      I'm curious what your oil input and output temps are when floating around a chip temps of 77C. Which model miners are you running?

      I'm running two S19jPros. The oil in/out temps fluctuate quite a bit, since the system is chasing my home heating needs. I've seen them as high as 100-120F (summer) and as low as 75-85F (coldest winter day).

      @@HBIM_Channel Thank you for sharing! In the hot summer (100+F at peak) I've seen output oil temps at 53C with chip temps around 77C. I've also seen 16C temps as well in the cooler periods (dry cooler running). With my reclamation system running and some automation built in now, the temps stay within a 2C channel. I have it all setup/programmed to basically hold 43C at the moment. When the temp gets colder (we had -15F, no windchill) I pushed the temps up to around 46-47C as the exchanger in the furnace can't pull enough heat for the house at the extremely low ambient temps and it has full flow. Ambient temps of 15-20F and it provides sufficient heat for my home (2600sqft) and office (800 sqft, detached from house). At 30-40 I can barely dump enough heat. House is hot, office is hot, attached 3 car garage gets to 77F. lol. This is a 4 miner setup with s19xp units. I anticipate at 40-50 I'll have to activate one side of the dry cooler. I'm working on a solution to automate that aspect.

      @@nickdaniels7593 So on the dry cooler side, have you looked at using a mixing valve? I put one in mine it works great...when my house needs the heat (coolant temp drops), it mostly bypasses the cooler and when I don't need the heat, it directs most flow to the cooler. Your flow rate might make it hard to find one big enough, but maybe something to look at.

    6 hours to tune used to be a thing with S9 and S17. I just got an S19 95T tune "Stable" in literally 34 minutes (Zynq control board) at the lowest allowed power target.

      Yeah...I didn't want to get folk's hope up, LOL. I had one miner tune really fast...I had another take its time...seemed to take all day. Might be a good question for the Braiins team as to what can cause delays in some miners. In any case...its worth tuning it up!

    A bit off topic but did you have a preference for thermal paste or some other type of thermal solution? I've seen that on GPUs, thermal paste can wash out over time. I want to prevent this with my Asic miners.

    • @HBIM_Channel
      @HBIM_Channel  4 месяца назад +2

      Great question...the thermal paste that comes on Bitmain ASICS dissolves in the dielectric fluid. I replaced it with Indium film on my miners (see EP15-EP16 for my ASIC prep episodes)...but I think that was a huge waste of time/effort. Most industrial miners just let the paste wash away...the dielectric fluid fills the gap between the chip and heat sink and it has 'good enough' thermal conductivity to keep everything working just fine.

    What kind if w/th are you getting at those high watts. If your power is cheap then maybe it makes sense.

    • @HBIM_Channel
      @HBIM_Channel  4 месяца назад

      Oh yeah...efficiency goes to crap at high power levels...I am subsidizing my power costs with solar and I heat my house with the miner heat, so putting together the full cost picture is a bit tricky...once winter is over, I want to do an episode where I look at how this all shakes out

      @@HBIM_Channel Id be interested to see that breakdown. I also have a property with solar and going to do the immersion like you and plumb into the house for heat recovery so keep up the great vids!
