Back when so many were promoting Eth I dumped it all into BTC, don't like the indications that ETh is potentially not nearly as decentralized as BTC and based on proof of stake makes it more subject to control by big institutions and financial giants, too much for my taste. I think BTC is going to be BIG>

You missed one point. Black swan events are becoming as common as full moons that come around. 😅 we pump up we dump down it's become a market makers rug pull capitalizing on the liquidity. Take out the shorts then take out the longs. Rinse and repeat.

Spot ETF is mostly just existing money moving around from things like Coinbase or on-chain, basis trades etc. New money hasn't even come yet. ETH users are on chain doing DeFi, they don't care your ETF with a fee attached. That's concerning because this means people are thinking ETFs are better than self custody, solve that first you maximalist.

No one ever said it provides decentralization. That is job of the nodes network. Nothing ever had such a network, as it was born from genuine organic adoption among free people. Everything else was born centralized. Eth included. The nodes guarantee that the protocol can't be modified by a group of rulers. Unlike eth. We are all for freedom, you are right, but some of us have studied. That's why they are now "maximalists" as you call them. I bet that if YOU study too, YOU will be one of them.
