables and stuff and this makes me MAAAAAD!!! I recently bought an amp that I can always set on the edge of break up. So even with no pedals at all, I can go from sparkling clean to a raw overdriven tone, just by playing with your dynamics and your volume control (and different pickups). With this one pedal, plus the extra switch to jump between the two 'Dumble' sounds..., that makes it extremely versatile. Knowing myself, I'd probably still add one or two more gain pedals (I'm thinking of the Drybell Unit 67 and then one more). But that would still give me back so much space on my board. And cables. Yeah, I think I'm gonna go for it. I just know it'll be great. Thanks for the demo. This was really helpful. Must of the time on other videos they would demonstrate one side and then the other, but as soon as they stacked them, they would change all the settings. And I hate that, because one of the reasons to buy a dual overdrive is that you can use two different sounds and then go to a great solo setting when you stack them without needing to redial all the settings!!! You didn't do that. You used this pedal the way I would, so thanks for that! ❤️
Ive built a board with the Obtanium as key pedal and a Boss GE7, a Boss SD1 and DS1 and a DigiTech BluesScreamer in its loop. Given my type of playing I could do without the DS1, saving me some space to allow a Mod pedal in front of the TC Electrnic Hall of Fame and Flashback wonder duo. Into a Boss RC1 and the Palmer Pocket Amp MKII as backup. In this setup there are a kazillion overdriven types and levels. This setup will stay with me for quite some time I think. Love it. And since the Unobtanium takes a Tele, Strat, 335 or Les Paul all equally well. I can indeed go from Mr335 through Mayer into Mr Bonamassa. Truly love it.
Hi Ole! Wonderful playing! Are you miking any amplifier for this? Or are you going direct to Cubase? The video says you eq your guitar? Just curious what you are eq’ing? Thanks
Thanks! I’m running my Olsson Custom Reverb 36 into a Captor X, so no miking.. It doesn’t mean I’m equalizing my guitar, but rather it’s a brand; Equlibrium Guitars, or in short version EQ Guitars😉 It is what I am playing👍
Yessah yessah yessah
This sounded so good! Love hearing the stuff you come up with!
