Thanks Trevor, saw another video that suggested a much higher level of difficulty in the removal process. Followed your approach, twenty minutes start to finish. Thanks
Well done! I followed the video and easily did it! As a tool to snap the panels off you can use a bicycle plastic tool for removing the clincher tires. Don’t start this if you don’t have a t20 screwdriver adapter!
Just did this on my late 2017 S75D. Took me 30 minutes. Was struggeling a little with biggest panel. Bottom clip on the left side. All the rest is plugn play, just like this video. Thanks 👍😉
Awesome - thanks! Just successfully replaced the filter on my late 2016 Model S. Mission was a success 🙂. This filter is rectangular and a little smaller, but it's in the same place. A little head scratching was involved to figure out which way up it should go - I presume airflow is upwards (difficult to see the duct work). Seems to work fine anyway 🤷♀️
The force you exerted to remove those clips would scare the daylights out of me! Thank Goodness for Engineered Plastic! Is this the same for a 2016 Model S?
It is always good to write the Model Year in the title or mention it, mine is a 2018 Model S and it does not have the cabin filter in there. Am I mistaken ?
Great video, thank you! I was able to get the job done in about 20-30 minutes, BUT now the glovebox doesn't respond to the physical button on our 2016 model x. Any suggestions? about to take everything apart again and go back in to make sure it's connected, but any other solutions/troubleshooting advice would be great! Thanks in advance
Just opened her back up and isolated the problem to a non functioning solenoid. Not sure if I’m using that word correctly but when I press the button to open the glovebox I do not hear the click. The glovebox light works. When I set the glovebox pin, and push the button to open the glovebox the screen prompts me for the pin but does not activate the solenoid to push the latch open. Any suggestions before going to Tesla service? Thanks again in advance
Thank you very much for uploading this video. Im planning on doing the brake fluid flush, would you happen to know if the Model X uses dot 3 or dot 4 brake fluid? Thanks!
Hi I have a Tesla model X I want to change carbin air filter but on Tesla online web doesn’t have sale cabin filter , can You tell me where you buy that, thanks
While I understand that in many cars the air filter isn’t in the easiest access spot, often behind the glovebox, you shouldn’t have to remove HALF of HALF of the entire dash just to simply replace something as simply as an air filter. That’s a lot of lot of parts that might BREAK during removal or reinstall every 1 to 1.5 years and a lot for wasted time. Simply a bad design and something that wasn’t thought though and implemented as almost as an afterthought, and I like Tesla while currently owning two (different) models.
I thought the cabin filter n the Model S was accessed through the front, upper right side where you see the plastic "mesh" by the windshield. You remove the plastic panel and it is right there visible. This is for a RWD model. Maybe the Dual Motor is accessed inside as the video shows?
Great video. Elon needs to engineer a minimally invasive way to replace the filter. Tearing apart three panels, then screws, then you lost me. I hope Tesla does this via it's service because I am not this handy.
@@georgeazadian8063 On my 2015 Model S 75D, it's under a panel in the "frunk" area. No tools needed, and takes about a minute to replace. I don't know if this is a later model, or a special option?
Best video on the subject I’ve found online! The only potential improvement would be subtitles for those who don’t speak Canadian!
Thanks Trevor, saw another video that suggested a much higher level of difficulty in the removal process. Followed your approach, twenty minutes start to finish. Thanks
Thank you so much! With your video I changed cabin filter in only 15 minutes. Good instructions and useful tips!

Thank you. Now the ac work good as new. You save my kids and I this hot summer….
About to change mine right after I watch this video. Thanks man.
Best video I’ve found on the subject!
Thanks! Just used this guide and it was perfect.

Thank you for the video. where you bought whippers and filter? thank you
Autozone
The whole ripping off trim thing just kills me. Thank you for a grrat video.

Worked like a charm! Thanks!
No wonder papers in the glove compartment are always hot
Very useful video. Where did you get the tools to remove the panels? Any part numbers you can share? Thanks.
Thx for demonstrating it for us
Thank for the awesome vid. Does this method also work on 2015 model S?
Very helpful video! Thanks for sharing!

Dot3
That is strange. I have used dot 4 since the 90's on all my cars. DOT 3 is usually only for vintage cars. Any reason why the recommendation is DOT 3?
Hi
I have a Tesla model X I want to change carbin air filter but on Tesla online web doesn’t have sale cabin filter , can You tell me where you buy that, thanks
is it the same on 2018 MX with hepa filter?
Thank you for a nice video. I will do this to my model s

in normal cars the dash has bolts holding it in. in a tesla its like 95% clips. which u can buy for $.50 at ur local service center.
The earlier Model S's, it's under a panel in the front, no tools necessary and changes in about a minute. Not sure why they changed that.
Does anyone know if this works for the 2023 Model S? Been looking for a video and haven’t found/seen one
Do you have a link for that air filter?
Great video. Subscribed
How can I get the exact size for model x 2020 ??
Where did you get the tools you used?
Where can you buy official air filter?
great vid! thank you!
You need to tell what your Tesla year model!
Did you call Tesla to order the filter and Wipers?

Nope, for my 2015 75D it's under the hood as well. I'm guessing this was a post-facelift thing.
Thank You for the informative video. Do you know of a link to order the OEM biodefence filter by itself? aloha🌴🌴I'm now a subscriber! again, mahalo🌴🌴
How can I get the tools plz
Pulled the larger trim panel off as you did and half of the plastic tabs holding the clips snapped off.
Yes that happens sometimes. Good thing they’re cheap to buy. Tesla service might even give you a handful if you ask them
@@TrevPagesPlace It was actuallyb the piece of trim that boke. I have to by the whole part.
@@JamesDavis-cf4bb oh sorry to hear that
OMG, mine is the bio-weapon defense filter and it's on the right hand side. There goes my warranty😅
This cabin air filter is not for a 2022 Model S and is way easier to install than what's shown..
Great video. What a dumb place to put an air filter. Im not sure I'll do this one myself :o

so same as any other car. why dont u show the hepa filter.
🤔
I would say this should not have been so difficult to change the air cabin filter. Not for the average consumer to change.
Silver Crypto it’s super easy in a Toyota
Check the code number of the filter on Google look like a man filter.
