  • In fact, this is one of the best bikes on the market in price/value comparison.
A customer brought his bike to repair. Took his bike for a spin and said pros and cons about it.
That's my own point of view, not pretending to be true for 100 %

Are you sure you're a bike mechanic? Thats a 2 second adjustment on the derailleur to prevent the chain from falling off your top gear.

Luna says they tune gear selection to avoid the 11th gear as the smallest gear has an insufficient # of teeth to avoid chain jumping from the high motor power. So there apparently isn't a need for the smallest gear.

I had the same issue with my chain. Tweaking the derailleur helps but it still has issues. I changed my front sprocket to a 42t and added a 124 link chain. I can now get it up to about 35+ mph but sometimes the 2 bottom gears slip and make a banging noise. I may try a new cassette that sits closer to the swing arm to see if that helps. Overall I really like the bike and it has insane climbing ability! I've taken it to several different mountains and had a blast climbing and especially descending. It handles jumps quite well and feels lighter than it is. Thanks for the great review!

They way you were shifting so early, you will ruin that drive train! The bafangs want to spin high RPMs to be efficient...Ya gotta take them up until the don't pull anymore, then shift. Ease off the throttle when shifting, just like you would with a pedal bike...would you pump full blast while shifting a regular bike? no. Also, the chain jumping off the gear is a simple adjustment of the rear mech, not a deal breaker...some "Mechanic"

400 miles and have only had my chain come off once. Haven't broke a chain even though I'm trying. Box2 prime 9 in waiting. Thats not the standard display thats an upgrade the regular one is tiny like you want. The torque sensor doesn't disengage during shifts you have to back off. Highly recommended a twist throttle on the x1.

All of the issues you mentioned can be easily adjusted with minimal bike knowledge. The bike comes standard with a small display like you are talking about, you paid extra for the large one you have. As long as your not shifting while applying power with throttle or pedals you will never have a chain break or drive chain issues

    • @DenisBikeMechanic

Hey man, I also didn't mention that controllers are burning down on systems over 1000 watts. Motor produces too much heat. Especially on the trails with low speed.

Hello Yune. Belt or single speed chain with internal gear would be much more durable. But they aren't working with mountain bikes. Especially full suspension ones. But with this bike I would stay with a classical cassette.

Hi. It's definitely great value for the money. Bafang motor is a bit raw. Don't overheat it, try not to use throttle too much on low gear, can burn controller.

lamo so you are shifting well underload and using the throttle and blame the derailler i thought you where a bike mechanic think of the tension the cain would be under shifting at full throttle at 2000w
hook it up to your computer and adjust the tourqe settings it is set all wrong
i have a biktrix juggernaut ultra fs and it is smooth as an acoustic bike with the same motor it also has the shift sensor but you still gotta let off the throttle and manually switch gears with pedals its not a dirt bike

Before you plunk down your hard earned money on a product you should know how customer service agents at Luna respond to problems.
We have been upfront about processing time from the beginning and have told you 2-3 weeks from the point of delivery to the shop. It has been 2-3 days, not 2-3 weeks.
I can appreciate being impatient in an era where amazon can process a return within the same day of returning something and certainly wish we had that kind of capability, but we do not. If you feel the need to file a chargeback over an item you explicitly said you ordered the wrong one of, thus admitting the reason for the return was essentially due to your mistake and unrelated to the quality of the product, then I guess that is your choice but it seems likely arbitration would not find in your favor. In any case I can not somehow force something to be processed sooner, as much as I have certainly tried in the past, as my team all works remotely and has no way to even initiate a refund let alone have someone at our short staffed physical location sort through incoming packages for your specific one and inspect it.
