  • Another video in the '5 minute makeup tutorial' series!
    This week is dedicated to cream contouring. It doesn't have to be such a scary thing. This is a super easy way to add depth and shape to your face. In this tutorial I use the Fenty match stix, shade- Amber, which is my favourite contour stick, you can get that below..

    I've watched dozens of contouring videos. It wasn't until I found yours that I finally found a product and application that has really worked!! It's so hard to find products that compliment my fair skin. Thank you!

    Always mistrust people that tell you there's just ONE right way to contour or use one make up product.

    Girl that is NOT right. Contouring is done to add shadows to you face, not to lift. Contour can give you hollowed areas that give a more chiseled look. Lifting is done using highlighter in the high points if your face. What you did to your face made no difference lol

    • @Bethanralloyd
      @Bethanralloyd  Год назад +11

      That is completely your opinion, whatever works for you🥰

    • @Bethanralloyd
      @Bethanralloyd  Год назад +14

      And also we shouldn’t be saying a makeup technique is wrong. It should be enjoyed and played around with! That’s exactly what it’s all about 🥰

    • @rafaelaandroulaki7401
      @rafaelaandroulaki7401 Год назад +6

      Actually, you can use contour to "lift" your face. I even lift my face with blush and i get tones of compliments. Its all about how you apply your makeup to compliment your face's structure! I think her makeup is awesome.

    • @estadejong9115
      @estadejong9115 Год назад +1

      It does work! For her!!! It's using it as a lift because your eye is drawn to the higher cheek bones, the hollows are just under ( lowest line of the product she put on) you can clearly see a hollow line. It's just an easier way than setting your contour then flicking it upwards you oftenset it too low. So it's using it more like you would used to use a blusher. It looks beautiful because it looks like a more sculpted blush. And works on my face better too. She looks gorgeous and you can obviously see the contoured hollowed cheek aswell because the bottom part of the line she drew is untouched.

      Also contour on video or photo is different than real-life contour. Hence so many people walked around with grey brown stripes on their faces thinking they were snatched as kk. The whole baking etc that came with it is all theatrical make up. When I do black and white photography I look insane in real-life. It's all exaggerated. This is applying a contour stick how it naturally would lift your face in real time in real life light. One dot is all you need in reality in the hollow of your cheek in real life. Lots of people contour way too low (following hollows of cheeks when sucked in) and go too far. Basically anything below your nose will drag your face down. But it all depends on your age, on your marionette lines etc etc. So no what she's doing is not wrong, applying contour like everyone else mimicking theatrical productions and photography light , that's wrong IN THE FLESH. The only wrong thing is is that she states it as universal new way. So for people with very large apple cheeks it wouldn't be the best.
